  1. Cool. Now I just have to wait 2 1/2 years.
  2. Thanks for the offer, I've got a PM from someone who can help me and it's an R32 one, but hey, thanks for offering.
  3. Hey guys, My car is ready to undergo compliance and the front pipe is pretty rusty, so I may need to borrow a stock front pipe from someone who has one lying around. I'm getting the batmbl front/dump anyway, but apparantly this is not acceptable for compliance. So if anyone can loan me one, it'd be much appreciated. Have a great one all. -Josh
  4. I just got my R32 to my door from Seaway/Kiwi. Firstly, Seaway were awesome. Brendan and Nicky looked after me very well. My only complaint is a dent in the boot that looks like it was caused by a chain. I'll let Seaway know about it and see where I can go from there.

    World Cup!

I for one am not that dissapointed Australia lost. I am however dissapointed that we lost to a bunch of limp wristed panty waisted bunch of masculinity challenged boys of questionable manlyhood, and even more questionable sexuality. Seriously, Soccer is a fast game, and contact happens. It's like basketball in that way, it's not a contact sport, but put enough men in a small area, all moving at speed, and bodies will bump. You can ride the bump (like the Australians did) or you can got o water as soon as anyone touches (or comes close enough to touch) you. It's depressing to see that the top athletes from a country so well represented in Australia's multicultural society act this way. It's further depressing to see Australia labelled 'thugs' because people are falling down all around us. (That's not a shot at Italians, or Italian Australians either, you guys are men, no doubt. But this team does not represent that) Sadly, this will also add to the bogan element once again flying off the band wagon and labelling it a 'girls sport' because of all the agony a player seems to be in from minimal contact. I've seen netball players take a bump better. Even worse, AFL is getting a lot of this element into it. IF AFL ever rivals what I saw last night, I'll burn down the AFL HQ. After all that crap though, Australia should have been able to score with a 1 man advantage for 40 minutes, but hell, relaistically, we're not that great, and we went further than expected. And I'm spent. Go Brazil.
  6. http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/102 AU $ 166.27 for the part AU $ 186.51 delivered (to Vic anyway)
  7. OK, so the car is in my driveway now, pretty excited. Had a couple of q's though: The exhaust is cactus. The front pipe, and cat are pretty rough, though the underbody is fine. Does this indicate anything? Also, for compliance, do I have to find a stock front pipe, or can I use a stainless front/dump pipe, such as the one in batmbl's group buy? Should I get it complied with the rather well worn stock exhaust, or can I put on a new cat back for compliance? Do they do EPA and noise tests for compliance? I'll post pics when I get the chance. I leave home in the dark, and I get home in the dark, so no photo opportunities yet.
  8. How about $150 delivered? You cen get these brand new from nengun for $186 delivered.
  9. Yeah, me too, but I'm still waiting. Anyone know this guy? If so get him to reply to my posts and emails and SMS's. Maybe I should be seeking legal advice.
  10. ... very interested. Whereabouts are you located?
  11. Interested in the suspension. Is it for a GTR, GTS-t or a GTS-4?
  12. Not the brightest action, but he does have a point. The quality of drivers in Australia is somewhere between "Bulletproof Space monkey" and "Senile old mountain goat". I also think that making the P's test harder is a good solution, but also ONGOING testing is a better one. My grandmother has not had to take a driving test since the 60's, yet since then, we've seen a bunch of new rules, two lane roundabouts, flashing yellow pedestrian crossings, Freeways, tollways, etc, etc. Now, how often do you suppose the average person drops into the local road authority to get a copy of the latest rules, just to 'freshen up'? yearly? every 5 years, every 10 years? How about not at all? I think that re-testing people every 5-10 years would be a good solution, and removing the implication that EVERYONE deserves a license. Some people just aren't capable enough on the road to be issued one, at least not until they spend more time in driver training. Also, making driver education part of the school curriculum would make them better, more experianced drivers, learning advanced trigonometry in yr 12 might possibly save your life, but knowing how to come to the quickest stop in a wet and broken road almost certainly will. Oh, and while I'm as guilty as the next person in my number of tickets (my first one within 24 hours of getting my P's) none of them have been for more than 10k's over. Does that make me safe? Hell no. It was my stupid fault. I knew that it was wrong and did it anyway. That itself is more important than the result. If I though 10 k's over was OK, why not 11. If 11 is ok, why not 12. Why not 13. 15. 20. 30? What is the exact line a person draws as OK? It should be the speed limit. That is why it was there. It's frustrating, it's often unnecessary, but it's there. Choosing to break it is the same as choosing to break any law. If they could train drivers better, and keep them that way, maybe we'd see limits raised, and less people around trees. -End sermon-
