  1. cheaper yes... better... hmmmm say that to the worlds fastest that use garrett
  2. Swap it then piss the 35r off. Buy a 3076 and let the good times roll.
  3. Well after reading that I wont be changing my gasket or head bolts. Will post up details when she screams on the dyno again.
  4. so who's making 320+kw with std head bolts and head gasket?
  5. Well currently im making 300kw. Tomei fuel pump greddy plenum 3076 .82 with a tial 44mm gate straight through 3 inch exhaust power fc. The usual stuff. Im putting hks 256/264 cams with a hks ex cam gear. Tomei springs. Nismo 740cc injectors. Nismo thermostat. Nismo reg. Iv recently just finished my 044 and surge tank setup. Just spoke to the guy who's tuning it. Im upping the boost to 20 to 22psi. Aiming for 330 plus kw. I use the car for drift and street driving. But I want to break into the 11s and run a 120mph pass. So basically my car will be an all rounder.
  6. Put it on nawz... 2 of the big ones! Barellboy: In all seriousness there are some Good responses here.
  7. You're comparing a 2L 4cyl to a 2L 6cyl. Are you racing your mate in 3rd on the roll at 1500 rpm?
  8. have a look at the hypergear bolt on range. if you don't want to spend heaps
  9. usually if its just a run off the mill highflow it probably isn't specced up to be responsive.. personally im not much for bitsa turbos. Do you have any exhaust leaks? what condition is the motor? ie compression. Can you get your hands on a stocker rb25 turbo?
  10. start off with a proper tune. maybe put an exhaust cam gear. what specs are the high flow turbo?
  11. Thats a nice linear power curve. Looks like mine. We hadto put limitations aswell on my car (7650) for some reason the power doesnt taper off. Never opened up my engine after buying it off a member here so im unsure if the heads had some sexying up or what. I can drive mine all day when cruising but when she's open everybody hears it
  12. bottom to mid is what will be affected by vct. interested to know... Reflector: post up a dyno graph if you have one
  13. City driving pussyfooting 300kw? or actually driving the car hard 300kw? id personally go an ORC or OS GIKEN twin plate sprung centre for a very long clutch life (unless you drive like a pig and clutch the absolute hell out of it) or ring jim berry. OR if you dont want to spend that amount of dough and arent planning to drive the car to its limits for extended peroids.. flick through the exedy catalogue or xtreme.
  14. You can get them off nengun. Im going through jesse streeter for them. Also going to use tomei valve springs and a hks ex cam gear.
  15. Yeah nytsky I kinda just copied you haha
  16. Would like to see dyno graphs with vct on and a vernier cam gear on intake. See what difference there may be
  17. I know it does the exact same thing. But does it give as much of an improvement as lets say a vcam on a 26?
  18. I doubt the stock vct would even compare to an aftermarket vcam setup.
  19. Looks like ill be keeping vct and going hks 256 in 264 ex with an exhaust cam gear. They look like a popular/good choice. Im after a fatter mid range and try to have a more aggressive overall power ban.
  20. How would 268 go on a 3076? im looking at the 264 in/ex 9mm lift. Any advantage of leaving the VCT? wouldnt the vernier cam gear (when adjusted) be better?
  21. So im looking at purchasing a set of cams and iv come across these camtech cams. Has anybody heard of them? Anybody Using them? opinions will be much appreciated. Also what cams does everybody recommend using in a stock bottom end RB25 with a GT3076 .82. Making 300kw now on 16/17psi will be upping the boost to 20+psi when i decide on cams and wont be using the VCT. Cheers, Phill.
  22. 6boost. Extreme turbo manifolds. Powertune. Either of those are a good choice. You get what you pay for.
  23. Id run an earls kit if I didnt make my own. Just my opinion
  24. Standard space saver maybe?
  25. Why didnt the mechanic get the head inspected when he took it off to replace the gasket? That's the one thing he should have done when replacing the head gasket due to oil/water mixture. Block the hoses off with clamps or something to the oil cooler and pressure test the system. If there's a pressure drop then it isnt your cooler and most likely the head. In this particular situation.
