  1. I actually fitted 3AN Teflon lines from the valve to the wastegate. Had too many issues with hoses popping off at the track so full sent it with AN fittings. And Birrong Automotive are great, love their RBs.
  2. I run a 4 port solenoids, however I don't recommend it for everyone. In the past when I could be bothered working on other people's car for beer and cash I would generally fit 3 ports sourced from efisolutions aka taarks back in the day. https://www.efisolutions.com.au/3-port-mac-valve-boost-control-solenoid
  3. Depends on valve type, but that setup would be easier to control boost. Most will use this style of MAC valve. And you would plumb it like this
  4. A 3 port is much easier to tame, a 4 port can be a bit harder to tame. Took me a while to get the boost curve I wanted on the dyno with the help of Alex at Birrong Automotive. He advised to keep dropping the frequency in order to give more control.
  5. Very promising feedback, especially the EFR setup you had was a twin scroll setup, vs. this in an open configuration. Makes the decision easy for many in future hopefully. Part of me wants to upgrade to G35-900 now 😂
  6. If memory serves me correctly I dropped it to 12hz. Any higher and every 1% of DC was moving like 0.25 bar of boost lol.
  7. 4 port solenoid dis dat, just run them at lower frequencies and you have decent control. FWIW I go from 0.5 bar to 2.0 bar with ease (just can't hold 2.0 bar past peak torque because out of compressor).
  8. Canbus keypad solves all these issues with 1 or 2 stages or rocker switches (ewww). You could setup a few different power levels and different rev limiters on your keypad.
  9. I would use the ECU for boost control, a bit silly using an external boost controller. Your ECU could trim boost based on engine temp, ethanol concentration, oil temp, knock, etc. An eBoost can't do that.
  10. Wow that sounds terrible, I find in VAG cars, the adaptive cruise by default is set fo leave a massive gap, which is fine however it opens up enough space for people to cut in then slow down in front of you lol. However 2x taps on the wheel and you can change it quite easily. I haven't experienced adaptive cruise in other cars, only my Tiguan, SQ5, Golf, T-Roc, and they all behaved quite similar.
  11. Looks like the new turbo setup is working well!
  12. Late 2018+ you can't use the voltage hack to disable stop start anymore ☹️ I use OBDeleven to disable the undertaking, throttle delay, tighten up the Haldex, etc. However ECU flash was done by an APR dealer.
  13. The only issue I have with it, is when it takes off in traffic it can be a bit aggressive, however this is self inflicted because I've flashed the car and also removed the DBW throttle delay 😂
  14. Need a good TikTok dance before changing a flat tyre.
  15. It's the best, I love it. Even in bumper traffic it's great.
  16. Wheel bearing, this happened on my shit box R33 as well.
  17. @ActionDan thanks bro! Yeah might as well just keep it in the garage, cbf dealing with 20 year old kids that want to offer $20k for it. @Jasoncauser the Subarus might tick a few boxes, but the CVT box is just woeful. I cannot stand it, also they have fk all sound deadening too. I might end up with a 2nd Tiguan, who knows LOL. I do want a station wagon though, can jam in a pram, esky and other shit for mini trips. The Tiguan, although "appears" big actually has a very short boot which doesn't allow for much.
  18. If you're going to at least attempt any kind of electric fan, get a shroud and a 16" Spal fan, or a pair of decent twin 12" Spal or Flex-a-Lite fans.
  19. In addition, we'll need 2x family movers (especially with another kid on the way).
  20. Yeah, I think no one in their right mind would give me $55~$60k for my car, although it would cost much more to replicate (once you factor in all the tuning hours put into it with multiple tables, scaling, etc.). At present I'm looking at these options 2019+ Skoda Octavia 162TSI 2019+ Skoda Superb 162TSI 2019+ VW Passat 140TSI 2019+ VW Golf R Wagon In no particular order, just needs AEB, Lane Assist, Adaptive cruise and needs to be sub $30k & 70k kms.