  13. It needs the hotplates. That way, peopleknow they just got passed by a skyline.
  14. Damn, that's about 8 already. If it fills up sooner, will it get sent off sooner?
  15. Put me down for an R32 GTS-4 pipe. I've been waiting for this one.
  16. check out these: http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/102 about $250 each inc postage. I don't think upgrading just one is a good idea, but I have no evidence to back that up, just a gut feeling that having everything symetrical is usually the way to go.
  17. Has there been a definition of the word 'hoon' in the laws? If it's people that smoke it up on tram tracks in the wet down a crowded street on a friday night, I say bring it on. If it's a person driving a performance vehicle with a litttle more acceleration than an average car (not speeding though) then I'm alot less enthused. I've had my share of speeding tickets, in the last 6 months. 2 of them, both on 9 hour drives (Melbourne to broken hill) and got done for driving 61km/hr in a 60 zone, and 62 kn/hr in a 60 zone. this despite sticking to 100 on the cruise control for 9 hours (well, me and my GF, I can't do a 9hr stretch, I don't think anyone can). And before the sledging on my 'hoonish behaviour' starts, I suppose I'd better state that I was in a Nissan pathfinder, towing a speed boat at the time, and that I never noticed the needle go above 60, and have since had the calibration checked to find it all OK. However, in a letter explaining all this, I received the usual "In a review of this matter... blah blah... hand over the dough letter in return. Now, as these were two seperate offences, if the hoon law was in place, would this have meant that they could have confiscated my pathfinder for running a red in the next 6 months? True, it's had some mods done to it, but only handling, durability and suspension based stuff. It's over 2 tons, and accelerates accordingly. Hoon or not? I bet if I hotted up a mercedes SLR I'd have fewer problems with cops. Maybe when I win lotto, I'll buy a dozen of them, and dare cops to pull over every black merc they see.
  18. It wasn't anyones fault but my own, I didn't ask enough questions, and thought I knew more than I actually did. J-spec have been awesome. I talked to Craig again and he has been a great help, Also Sam from Japanese performance vehicles helped me a lot. What I should have done is tell Craig that I was a newbie and needed the steps outlined for me, instead what I did was make some assumptions, and if it wasn't for J-spec checking up on me, I could have been in the sh!t. The car carrier docked today, so I'll be getting the call soon and it'll be at my door in a day or two. I feel like a kid just before christmas!
  19. Someone organised Seaway logistics, customs agent license number 1383 to contact me. Don't know if it was Jspec or JPV. anyway, I'll send them the import approval then, and I'll call J-Spec as soon as the office opens.
  20. OK, so I got my approval in record time, do I need to submit it to someone, or do I just take it when I pick the car up from customs?
  21. How much for the amp and speakers (inc sub)?
  22. Got mine yesterday, looks awesome, will fit soon. Thanks Bat.
  23. Yeah, I think it was the speed between delivery and boat underway that surprised them. But yeah, I should have arranged comliance first, though I had the impression that it was supplied with the purchase of the car (I might have gotten confused witht he remainders of the old scheme, a lot of cars were sold with 15 year old import approval, and I've been looking for some time) In the end, it was my fault for not asking enough questions, no doubt, and I've never said otherwise, but a sticky step by step post would be infinately helpful. I'll write it myself after I've finished if no one else wants to. And by garbled, I meant it was all in government speak, with very little examples. Maybe that's just me, but I find it easier to understand stuff when it has a direct application outlined. Anyhow, thanks for the interest.
