A gate before the collector will always make more power than a gate after the collector (providing the collector has started to become a choke point). Same turbo (well nearly, one was an ATR43SS2 journal vs. ATR43SS2 BB) different gate location and I picked up an extra 50kW on less timing.

You would expect very little, here are random bits of data recorded on my ECU last time I pulled it off (it's just when TPS us over 90%) -
R34 GTT - Bottom end build question

for $2000, that's not too bad in today's market. Perhaps go to a local engine builder and get new rings/bearings put in and send it.- 61 replies

It was just more what will require the least effort & cost to get your car doing 300kW. If this was my car, I would just get a basic forged kit and fit it up, and if your bores aren't scored and within spec just get 86mm pistons so there's no need to bore out the block. No idea who gave you that $20k quote, however it can be done sensibly for much less.- 61 replies

Your NEO head is worth quite a bit of coin, and since it has been serviced it is already in tip top condition. You could sell that and you'll have only a small shortfall for a used 2nd hand NEO motor. Slap on a new head gasket, using major service kit, a few new seals here and there and you'll have a very capable motor to do 300kW ~ 400kW all day.- 61 replies

Why enable a feature and not expect it to be used? It's like having a hot missus you can't bang.

Yeah the DQ500, uses wet clutches and found in the RS3 and TT-RS. It's the clutch position sensor that has failed, hence it can't determine any of the odd gears when the box gets warm. From scouring the web, it only seems to have affected earlier Tiguans only, some have speculated it was a manufacturing issue at one of the plants. VW will replace the entire mechatronic board instead of the sensor (which involves removing and soldering a new sensor on). Guess it requires less effort from their techs. Just my luck.

Thanks @Duncan let's see how I go next week. For good measure, just happened again. Daily occurrence 🥲 Will get it fixed and wait till the Minister of War & Finance is back to work so we have more cash flow instead of torching our savings before we buy a new shit box (won't be a Nissan, soz).

I hope so, hope being loyal to the stealership has some positive(s). Shitbox has been exclusively serviced by VW, even though I could do it myself for heaps less.

That makes it 2x broken cars at home. Both kind of work, one leaks coolant when warm one skips 1,3,5,7 gears when warm. Lol.

Double check with the guys at HFM, might be because they're using different rotors. Regardless, you can adapt the rear Brembos, that's the main point.
