There is a difference between parking a car in a car park, and leaving the car in someone elses possession. The garage had the keys, they had taken temporary possession of the car. Failure to even use any security systems besides a $12 pad lock and some steel mesh would not seem adequate for most cars. If your mate borrowed your car, and crashed it, He'd be liable, as it's in his possession, with, or without your permission. A case could be made for either party, though I think it's a bit harsh for the workshop to park it wherever they like, then deny all responsibility when it goes pear shaped. I'd be getting legal advice if I were you, but don't try and be a hard-arse, or think that you'll be able to sue them and retire rich. See if you can come to an agreement where the missing parts are replaced at a discounted rate, and you'll save yourself a lot of hassle. Threatening to sue and stuff only pisses people off more.

sigh. In the red corner, we have the people who like the Iphone. In the blue corner, we have the people who hate it. In the end,it depends on what you want. Iphone pros: Awesome interface. Threaded SMS's (see the conversations, not just the last reply) Gesture based touch screen Fantastic quality display. plenty of storage space. Cons: Can't bluetooth. No MMS Very poor camera with no flash. Assisted GPS (uses quite a bit of data) does not compress data (unlike, say Blackberry) needs internet to do everything. End result: If you want a good camera, look at the nokia 6220 or N82 If you are a more visual person, the iphone is for you. N95 is a bit old now. N82 does all it can and more (better processor, xenon flash, upgradable to 8gb) and there's a new black one that comes out with "The dark night" built in. The screen is smaller, but if that's what you want, get the iphone instead. It's a better video playing device.

I can see the logic: No matter how many kids you have, they take about 18 years to get you a beer, however, have 18 beers in a night, and the missus might start looking like a playboy centrefold, so you'll get a kid in about 9 months. beer only takes 9 months to make a kid, but a kid takes 18 years to get a beer. therefore, beer is actually 36 times more valuable than a kid. I'm sure the driver was considering this when he strapped in his precious cargo. (note, analysis is null and void if said beer was West end, Southwark, XXXX or MB)

R34 Gt-t
Kozeyekan replied to trel's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
My brother just found a 2001 GTT stock with under 90,000k's. Pretty clean, and it will be about 23K on road. Golden week is coming up, so bargains are there to be had. -

I'm looking at GT-T's at the moment and came across a VII NUR on the cheap. Would have been J-spec, prestige or imports 101. -
Wanted Ps3 Or Xbox 360 With Car Games!
Kozeyekan replied to Dean_HR31's topic in For Sale (Other Items)
Comparing the PS3 hardware to the Xbox 360 is easy: PS3 wins. The blu-ray technology is what tips it. HD-DVD is kaput, and being able to fit 50gb on a disc means that when people start coding for the PS3 exclusively, they have much more data to play with. Having played Call Of Duty 4 on X360 and PS3, the PS3 one seemed smoother and more detailed, but not to a ridiculous level. GTAIV should be a good test also. Having said that, it's all about the games. Forza Vs Gran Turismo is what it boils down to in car sims. Forza wins, but GT is not, by any means, disgraced. A major advantage of the PS3 though, is the backward compatability of the 60gb consoles. (The current 40gb do not have this ability). And being able to play blu-rays. If you were thinking of getting a blu-ray player, use the PS3. It's cheaper, and in many ways better than most blu-rays on the market. To get the most out of this you'll need a HDMI capable wide screen plasma. go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_vi...h_generation%29 for a stat run-down The short though: Ram: X-Box Graphics memory: PS3 Graphics Processing speed: PS3 (550mz vs 500mHz, so it's close.) Media storage: Ps3. HD-DVD was for movies only, so going forward, some games will probably want to take advantage of the extra storage space available on blu-ray discs. But, Xbox Live is so much better than Playstation home. At least, for now. If you want a media station, get a PS3. If it's all about the games, and only the games. X-box is the king at the moment, but be prepared to upgrade in the next 6-9 months. -

is this a school holidays question? It depends on the broker. All brokers charge a fee, usually between 1-2k. VpsecII R34's are going for about 50K landed. Add 10% stamp duty, rego costs, insurance, tyres and such and you're looking at another 10K on top of that. Still, for 60K (and about 2 months wait) you'll have a registered GTR. Wait until golden week and you might even get a better deal. -
PLEASE can Clarkson get the job! The less said by ITV, the better. I'd even support Damon Hill or Nigel Mansell commentating than the tits they have at the moment: excerpt: "What do you suppose Lewis Hamilton had for - oh, Raikonnen spins out- breakfast this morning?" "I hear it's eggs and toast on race days."

