Unfortunately noone outside of metro cities will employ me. I do fake work, just smash buttons on a computer and get angry at people in meetings.

Tiguan does really well on the highway, with a full car (4 adults, a few slabs of beer), AC on, I've averaged 7L/100km flat going to Jervis Bay.
-
Man this Nissan shit box drinks hard, it's averaging like 14L/100km around town where as the VW shit box would do high 11L/100km call it flat 12L/100km. Wife is starting to prefer the X Trail more because it doesn't have that DSG derp, kicks and clunks at low speed.

I'm not a fan, not enough turbine. Hence I went with a GTX3576R -

I'm assuming you're asking about my current turbo? It's a Garrett GTX3576R Gen 2 with a 1.01 divided turbine housing. Made 437kW with 1.8 tapering down to 1.6bar. At the time, G series turbos were so new there wasn't much data on them so didn't want try something untested. -

I am guilty lol. Wasn't too bad, you get 1bar of boost by 4500rpm provided VCT is functioning. -
Pure EVs don't really suit that, however around metro Sydney it's sufficient. For me, I would prefer a Hybrid of a PHEV. PHEV works for me, because I could charge the future shit box during the day and capitalise on my yumcha spec 6.6kW/5kW solar system. And the petrol motor would be useful when my wife forgets to to charge the car or when we go outside metro Sydney. Apparently the 2025 Tiguans (that may or may not arrive in Australia) will do ~80km on the battery.

Like Mariah Carey, it's Christmas all year round Not going to lie, it's not a bad car. Rides ok, power wise, could do with a bit more. One odd thing, there's no option to make the doors auto lock when you take off and the side mirror doesn't auto dip when you engage reverse. quite a few of the newer BMWs are FWD, the moved away from the RWD platform for the smaller cars.

haha nice! I need a four door daily/weekend track car VW Australia came to the table, free loaner car for the next 3~4 weeks. @Duncan will be moist, it's a Nissan. Has 300km on the dash, I'll make sure to bed it in for them.

Barra swap, ZF8HP box. Will be cheaper in the end. -
R34 GTT - Bottom end build question

@admS15 she won't be too impressed with the price tags lol. Although..... The X3 M40i does seem ok, pre-LCI can be had for $50 to $60k which is the same price range as it's smaller sibling the 30i. I guess the 6 banger deters people, so everyone prefers the 4 banger 2.0L.

100% Especially the shit box is 6 months out of warranty. Here's hoping a new mechatronic means another 5 years of life, until something else shits the bed. Probably going to sell this shit box next year and replace with another shit box, however with a ZF box.
-
actually labour is about $500~$550 based off other people in the Tiguan group. The mechatronic is about $3k through VW OR about $2500~$2700 if you buy from some random overseas online store.
-
So update time! VW HQ will honour the mechatronic, however VW Liverpool are waiting on VW HQ to see if they will cover the labour as well. VW Liverpool have already ordered the new mechatronic, approximately will take 3~4 weeks before it arrives here.

A gate before the collector will always make more power than a gate after the collector (providing the collector has started to become a choke point). Same turbo (well nearly, one was an ATR43SS2 journal vs. ATR43SS2 BB) different gate location and I picked up an extra 50kW on less timing.
