Got it from: https://psifilters.com.au/collections/twin-undersink-premium/products/high-flow-twin-system This one isn't a RO filter, however the above website sells them too. I was just more concerned about removing contaminates such as heavy metals, plastics, lead, and other shit you get in your regular tap water. Flow rate, about 80% of what it was before. Also the mixer already cuts flow rate down to meet those new requirements. I'll workout overall flow soon and post back. Haha old school, carb tuning. 12:1 AFR at any load, eFfiCiEnCy bRO.

No idea, I'll calculate it tomorrow 😂 There's a pressure limit valve on it, currently set to 3.5bar. Data logs might be challenging, it uses a screw driver for tuning LOL.

I know I know, Australia's drinking water is superior, etc. However when I cut apart my fridge's water filter after 6 months, I can say I'm not a believer in our water being that clean. Anyhow, decided to go with an inline water filter setup, this means there's no need to drill a hole on the bench top for a dedicated tap. Measure 5x, cut 1x. Overall, tastes like the water out of the fridge now and not like tap water.

Ross Power Steering Idler Kit
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Dose Pipe Sutututu's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Both your solutions are valid, for now the spaced bracket works and when the car is due for any kind of belt change/timing, crank trigger kit (won't be using Ross after this experience), etc. I will look into replacing the idler OR skimming off parts of it. Sigh... I hate modifying cars now. -
Ross Power Steering Idler Kit
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Dose Pipe Sutututu's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So update, Ross said they would review it and they never got back to me. After a couple of follow ups, nothing. Even tried messaging them on IG and nothing. Guess I'm not a big player (spend heaps) or have any social presence. They're happy selling products that semi work (works great if you don't have A/C) and when you try to provide constructive feedback you're met with radio silence. Guess it will just have to live with the spaced out bracket using washers - better than nothing, just annoyed I bought something that was supposed to be engineered to fit.. Oh wells, shit box Nissans. -
NZ R33 Long Term Build
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to R3N3's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Decent pads go a long way, and DBA4000 rotors are great, they seem to withstand heat cycling and not warp as easy as other cheaper brands. I personally avoid getting slotted but that's my personal preference. -
Butterfly valve on exhaust?
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to rolibaf45's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Car will just go back on with the same timing map, fuel map & boost, same type of dyno, however not the same one and my old run won't be there either. However being a Mainline Pro Hub, they seem to be quite consistent in terms of reading. -
Butterfly valve on exhaust?
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to rolibaf45's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Euro 4 or 5 or 6 spec? I'm heading down the same path (soon), however might do a 3" AES valve to bypass the cat/mid muffler and join back to the rear muffler if post turbine pressure creeps up. Similar to this: https://www.facebook.com/project7dere/posts/pfbid02TRQxyu9g19CJc1wit6yddh9WyDhjo3uabivNzsG5r5DhjWkg2ZPfgtUuLG4rGMhVl i.e. no Western Sydney GT-R mode -
Seems it's a common brand of rods for older BMW builds too.

Since you're going tits out, I would suggest this: head drain/vent (make sure the drain is above the sump oil line, if not it is pointless the biggest catch can you can fit sump breather to catch can catch can to sump drain decent sump that's baffled, the Aeroflow ones look decent (ignoring the brand) Silly RB will push oil into the catch can and it will just flow back into the sump. Happy days!

Copper vs iridium plugs for modified car?
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to silviaz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Plenty of 600kW~700kW RBs from Birrong Automotive just use NGK Copper plugs. In today's day & age of E85, you could just slap in Iridium plugs and reduce the number of times you change your plugs. I personally just use copper plugs, and get them for about $3.50 each when there are discounts on Sparesbox or Supercheap Auto, etc. I run them until the car starts to misfire and then bin them. This usually happens after a few years of use though. I still have 24 plugs on the shelf, whoever buys my car will get all the plugs, 20L of Penrite 10th Tenths, 5x Z442 oil filters, etc. LOL Duncan is a Wolf of SAU -
Kind of, one of the many factors. Any motor will have some combustion gases escape the combustion process and end up in the crank case. The more boost, the more that effect is exacerbated and that pressure generally is relieved by flowing into the head and out of the cam cover breathers. This is why you often see big RB setups with catch cans as big as their sumps, RBs love to breathe and the only way that pressure escapes is out of the cam cover breathers OR if you have a sump vent into a catch can. It's not uncommon to see a catch can have a catch can -> sump drain, sump vent, 2x cam cover fittings going into it. Meanwhile some random 2JZ or 1JZ with 700kW runs a $30 eBay catch can and it's dry lol.

Highly doubt it, as you're not using an AFM anymore. Your load calculations are via the MAP & IAT sensors.