FOR SALE: For sale: Scuderia Toro Rosso Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz has said that his second Formula 1 team, Scuderia Toro Rosso, has been put up for sale. Mateschitz wants to focus on his team Red Bull Raacing and as the Concorde Agreement won't allow customer cars from 2010 Toro Rosso will have to build the entire car themselves. Speaking with Motorsport Aktuell Mateschitz revealed: "We have Toro Rosso on the market and are looking for the right person to purchase it. At the start of the 2010 Formula 1 season there will be a rule change that says we can not build both Red Bull Racing's car as well as the car for Scuderia Toro Rosso. That is why I believe we should continue with one team only." Mateschitz furthermore revealed that it is not planning to sell the team in 2008 already, but before the start of the 2010 Formula One season. There are already a handful of candidates being speculated as possible buyers. Among them Nicolas Todt, son of Jean Todt and manager of Felipe Massa. But also A1GP chairman Tony Teixeira is being mentioned as a possible buyer. SAU could pool it's money. Only a couple of buck s each, providing we can sign up every man, woman and child in this hemisphere.

Agreed. Sure Nissan Australia need to make a profit, and show that they can sell the car, but why oh why would anyone buy a locally delivered car, if the imported ones are better? I'm not talking abstract dealer servicing or local knowledge, or any of the other so called "service" that they spout about (and rarely deliver on), but the pure abilities of the car. If I can get more performance for the same price by grey importing, then I will do just that. The GTR is a hero car. Nissan probably won't make much profit from it, but it will raise the profile of the company greatly. Getting people walking through the showroom doors is half the battle. Driving a De-tuned GTR would be like going on a date with Jessica Alba, and finding out she's a man. True your friends wouldn't know, but deep inside, you'd know the truth and want to strangle yourself with you own intestines.

3K for brake pad change? IF it included calipers and rotors, THEN it's OK. Have a crack yourself, I'm pretty sure theres a DIY in the DIY forum for it.

Webber to win. Louise will be leading, with Massa behind him, then they'll have a brain fart and crash, leaving Webbo to clean up, with Alonso ramming Lewis's stationary car. Twice. Then he gets out and head butts him. Then Coulthard uses his mighty chin of doom to lay the smack down on the spainiard. Man... i need to get more sleep.

He's an arrogant, smart arse chauvenistic anachronistic knobhead. Having said that, he's using those qualities to make himself a mint, and his ads are fairly funny. So, for being true to who he is, and getting paid to do it, I voted Legend. It shows you that even a moronic talking head with a beer gut attached can make truckloads of cash from being an arsehole, and this means there is still hope for me.

.... OR to put it in forum rules (And a little more circumspect).... J-spec A+ Prestige A+ SSV recommended by others Kamikaze has been recommended. JSA does not have a grading that can be posted, due to forum rules. I'd talk to funky munky here before importing though. Yes he is part of J-spec, but he knows his stuff. Read between the (sky)lines

Tried that. The distance from my ankle joint to my knee is about the same as from the clutch pedal to the wheel, so either I lower the seat (thus lowering the angle, and letting my knees past) sit further back (which is a bad driving position) extend the column (using a boss kit and a smaller wheel) or drive with my legs wide open like a $2 hooker.

It's not a bad idea though. At the very least, change to a debit card. That way your credit rating will still be OK if you go to get a phone plan, or a bill in your name, etc.

