Garrett Gtx2863r On Rb34?
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to GTRR34N1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well initially I was going to put 250kW but now that's being too harsh on the twin dinosaur boys -

Not doubting it.. but you could easily have achieved the same with a single, made less heat, used less fuel, have less glowing bits on the hot side and increase longevity. -

100% on that.. old R33 had about $1k of sound deadening in it.. covered the doors, rear quarters, boot lid, etc.. sounded great well the DD 8" I have is in a prefab ported box.. and if I never told you the size or what it was in you'll be thinking there's a 12" in the boot

Fuel Economy With 750cc Injectors (300hp)
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Glennno's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
When the light comes on, takes about 49~52L to fill back up to the top. I had a CG9? (1998) V6 Accord, it drank more than my shit box R33 and made like 1/4 of the power lol -
just drop ze clutch, fry all 4s.. turning circle win.

you get to a point where you realise money better spent on home audio I just run basic Vifa splits at the front with no sound deadening, Jaycar kevlar rears, a simple 4x40 RMS junk Kenwood amp, 8" Port DD sub and a 300rms cadence mono... enough doof and clarity in the car when cruising to the race track lol

I do like the audio setup, I once too spent big money on car audio on my previous R33.. however gave up on that because once the gate cracks you can't even hear yourself think hahaha

Just for reference, I make a fair whack more power than the R33 you're looking at and happily will do 12L per 100km or less on the highway using road tyres. With semis it chews heaps of fuel. -
Use a bigger rear housing

if only they installed an intercooler on those old VLs back then, could have run higher compression and better dose with more boost
-
^incorrect smaller turbos make more heat, which raises IAT and your VL ran much lower compression than a RB25DET.

with auto as you hit the brakes it needs to hold the revs a little bit before it idles or it will stall easily... also a great feature of adaptornic is you can use an input to detect when the car is in gear and up the revs.
-
better off getting an adaptronic and splicing into the loom, however direct all the injection/ignition points to the adaptronic. Also you can have idle control, etc. through the adaptronic as well as setup a dashpot/calm down effort as you go into gear.
-
Install stock bovs, install bov returns back to the intake.. oh wow everything is normal again. I suggest you refund those bovs and spend that money on blow and hookers.

I don't recommend playing with the cas if the tune was done with the wrong Base timing. Touch cas, redo through whole timing map
