Tomei oil pump has resistance
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to matty42o's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
A poor man pays twice, famous words and often repeated by @Piggaz I've gone through both Spool v1.0 and v2.0 hears, have used both the original housing and then a brand new N1 housing. Both times saw pitting on the gears, however the 2nd pump I suspect was sucking up air too when the sump was drained around a few bends at the track thus costing a motor. I was going to salvage the 2nd pump, but my current engine builder insisted on throwing it into the bin and going with a tried/tested/proven Nitto pump that delivers consistent pressure and will happily handle high RPM. FWIW my motor happily revs over 8500rpm. -

This is my opinion (feel free to ignore), but since your motor is out I would just not stuff about and straight up install a Nitto oil pump and Nitto crank collar. I've used v1.0 of those said billet gears and they ate themselves up, albeit was installed in an old factory housing. There appeared to be a high amount of cavitation causing pitting on the gears - most likely from me sitting on the limiter like a tool. Anyhow that motor died, 2nd motor went in and my current engine builder advised not to stuff about with swapping out gears and what not and just to get a Nitto pump straight off the bat. -
Stock Rb25det Fuel Economy?
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to b1ancardi's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
no back to back numbers, however with wideband 02 closed loop, you're always correcting fuel regardless of the load you're at (depending on how you've set the closed loop strategy to work) not to mention the rate of change/correction is much faster than say a PowerFC or stock ECU. Also with an aftermarket ECU you can command you cruise at say 15.2:1 instead of 14.7:1.. instant fuel savings there. -

Time for a modern ECU with wideband O2 and closed loop O2 strategy. -
Is your catch can vent to atmosphere? A bit hard to see in your photos. You will need it with big boost and a motor that may have slightly bigger ring gaps for big power. On boost the crank case will need to breathe through the oil galleries then through the head/cam covers/head drain (crank case vent really). Sure the sump oil return is there to "return" oil but you'll find it will end up being another crank case vent on boost lol. The one way valve is a neat trick however you'll just overwhelm the other paths. I think to really get this to work, you'll need 2x sump vents (either side) to a catch can, cam covers to the catch can and a big atmospheric vent. The 2x sump vents will also act as drains when needed. FWIW, I have a 5.5L catch can in my shit box. So far the trip to Luddenham for its first shakedown has shown the setup works.

Our beloved Skyline shit boxes run double A arms / double wishbone, so there's not that much lateral stresses on the strut towers say to those with MacPherson struts. As @Duncan said, they're just a decorative piece. Just gives it more of that JDM y0 wank lol... Yeah I run one too, just to say I have a Cusco strut brace, albeit I powder coated the entire thing black because the Cusco colours look aids.

it has nothing to do with the A/C, the overheat fan is on its own circuit. -
Oh trust me, if someone came to me and said I'll straight swap you my F80 LCI Comp I would do it... beg for forgiveness later. Mrs Dose Pipe said you're not allowed to sell the R33 because you're an idiot and will end up with another.

If so, someone has cocked about with your wiring. The above diagram is from a Nissan Manual, you're telling me they decided to print the wrong information and wire it differently?