I'm 50/50 on hitting kids. I have a psyche degree and did my placement in a community health centre, and some of the sh!t you see there...... Parents who break their kids ribs with a backhander for wetting the bed. Shaking the crap out of a 9 month old. The worst was a father who raped his 1 year old daughter to death.... Sick Fkn sh!t. Anyway, I'd support a smack on the butt, but only after a year and a half. Defniately no hitting the head (The old clip over the ear) as some parents don't realise how fragile a childs skull actually is. But after seeing the stuff I saw, I think I'd just be glad to have a kid who's healthy. I'd be more likely to punish them with exercise or homework. Something that'd help them. But hey, who am I to tell people how to raise their kids, just because I've seen most types of parenting that dont work? I am 100% with you that too many kids are spoiled little bastards though. Too many daddies, not enough fathers. Parents are not their childs best friends. The child can make many friends, but only has one father and mother (mostly anyway). A firm hand does not mean beating a kid though. Most praents use "Do as I say and not as I do" but that rarely works. It's easiest to lead from the front, show the kid how to behave, how to study, how to get outdoors and be active. Some of my best memories are from my Dad teaching me how to kick a drop punt. On the Racism issue and multicultural Australia. It all stems from people thinking they're better than others. I've had people call me a "mongrel" "White dog" "Greasy wog" and even "Black bastard", simply because I have dark hair and eyes, and tan up really dark during summer, but if I'm out of the sun for a month or more, I go really white. So I guess I've taken all but the Asian slurs, although, when driving the skyline, some people probably hurl those epiphets my way too. Race pride is like religious pride. If you know without a shadow of a doubt that your race or religion was the best, you'd never need to say a word about it to anyone. It's only the insecure people that seek validation of their opinions from others. Besides that, I am yet to find a race that cannot produce a woman that I find extremely attractive. From Claudia Schiffer to Aishwarya Ray, Eva Mendez to Ziyi Zhang, Gisele Bundchen to Tyra Banks (10 years ago). Any race that can produce women like these is alright in my book. Australia's own Elle, Jenifer Hawkins, Lara Bingle and Megan Gale are pretty easy on the eyes too. But I do identify with the "White" Australia most of all. I am proud to come from a diversified background (Irish, English, French and unknown due to grandfather being a orphan) but I find the problem with Racial pride organisations is that they are actually racial superiority organisations. Humble pride in where you come from is a good thing. Arrogantly assuming you are superior in some obscure genetic fashion is idiocy of the highest order. Humble pride is where you need never brag or boast, you don't try to make others see your way of thought or denounce theirs as foolish, you just have a belief that your particular heritage is good for you, and let others think what they like about it.

OK, so I got a query. I searched and found little help. My comfortable driving position seems to be a little more close and upright than a lot of people (maybe it's my long legs and short arms?) Anyway, when I'm driving, my head is touching the ceiling, and my knees hit the back of the steering wheel (I'm only just 6ft) I can see 2 options here. 1: Replace seats with lower ones (modifying the rail shouldn't be too hard -should it?) 2: extending the steering column, using a boss kit or similiar. Sitting further back. ANy thoughts anyone?

Aircon Regassers In Melbourne That Use Hychill Hr12 Gas
Kozeyekan replied to funkymonkey's topic in Victoria
OK, to clarify. My R32 has been imported, and the aircon has not been regassed at all since compliance. I had my front pipe replaced, and this apparantly involved disconnecting the aircon pipe, which emptied the gas. Now, is there a place near doncaster that can flush me and fill me with hy-chilly goodness? -
It's all stupid. If the money they made was spent on safer roads and DRIVER TRAINING as part of a high school curriculum, we'd see less deaths on the road. Put an idiot in a micra, and he'll still have an accident. True, he might survive, but the passengers probably wouldn't.

Aircon Regassers In Melbourne That Use Hychill Hr12 Gas
Kozeyekan replied to funkymonkey's topic in Victoria
How far? Well, I'm eastern (Doncaster) but if the price is right, I'll drive for up to an hour. I work some weekends, but if it comes to it I can always get someone else to drop my car in.
