  1. FYI, add another 100000 or 200000 to your odometer. My car says 146xxx judging from the amount of parts I have had to replace it's seriously got a decent 346xxx kms. A good give away for age are the castor rod bushes and all four tie rods/tie rod ends. I bet they're loose as a hoe lol
  2. Wheel alignment and sticky tyres also has an effect on economy. Driving to Wakefield Park with R compound tyres and 1mm toe out at front really chews up fue, on normal tyres I'm able to get there on about 30L of fuel on E85. On semi slicks it chews up about 40L LOL
  3. Ask scotty_nm35, he usually gets stuff a little cheaper than most shops and gives you pretty good post sales support.
  4. Next track day on the 1st June, wish me luck boys lol It's survived 3 track days already, let's hope for more. Stock FTW lol
  5. I've seen knock off trust style ones jam up after the piston deformed. Mind you, this was on a 1.5L mirage with a turbo. Imagine it on a real car, shit be melting quicker lol
  6. oh hai... forgot I made it into this club a while ago... 343kW on 1.65bar of boost (Mainline Dyno) on E85 Stock Motor, Stock Cams, Stock Head, Stock Manifold (Intake & Exhaust) Hypergear SS2 (internal gate welded shut & 3" v-band exhaust) Scotty Custom 45mm External Gate Mod on Turbo Housing Turbosmart 45mm Hypergate External Wastegate 875cc Siemen DEKA IV Top Feed Injectors Sard (fake I think) Fuel Pressure Regulator Walbro 450L Fuel Pump Splitfire Coilpacks Hybrid FMIC Plazmaman Swept Back Cooler Piping Typical 3" Exhaust System (1x Resonator, 1x Mid Muffler, 1x Fujitsubo Rear Oval Muffler) & Screamer Pipe Adaptronic ECU, self tuned
  7. How about if you have 5 20L jerry cans? I often just fill up 5 jerry cans at a time because I'm too lazy to detour to fill up all the time.
  8. well I guess if it's air tight and it's filled to the brim then it should be fine, but saying that how economical would it be to get drums delivered to your house compared to going to the petrol station for $1.30 per Litre? I'm just a little sad that there's been a push for greener & renewable energy sources but the government goes and cuts ethanol grants taking effect July 2015. Abbott's party probably will spend that money on anti abortion campaigns and funding for his daughter's career.
  9. Just bought a flex sensor and doing exactly that, spent last night scaling my map for 98 (as I don't have one) and did a basic map compare between 98 & E85 to add in the timing advance points. But what I was saying more so, that in future there might not be any E85 at pumps... that's when we are really stuffed, buying E85 in drums and storing it for prolong periods is not ideal. You'll end up with a tank of diluted vodka instead fit for some rednecks to drink.
  10. Looks like even Australia's iconic car name is dropping E85, and with Caltex scaling back E85 what hope do we have of E85 prevailing in Australia? Looks like I might have to go back to 98RON... even the price of E85 at United is ludicrous... for every 100km it would be cheaper to run 98RON. On average I do about 19L per 100km on E85 & 12L per 100km on 98RON Cost wise E85 is $1.25 per L and 98RON is about $1.55 per L Which works out: E85 $24.51 per 100KM P98 $18.60 per 100KM Considering ethanol is cheaper to make (however less demand means it cost more to transport). In the past it was about the same to run E85 compared to P98, now it's more expensive.. what about when there's even less demand? Have a read here: http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/holden-drops-e85-from-commodore-20150415-1mlhax.html Excerpt: Caltex was a major partner in the move to engineer Commodores for E85, agreeing to distribute the fuel at selected service stations. However Caltex has begun winding back the stores that offer it due to a lack of demand. "We have recently agreed to remove Bio E-Flex (E85) from the six Adelaide sites due to the transport costs incurred supplying the state from NSW (there is no local ethanol supply in South Australia)" said Caltex spokesman Sam Collyer. "The product is also being removed from one site in Sydney. We continue to review our plans for the ongoing sale of Bio E-Flex through our remaining 30 locations."
  11. or run an external with a screamer pipe, ain't nobody got time for a big exhaust My car is now more quiet than a stock SS, until I crack ze gate
  12. Convert to a single BW EFR turbo for amazing spool. Also draw a diagram
  13. Looks promising, I was going to convince my mate to get it and we try it out on his car (as he needs a new turbo anyhow).. Where are you located? I wouldn't mind having a look in person too haha
  14. Is this the Innovate MTX-L? If so, I think there's an issue with the design of the gauge causing it to kill sensors. I'm on my 3rd gauge and 2nd sensor in under 2 years. Not to mention the car doesn't get driven often. I've read on evolutionm that the gauge overheats the heater inside the sensor causing premature death.. at the same time the gauge will often die too. Luckily I bought mine through a local dealer (Game On Motorsports) so I had local support/warranty.
  15. fail highlighted
  16. LS conversion, good for skids.
  17. get some adjustable castor bushes OR new castor arms, dial in around 8 degrees of castor and run some toe in at the front and toe in at the rear too.. I personally run zero toe at the front and 1mm toe in at the rears either side.
  18. ummmmmmmmm chicken I can't see why not to be honest?
  19. Powertune do testing/cleaning Ozzie Spares do testing/cleaning I have a bag of brand new pintle caps somewhere you can have for a 6 pack of beer
  20. Great read about Competition Clutches: http://forum.jdmstyletuning.com/showthread.php?59578-Clutch-deals!/page2 So great it grenades itself.
  21. Use your recommended weight LSD Oil, something around the 80W140 range then add Penrite Limslip addictive to reduce the chatter. Alternatively, Penrite make a decent LSD oil that supposedly has a heaps of friction modifiers in it already: http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products.php?id_categ=4&=&id_products=377 I'm a little tight, so I just use Nulon SAE90 with added Limslip to keep the diff quiet and often dump the diff oil at the same time as the engine oil.
  22. that's right - they're not bad on price but the owner can be a little cocky at times
  23. or you could potentially get Garage 88 to order it for you since you're in Sydney
  24. CJ Motors does them ok (they have an eBay store too for peace of mind), or if you don't mind waiting perfectrun.co.jp OR nengun.com OR Jessie Streeter
