You either need a shorter driveway or think about parking half way down....
The powertune guys seem to know whats what when it comes to bc and rb's. Best of luck with your engine building mate.
http://www.extremeheatprotection.com/ this is the stuff you want. The silicone outer sleeving. You can get it from rocket industries or vpw. I got mine from vpw n it hasnt failed me
That it does.
Gearing such as close ratio boxes and holingers n diff ratios make a huge difference in how the car comes onto power. Example CRDs JUN and powertunes r34 gtr. But like you say Ash. Some people don't understand.
Wouldn't go as far as saying "fan boy" but I am a fan of the mines gtr no doubt.
Judging by the "lag" in the vid, the hks r34 picks up from 4,000ish rpm. Wouldn't call that "laggy as shit" also wouldn't say that's lightening response
Maybe with different cams.. or a full hks head combo. have you seen the HKS r34 gtr with V-CAM from the best motoring series? 2.8 and a T04Z. Things a monster! i'm all for strokers and big singles!!
Id definitely go one of these kits over a 30 bottom end... mainly because you can say you have a full stroker for wank factor AND you can rev them so much harder than a dirty thirty.
just had a look. it shows that you can also get those for RB25. 2.8 and 2.9 versions.. never knew the same stroker kit can be used for both 25 and 26 engines.. would be insane in a 26 with 272 cams and a HKS T04Z
Gotta ride it out of the hole aswell with an awd.. cant rev n dump those things because they just bog out... Looks like he's gotta start shopping around for a new one
Spuen calder isn't open at the moment and im unsure when it will be. ill be racing at Heathcote sometime soon (hopefully) to claim top pozzie on the sau-vic drag times in r33 gtst. Im putting my money on the Evo to win.... IF the driver knows how to launch and isn't a pussy on the throttle. Best of luck to both drivers and both cars. Enjoy the race
Im using an adjustable exhaust cam gear on my stock cams. Made 295 on 18psi with a GT35/40 .63 without the cam gear. Changed to a 3076 .82 on the same boost with the cam gear. made 300kw with approx. 30kw more throughout the low-mid range. In my opinion I think yes they do work to an extent.
As much as Cut n Shut are uneasy on the eye and look like they will do bad things to your engine
They seem to be working pretty well on some cars... Yeah it isn't a skyline or a rb20/5/6 BUT they've been proven to support a bucket load of power and able to run some pretty decent numbers.
Id still never ever EVER use one on my engine.
Try having a look at the GK TECH kits. Haven't heard anything bad about them. The distributor is a Melbournian and is a good bloke to deal with. Well priced and are most likely a copy of a high priced jap brand. Cant really go wrong there.
You're looking for polished. Not chrome. Most are polished... iv never seen a "chromed" cooler setup. Who would waste their cash chroming cooler pipes?
You'll always hear more bad than good about alot of things. Parts these days are made pretty spot on (intercooler wise) I havnt heard of them fitting wrong or failing. At the end of the day it's just an intercooler. Its pretty hard to stuff that up. Its also pretty hard to blow one apart making the magical number.
Darkryda: 300kws on 16 to 20psi or 300kws on 25 to 30psi? It will hold a shitload of pressure. Power figures shouldn't be coming into play. I make 300kw with a 32gtr intercooler and these new ones are thicker and have way less bugs stuck in them
There are the guys around aus running 7second passes with china intercoolers. You have nothing to worry about. If you're into brand names then theres greddy blitz and hks. If you're into budget (like you've already stated) there's cooling pro hybrid hdi and ebay spec.
If you want to use a front facing plenum but are worried about oil filter changes being difficult maybe think about using a relocation kit for the oil filter? I didn't find changing the oil filter hard at all with my Greddy plenum. Aswell as installing my oil cooler n relo kit on the ground.
