Greg Kruse Tech lol.. Funny enough he's bought a F80 M3 and racing it. I sense GKtech parts for it now. He does post things on what he plans to do and you can tell the BMW FBO purists are eye twitching and getting all hot and bothered LOL... It's like getting a custom exhaust, using SP Mufflers, an AES valve, etc. BMW fan boys will all have heart attacks.

Bi-monthly contribution to the car industry, seems weekly at this velocity lol. Needed an undertray to protect debris and stuff flying into the engine bay which may or may not have caused my power steering belt to pop off at the track. Turns out OEM plastic one is quite hard to come by so this alloy one was chosen instead. They're readily available and also cheaper than a brand new OEM one. Oh yeah new dust sheilds for the rose joints because Black Friday sale dis dat.

Building a rb25det to 300-350rwkw
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Samgenovese's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Might as well aim for 450kW, build a motor once and enjoy it. Make 350kW on a 2 decade old motor with supposedly 130k km, it might last, it might not... Remove the uncertainty and just build it. -
Keeping up my (on average) monthly donation to the car industry and Nissan. Should stop my engine bay being sprayed with oil (turns out my oil cap was missing a seal lol). Also the reverse switch should fix my reverse lights flickering off and on when I engage reverse.

or go ghetto and hook an a electronic boost gauge to a damper & coil on the turbo housing or exhaust manifold flange. You'll understand what the turbo is doing pretty quickly with that data
-
Really only safest way is to get an emap installed or turbine speed sensor or both and send it. I feel you'll be very knock limited as you move away from efficiency island and your emap shoots up. I recall it's on 98RON? What's your ideal power goals and when you want to see peak torque?
-
Really depends on your requirements of the car and how you use it. More power is great but you always sacrifice something for it.

All Jap Day (really just a Powercruise day with 10min sessions of circuit) Date: 2022/11/19 Car Make and Model: R33 GTS-t S2 (Shit Box) Circuit Name: Sydney Motorsport Park GP Circuit Lap time: 2m02s Top Speed: 226km/h, smashed the limiter in 4th at the end of the run lol Timing method: Race Chrono (didn't know where to pick up the Natsoft timer) Engine: RB25DET NEO Power: 438rwkW Suspension: MCA X-R, usual shit, subframe moved up 10mm Tyres: Hankook RS-4 Z232 265/35/18 200TW Brakes: 350Z Brembos (F), Stock (R). Intima RS all round First time ever on the circuit, and had a very short session. This was the 2nd session where I managed that time, my 1st session the times were 2m7 to 2m10s. I hope to give it another crack soon with the car as-is, same tyres and all. Hoping a sub 2 minute lap. Watching the footage, plenty of opportunities to be had. Just need more seat time

Can you run 100+ in a rb25de
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Thatlaurel's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
so easy right? no need to even tune or do anything fancy... spray nitrous, add fuel till AFRs are good. -

get a Nitrous wet kit, spray & make sure your AFRs are good -
and also a regular OEM mechanic shouldn't build performance engines... One of my mates did that for his S15, it died after 3x track days. He learnt his lesson, albeit an expensive lesson.

Don't bother with this unless you want over 500kW
-
My suggestion is to leave the motor as is, but at least get an extended sump. Aeroflow do decent ones with a 10AN return already welded on. Fit ARP studs in, slap your turbo setup on and send it. Keep power in the 350kW region and it will live. Once you open up Pandora's box, shit goes south.
-
at that point you might as well just go for a basic rebuild, with H beams & pistons What's the car's intent? street duties or drags/roll/circuit?
-
If you want that kind of power and a working oiling system, that crank needs to come out and a collar put on
-
I've used billet gears, I don't recommend it. Just get a Nitto pump from the get go, a big sump, don't get Bosch 2000/2200cc (they're CNG junk), convert to DBW. Also 400kW rear wheel won't last too long with a R33 RB25DET motor, I would aim about 350kW for longevity.

Inner hoon coming out Rolling Anti-lag demo That's right 8600rpm rev limiter in a RB25
-
Funny enough I did not log any data, ironically I even have a datalog button too! There is a minimum oil pressure requirement of 2 bar past 3k rpm. No dash lights, no power cut so must have been fine lol.
-
haha she saw it, she's glad the car didn't come home on a tilt tray LOL. I'll cut up the hoon clips in a bit, it's kind of boring as you don't get the out of car perspective. It's suction cupped onto the interior dome light lens LOL

Dose video and trying to break traction in a car setup for grip. Had one person ask how on earth I had all this grip. (I'm the car being recorded for anyone wondering lol).

Wideband sensor on decat pipe
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to kevboost7's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just make sure you that decat pipe is sealed well to the front pipe and you'll have no issues. Just your reading during transient throttle might be a tiny bit delayed however if fed back to the ECU it's ignored anyway during transient events. -
It's nearly done, what you talking about? A few more nuts and bolts and you're ready lol.
-
Just Send It lol... Now you can understand why I constantly break things lol.. Definitely great putting the face to the name! I was surprised there were like only like 5 or 6 cars during the times sessions. I didn't pick up my transponder (wasn't told where) hence I just used Race Chrono instead. Haha.. M3 would have done the entire event with 1x tank of fuel. I smashed 1.5 tanks yesterday lol.
