  1. Cheers for the info fellas much appreciated
  2. Yeah nah a torque wrench is by my side at all times when it comes to shit like this. Rattle gun for everything else. Not very surprised with the workshop who left the washer out. I seem to be finding shortcuts the deeper I go.
  3. Makes sense. Because a pulled it apart to install the hks cams and upon reassembly I noticed there was something missing and not in my parts tray. Looks like the previous workshop made a right ass of themselves. Cheers 89CAL Also... what sort of torque setting does the bolt require?
  4. Either would work. Id go 17s if you're packing some decent hp as you'd need better quality tyres. But if you arent id go 16s and buy a few sets of cheaper tyres. Miss matching won't matter either.
  5. Hey guys i seem to have run into a little bit of a problem whilst removing and installing my intake cam gear on my RB25DET. I read in the workshop manual that there is a "Shamfered Washer" between the bolt that secures the cam gear and cam gear. When i removed the cam gear there wasnt a washer in sight. Can anybody tell me how this washer looks and what size it is? also am i able to put in any washer that is of the same/equiv size to the factory one. Cheers.
  6. Your rear calipers will be fine. Your handbrake shoes will be toast though. I recommend speedtek or project mu shoes with a nicely adjusted cable. I use speedtek h/brake shoes myself.
  7. The reason why some cars slide so much easier but don't come past fast on the gas is tyre quality. Depending on how much power your car has is how you set up the rear end and what tyres you use. 0.5 - 1mm camber in the rear and just a beez dick toe in (cant remember for the life of me)
  8. My engine temp drops while cruising on a chilled night. Never goes over 90 odd whilst drifting on a 25plus deg day. Seems to be good so far. I also don't have ac on my car
  9. +1 infront of rad behind the intercooler. Zero difference in cooling efficiency coolant wise and tucked away
  10. A healthy handbrake line and good handbrake shoes (PMU or Speedtek) is all thats needed. i use speedtek shoes and they have not even thought about failing me. And when doing decent sized entrys the footbrake is needed to wash off speed and keep your angle. Id like to see somebody come hot into an entry and just use the handbrake to hold angle and wash off speed.
  11. Like this setup
  12. You could. Or you could get another 90 deg elbow like the other one and not have the breather there at all and use that one as the t piece used in the middle.
  13. Have you had a look at the rips engine packages they have? You can get short and long motor packages built for your intended use/power figures. They only do RB's.
  14. What kane said.
  15. Factory nissan has the yellow part routed like that. If your setup is like that then block yellow and green off then t piece the red straight to the catch can
  16. My rb25 has both the yellow and green parts removed/blocked off and works perfectly. But block the green. Split the red and run the yellow into your intake pipe.
  17. The profec b spec ii has the features of setting the boost to come on quicker and harder but it isnt as user friendly as other ebc's. If you're running a stock or highflow turbo and don't really wana throw cash and want something better than a bleed valve you can't go past an adjustable hks actuator. Close-to-no spike or boost bleed. Easy to adjust. Works good.
  18. You can get yourself some gasket paper and cut it to fit n use some silastic to make sure it never leaks. I wouldnt re use an old gasket
  19. Josh: you find the parts you want and get the part numbers. Email them to him. Then he'll get you a price and availability on them.
  20. +1 for jesse streeter.
  21. Looks like i gotta put a spare short motor aside and wind the boost up. Test your theory
  22. Doing jobs like that is my occupation. If she shits a gasket ill put a mls gasket and uprated head bolts or arp studs
  23. If you're going to drive your car hard and push a decent amount of power and occasionally see the track (where you keep the rpm needle buried into the red most of the time) you need an oil cooler. I dont think my engine would have lasted as long as it has without one. Keeps temps at a nice range even when it is hot and i am thrashing it.
  24. Im going for that figure on 98...
  25. You can put any turbo on an rb25. Just depends on what you want to use the car for and how much power you want. Hypergear stuff isnt crap and props to them for making the choice easy for skyline owners when it comes to setups. The reason why garrett and precision dont spend so much time developing a turbo for the 25 is most likely because they aren't aiming for skyline owners but moreso aiming for the entire performance/turbo world.
