Wow epic result and sex wheels, mind sharing size and offset? I've been a lazy prick with my car, I'm picking up a new ECU tomorrow and I'll start tuning soon. I don't think anyone has configured their SS2 like mine yet so it should be fun to find out what it does. Will share results and timing maps once I start.

Looks like a crow feet with holes you can mount 2 bolts that attach to the pulley. You can borrow mine if you're in Sydney somewhere near Canley Vale -
Metal Cat Opinions Plz .
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've used x-force in the past, probably about 5 years ago.. mine dislodged and rattled like a broken diesel tractor on my old R33. Previous to that I used a ceramic _us_ J__ special X-Force cat, it ended up in my exhaust system after about 18 months.. crumbled like a violet crumble lol "Perhaps" they have gotten their shit together lately. But I'm using a venom cat, looking inside it's welded onto the body and the finish is very good for a cheap cat. -
Help With Stiff Clutch Needed
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Skyride's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I can't see why not? usually discs sit completely flat with the flywheel and the other surfaces.. which has a very ON/OFF type of engagement. What the guys did was ever so slightly bend the puks on the clutch plate so there's a tiny air space when left on a surface. This means on light engagement not all of the clutch surface is used, however when the entire clamp is applied the clutch face will sit flush and provide the full clamp. Best to call/email Scott at Western Clutch in St Marys. They're really helpful and took me on a tour around their workshop showing me exactly what they did and how. That's what I call service! -
Pick Apart My Ign Map - Rb26 Tune
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to djvoodoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Look at your dyno graph and plot out where the torque peaks and beings to decay but yes you're on the right track. perhaps the range 4000 to 6400 is quite excessive, I won't tell you what exactly to do.. also keep an eye on EGTs.. don't drop timing too much -
Pick Apart My Ign Map - Rb26 Tune
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to djvoodoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Point taken on board, I actually tune my own cars and also my mate's cars. I have access to a dyno however do the bulk of my tuning on roads late at night. However in the past instead of getting constructive criticism (which I always welcome) I get responses like "good luck blowing up your motor" OR "take it to a tuner" etc.. hence the jaded and cynically response. If you compare us to forums like evolutionm.net where people openly share maps and talk about tuning, we are living under rocks. -

Pick Apart My Ign Map - Rb26 Tune
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to djvoodoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
torque drops off, less cylinder pressure so you effectively can dial in more timing hence at peak torque you take off timing, as cylinder pressures are highest.. looking at that map, it's terrible.. there's more timing at peak torque than after peak torque..... feel free to PM me to chat, I don't like talking about this stuff on the public forum as people like to have stabs at me. -

in my opinion, that's quite a lot of timing in that map on load (but could be due to the CAS being retarded) what's your EGT reading when you're on full noise? -

Help With Stiff Clutch Needed
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Skyride's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Also depends how the pressure plate is set up. If you've ever driven a car with a NPC clutch you'll be amazed how soft and how little effort is required to press the pedal. To give you an idea, a NPC 1800 kg pressure plate will feel like you're driving a Yaris. However the way they're setup, it's also OFF and ON.. and a total bastard to drive. However, clutch specialists have a way of setting up clutch plates so they engage differently by slightly creating a void between the pressure plate & clutch disc. I recently had mine "tricked" up, and I can tell you the pedal is as light as a Yaris and also it's quite drivable and has no on and off siet.. the clamp has been reduced to 1700kg however that's more than enough for my fridge.
