  1. Interested in the R32 gear, sway bar and brake booster, any pics available? Also am after the door switches, as mine seem to be faulty. Can you let me know postage to 3108?
  2. I got an HKS cat back mated to a split front/dump from AP performance (on this forum) The diff hanger needed to be banged into place, otherwise the pipe vibrates really bad. Cost me $30 at an exhaust shop to do that. If I had cash instead of eftpos, it probably would have been less. You can install it yourself and get them to bend it to fit, or go the full custom from any zorst shop. My Pipe was $800 from nengun, the split front/dump was about $250 I think, and the high flow cat about another $250 (though it's been a while) the stainless steel is high grade an sounds great. From what I've heard, the X-Force systems are a lower grade of stainless steel, and sound a bit 'tinny' but that's only second hand information. Get the split front pipe, high flow cat and a cat back custom kit. If you fit it yourself (which is not all that hard) you'll be on the road for less than $1300 easy. PS, send some pics of your GTS-4, there are too few of us around.
  3. I'm after a couple of door switches, any chance?
  4. He's a fool. The R33's need the drive shaft removed, not the R32. If he's willing to cop the cost of removing it, then I guess it's ok, as long as he'll guarantee it back in place properly. But it's simply impossible for the AWD system to work without a fuse.
  5. Heh, I've had the same thing. I went 50 metres from my driveways to the local blockbuster, and got pulled over. I live in a side street, with little tiny round abouts and 'benders' so I never even got out of 2nd gear or went over 20km/hr. They came around the corner and tail gated me, I went into the right turning lane (after blinkering normally) and they lit it up and signalled me to pull over on the left side. All I got was an extremely agressive female cop who was very rude. She was abrupt and viscious, constantly insinuating that I was lying, that the car was not mine, that I'd hidden 'illegal mods' out of sight, and that they should take the car to impound and 'tear it apart to get another illegal car off the road' In the end, I can only imagine she wanted me to lose it or something. I politely explained that I was doing nothing wrong, and after a breatho, I was 'allowed to leave' I parked at blockbuster, and they parked next to me (Probably to check on the turbo timer, which I had turned off) and were still there when I left. They followed me home, even parking out the front of my house for 30 mins. Prior to this, I've had very little police presence in my life, so it's not as if I'm on their radar or anything. Anyway, I made a report along with the officers name and number to the local station. They were pretty dismissive as soon as I mentioned I drove a skyline. If it was a merc it'd probably be a different story.
  6. Looking at the boss kit and wheel for my 32. Can I get a guestimate on shipping to 3108?
  7. ......
  8. Need for speed: underground 2
  9. Love the pictures of the black covers with the white middle strip. Any extra for the 2 tone for a 2dr R32 GTS-4?
  10. Circular logic: A healthy, finely tuned engine can run 9500 RPM. My car can run 9500 RPM, threfore it is highly tuned and healthy! It's like saying Dogs eat steak and run around a lot I run around a lot and eat steak, therefore I am a dog!
  11. How about GTS-4? How old are they?
  12. Depends where you are. If you're in melbourne, I'd recommend Japanese performance vehicles and bayswater.
  13. I'd easily recommend J-spec. Although I'd recommend that if you want to buy, have all your finace organised first. I'm sure they get the 'I'll call back once I've got the loan" all the time.
  14. Hi. Is installation a 'dash out' procedure, or do they just slot in?
  15. I've been noticing that there are quite a few gts-4's on the forum, and was just wondering what sort of plans people had for them. I'm particularly interested in what suspension people have tried, and any upgrades they found suprisingly good or bad. For myself, I'm aiming it as a traction machine, and so I've got on my list: Better tyres on 18's (Michi pilots) coil overs (I was looking at tien, but after some reviews have reconsidered, and am now back at square one on what I would like) bigger brakes (unsure here too. Have heard mixed reactions to changing to GTR rotors and calipers.) and maybe some minor power mods. (Already have pod, 3' turbo back, adj cam gears) Anyone have any stories?
  16. I get this too, but only when in neutral. If I put the clutch in, it stops, so i was expecing it to be gear box related.
  17. Hmmm... Might get the clutch master cylinder checked out.
  18. I'll guarantee you that any skyline you look at will have been driven hard at some time. It's what they do. If it's done track days, it'll have been re-oiled and checked over before and after, unless the owner is simply crazy. If it has never done track days, it might have been driven hard and looked after, or it might not have. Just keep your wits about you and get a feel for the seller. If you think he's nuts, then walk away.