It's ok mate, hang onto it! I can't really recall the venturi, however did you use something like this:

You couldn't be more wrong I don't wear designer label clothes, or fancy sneakers. Literally Bonds & New Balance shoes, someone on the dole dresses nicer than me for context. If there was a Japanese car that could do what the M3 Comp can do, I would consider that too. However the IS-F is lacking many things and doesn't come close. I'll go into a bit more detail this time round, so the sucks on the street part has to do with the following (high to low priority): Safety features: there are no side intrusion bars in the back (especially important when I take my son around as we don't have a 2nd daily car) No autonomous brakes (you'll be surprised how fked Sydney drivers are, will cut in front of you and slam their brakes so they can make a left/right turn, etc.) No adaptive cruise control (this is actually lower in the list, however it's semi-related to the above) I do plan to setup cruise control, once I acquire an I/O Expander to wire in the brake/clutch switch Suspension wise: Lacks adaptive damper control, something my Tiguan does very well and I love it This leads to no option to switch between damper settings, depending on the road surface Running 13kg/mm front springs and 7kg/mm rear springs also doesn't help with making the car drive nice - however it was pretty much the only way to make the car handle well. Running softer springs & thick anti roll bars is not what I like - it was shit. Smells like shit, exhaust fumes smell, catch can smells - both are something I will work on when time & budget permits. I have parts for a fabricator to weld a 10AN venturi fitting to the exhaust and plumb into the catch can Cat wise, I am thinking perhaps using 2x modern performance OEM cats in parallel - this in theory "should" support the power level and also produce a pleasant exhaust smell, etc. Manual transmission, believe it or not, I would prefer a ZF or DCT over a stick. Driving around in the Tiguan has changed me. Who would have thought a family SUV would impact me that much, but it has! Needs more sound deadening on the door skins, floor & audio system to be semi-refreshed Has Vifa front splits with ribbon tweeters, however I never put sound deadening in because I was lazy. Would be nice to get an Android auto head unit More sound deadening everywhere Replace damaged RCA cable (happened during the respray, popped on panel trim and nicked the 6x ch lead Fuel consumption, it's ridiculous, even on 98RON it's still atrocious however this is a port injected dinosaur shit box and running semi-sticky tyres does impact fuel consumption Put it this way, every time I go somewhere, I always pick the Tiguan. Both are parked in the same garage, both generally start first go. Now think of this scenario, I drop my son off at day care in the morning, drive straight to SMSP do a few laps, have lunch, do a few more, talk shit with other people that have called in sick for work, head back home have a break, pick up my son and then back home. Same tank of fuel, no jerry cans rolling around the boot, nothing smells like shit.
-
Fuel system is great, although I've delete the charcoal canister, there's still a low pressure check valve that keeps the tank pressurised until it hits 0.2 bar and bleeds. Aircon works, bought a brand new condenser when the motor went in. Sound system is moderately ok, will install a new headunit to support Android audio at some stage. Seat, well I need a seat that supports a 6 point harness, so the Bride Zeta III Plus (over sized Asian) is there. It's actually pretty comfortable believe it or not. LOL... put 2bar of boost into any RB and watch the blow by, there's a reason why most RBs have like 5~10L catch cans lol. Meanwhile our 2JZ buddies will have 700kW and use a $30 eBay catch can and it's fine. No, however with fuel foam or not it will still smell. Only way to combat this is to plumb it back into some vacuum source (I don't want to use the intake, so exhaust venturi it is) You've summed it up well, I "could" fix/bandaid/improve the issues OR just thrash it on the track then sell it after I'm super over it. "I eventually went full old white guy Bogan spec, that I do enjoy 100x more than the R33 boat" this resonates with me, minus the bogan car part. If it's a manual 135i then it's ok, however the N54 motor had a shitty VANOS system that would fail. Think of a SR20 VCT failing, however with a 135i you also get CELs - if you can flash it to just disable it, then send it and it's ok. Another this is the wastegate actuators, they seem to get loose and rattle - however not an issue for us Nissan guys but the end of the world for BMW owners. Slap on a LSD, some decent suspension and it's not too bad! They have a couple of cats and most don't make 430kW+ at the wheels. I'm thinking of perhaps running a pair of Golf R MK7 cats in parallel, would be an interesting (and expensive) exercise. Also, turns out I can't export overlay videos of the sessions. You only get segment by segment guides, however no export.

It stinks, even though it has a 100 cell cat, which probably does nothing as there are no precious metals in it. Vented catch can, smells like shit when the motor warms up (which I plan to address, have 10AN Venturi which will me welded onto the exhaust to create a vacuum pump for the catch can). Lacks all the creature comforts the VW shitbox gives me, lacks all the safety features, not enough sound deadening and gets all the wrong attention.

There's a reason for this, turns out my mate turned down the boost when he got into the car LOL. Beauty of the canbus keypad, no mysterious rocker switches or mysterious looking buttons to decipher! I will export the lap vs lap comparison @Murray_Calavera, been flat chat this week dealing with boomers and lazy karnt BDMs. @niZmO_Man haha yeah, still hate it. It's only fun when it's on the track, going to and from it sucks. Driving it on the street, it sucks. Hopefully one day someone that's intelligently gifted enough (can't use retarded these days right?) swaps me for the F80 LCI M3 😂
