  1. I'm on both sides of here, however you have many invalid points stated above Peter. Even at E50 there's enough knock resistance you can happily run the same amount of boost and timing as you did on E85. And remember it's now 2018 not 2008, we have stainless internal injectors and fuel pumps specifically made for E85. There are pros and cons for both setups, neither of which are perfect.
  2. Still OEM subframe bushes? Even with subframe lock collars they will moved a tiny bit and will clunk. I had that issue and went all jihadi-ish on the subframe bushes and replaced them. Note to anyone trying to do it, just drive it to a shop. Not worth DIYing.
  3. They seem to have "some" flex, I'm skeptical. Run both for now, if they're shit I'm going to send it.... Into the bin. Hopefully, the RB is somewhat more "balanced" than a tractor motor lol. Hoping to get the motor in this weekend.

  11. Nearly defeated but as son of immigrants I will never give up that easily Plenum is now a R33 item, new R33 Plazmaman rail and shit fits now. Turbo housing back on too with a welded elbow, no more blowing off silicone hoses. Not long to go!

They all try and say they take 4 weeks to be made in house (in house in a factory in China) lol. Asked for trade pricing and got a quote that's pretty much RRP with free shipping. Anyhow R34 NEO intake manifold off and swapping the R33 homosex shit back on.
  13. You can import your current map back on. That means you only need to sort out the E85 compensation tables. Pretty much need to tune (or lazily blanket values) for the cranking, timing and fuel tables. Lazy tuning, add 4 degrees into the entire timing compensation table, of course a dyno would be best for these things lol

  15. Maybe bad batch, another reason I always tell people to run BP Ultimate and nothing else. I'm sure other tuners would say the same as well. Wonder of the batch was overloaded with detergents and addictive which could be causing it
  16. Was it a hot day? Does your car have a Nistune and or some form of idle management strategy that retards timing to keep the idle at its set point? I put in a Nistune into a S13 last week and because his idle screw is cooked the idle was quite high however would settle after 10 seconds or so. Went to check timing and guess what? Was idling at 4 degrees... I thought something was not right but had a feeling the ECU was pulling timing on idle and yep it was. Changed the TPS voltage threshold and boom, base timing back to 15 degree.
  17. I would just keep that head on Benny's and slap in better springs, slightly more aggressive cams and 2.2L it's mum all round. No need for VE if you're not chasing silly numbers. A clean S14/15 head with carefully chosen parts ie not GT3071 and open scroll junk will be perfect for his requirements. 2.2L with his head, VCT, TS everything will happily make the power and deliver the boner response he would be after. Once the box blows, put in a 5 speed Z32 and an convert his diff ratio to 3.9 from an auto.
  18. V-CAM and/or VCT is life. Anyone who says VCT or V-Cam as such is a waste of money OR for emissions OR for economy need to get their head out of their arse.
  19. Won't quote names but I've seen a few from big brands appear to be split until both pulses are just going into 1x big 50 mm hole to the gate. Best I've seen from one brand was an open scroll manifold with a divided T3 flange welded on top lol