  19. I actually don't mind Richo. Problem is that no one in the middle delivers to him properly since brown did his knee. When you're at the game, you can see richo do 3 and 4 part leads, then they just kick it anywhere and he's gotta get to the ball, unlike Sydney and St Kilda who put it just in the path of Hall and gherig repectively, and make them look good.
  20. If you're after an R33, then local is OK, as there's a bucket load of them, but R32 and R34 I'd be importing (well, I did) simply because the conditions are better in Japan, they run on better fuel and better roads. Plus, it's usually cheaper, but be prepared to look at literaly hundreds of cars. Be patient and prepared to spend about 6-8 months selecting and getting it delivered. If you do import, the guys from J-spec are great, and are on his forum. Ask them some questions if you like. Or feel free to ask me.
  21. Im my experiance, Honda's are pretty unreliable after the 7 year mark. My girlfriend has an intega, in the last 3 years she's snapped a timing belt (at just the right moment when everything was in balance! Ultra lucky) dead air cooling compressor, the brake master cylinder, the window motors, the sunroof switches and it constantly had a problem starting where it just wouldn't do anything. A light came on and nothing happened when you turned the key. By contrast, for the same cash (say 10K) you're best cash would be spent on a toyota, or even a Falcon or commie (eeek). Personally, I'd go the S13. They look slick, are a little different, and are a great car to learn advanced driving techniques in.
  22. Stamp duty. Vic roads has a calculator to show you the rego cost. My 9K car cost me $1050 in rego
  23. Well, you'll be looking at about 2-2.5K for compliance, then another 1.5-2k on tyres (depending on choice, but only an idiot would skimp on the most important safety feature that a car can get) 1-2k on insurance, 1-1.5k on rego and allow an extra grand or two as play money, just in case you want to fix something up or whatever. Soa ll up about an extra 7 grand above the off the docks price.
  24. I've heard the rumour, but I think it's just that. Lyons would be crazy to take the collingwood job. He'd have a pay cut, and probably have to give up the footy show and sunday footy show, along with commentating, compeiring, etc. I think it's more likely that Malcolm blight will coach collingwood than Lyons (And that's not very likely in itself). I'm a kangaroos man myself, so I hope we get some good kids. Though an abolute coup would be for us to get Soloman and Mal Michaels, give them a year with Archer to become even tougher, and we'd have a back line that would make any forwards shit themselves.
  25. Judd won't be leaving for Sydney. Put that down for sure. I'd look at some of the lower clubs for some interesting trades. First, Akermanis is up for trade, and brisbane will want players AND picks. Essendon and the Dogs are in there, Essendon possibly to trade him on for some doggies. From Essendon I'd expect Jason Johnson and Dean Soloman might look at moving, neither are happy with their contracts, and Mark Harvey would be interested in getting them west to Freo, and the chance to be part of an inaugural premiership might be just the right bait. Freo could use a bit of mongrel too. Tarrant is pretty safe where he is. He's got Eddie on side. The Clokes... Well, who cares really. And back on Akermanis, I'm not sure who in the bulldogs think they can control him. The last player like that was Martin Pike, and when he went to the Kangas, Glen Archer took him aside in the showers and said to him "Don't F#@K up my club". I don't think the doggies have someone who can do that to Aker, whereas Sheedy might be able to work with his personality. In short, I'd expect Soloman to go to Brisbane along with a draft pick if essendon get Akermanis. Also, another prize recruit could be Michael Gardiner. He's gotta be kicking himself now. Essendon will also be trying to get him over there, and most other clubs will probably give it a crack too. But again, they need someone to keep him in line. And a wild card for you: Kangaroos for Aker, to then onsell to Western Bulldogs. It'd be a coupe, BUT they have the draft picks to trade with, the Dogs have some goal sneaks and midfielders that they need and I know for a fact that many in the Kangas recruiting group are still dirty on the dogs for the Jade Rawlings trade incident. Also, they might be able to trade the talented but currently hapless Hayto brisbane who'll need a mobile backman after Mal Michaels leaves. And Mal Michael. Again, the clubs who'll chase him will be essendon, Carlton and Kangaroos. I can't see him going west or to Sydney beacuse he's already stated that footy is not his #1 priority, and they won't risk it. Sydney and West coast will be largely the same. The players know that they might have another flag in them, and they'll want to be a part of it, instead of uprooting families and taking a chance in a different city. Well that's my insights. It's here in print, so we'll know if I was right or wrong in 6 months. Oh, and my sources? Well, let's just say that I know a couple of people in a couple of clubs. In the end, each club will think it's made the best deal possible. This years draft will be really interesting.
