  1. Get better pads and you'll be sweet Also shameless plug, can get you decent deals on DBA stuff
  2. Even expensive ones spit out belts and don't suppress enough harmonics causing oil pumps to explode.
  3. Let's just say several big tuning shops prefer OEM balancers.. if they're using it on serious builds then that's enough to say they work well! Even Redsun Motorsports & Mechanical (the guys that put together my bottom end) asked me what balancer I bought, I said new OEM and they said "good, those xyz ones are rubbish"
  4. I borrowed it from my mate haha.. I think he got the lot from Burson's The quicker I get this shit box done, the quicker I can throw it on the dyno and start tuning it. Started to get the itch, thus the build thread is moving a bit faster. Already altered my existing map for the new motor, predicting it would be a little laggier I've flattened the timing instead of ramping it once torque decays
  5. Last night's efforts involved getting the timing kit on, checking all timing marks and getting the tension of the belt on correctly. Alternator and water pump ancillary belt on too! Yes I know it's a Gates belt, part of me remembers I ordered a stock belt but after opening the package just the other week after a year it got me by surprise lol. Maybe the guys at 999 Automotive packed the wrong thing or I actually ordered the wrong kit, nevertheless it's on! Brand new crank pulley on too, none of that fancy Ross business either. OEM should be good for the "stock" motor lol.
  6. if you are after a cheap rebuild, I have stock RB25DET NEO pistons and rods for sale... with the R33 head you will drop you comp to 8.x:1
  7. Buy an OEM one, Ross, solid, etc. will cost you a motor.
  8. ahh that's fine with me I guess, it's more so for property damage in the odd/rare even you rear end a Ferrari or so
  9. So they won't renew for existing policy holders?
  10. Sigh if only you paid attention to what I said over at Nissan Silvia forums
  11. Edward would cum his pants lol Can't wait to dose again, with an older GT style compressor wheel it will dose great ??
  12. Do you have several policies? I have home contents and 2x cars with NRMA.. probably why they keep on renewing? just speculation
  13. Oh yeah, ARP 2000 studs and Tomei head gasket. She's now sealed up One last time to admire the head before it gets all dirty Sealed up, time to get everything else on before December. Because we all know how useless I become in December lol
  14. More OEM goodness, special thanks to Andrew @ Kudos Motorsports for the parts. Cheaper, faster than Nissan themselves so winner in my books! Ooo.. The dowels are in, more soon Stock pistons look good after a clean ?
  15. Looks like racing pedigree bako has now experienced a non Japanese turbo and enjoys it lol.
  16. I am still covered by NRMA VVC Insurance for my shit box R33 GTS-t trash can.. however it is because the policy maybe 'grandfathered' or whatever the term is. Haven't driven it in a year (for obvious reasons) but it still has full comprehensive insurance on it because I'm scared of not being able to re-insure it if I put it on hold or cancel it. My SP25 daily cost 3x times more to insure and the agreed value on both cars are the same lololol.
  17. Oooo I see Intima pads How do you find the Type-D?
  18. buy buy buy... good for those who have a NA motor and want to lower the static compression and slap on a decent sized turbo!
  19. Ethanol won't save ringlands though, mine died after a solid year of abuse at Wakefield making 372kW. Prior to that nearly 2 years at 330kW.
  20. A journal bearing twin scroll single turbo, I would dare say would perform better than a set of twins that produce like for like power output.
  21. Sydney, to be precise Canley Vale. Also I only have access to RWD dynos (pre-empting the next question)
  22. If you're in Sydney I have the following items of which may benefit you: RB25DET NEO Head Bolts/Washer RB25DET NEO Intake/Exhaust Cam Shafts RB25DET NEO Pistons and Rods RB25DET NEO Injectors RB25DET NEO OEM Head Gasket (brand new) RB25DET NEO OEM Exhaust Manifold Gasket (brand new)
