  1. Why is nearly everyone on this JDM bias forum saying this? 😭
  2. Stress testing and iterative improvement strategy. Evergreen solution to a car build.
  3. There we go, I was wrong Happy to admit it too, unlike Facebook - where most will argue they're right even if they're wrong!
  4. @GTSBoy always good to get your technical perspective, hence the tag
  5. I think I need a diagram to visualise this lol
  6. Theoretically you shouldn't move it, because if you do your TDC will be offset. By ret4rding the cam gear, you're just ret4rding the exhaust cam and it's unfortunate the CAS is running off the exhaust cam. If you resync it, then your entire timing map will be off. Those are my thoughts, happy to be corrected by someone at least 3x smarter than me @GTSBoy lolol
  7. Yes, if you're using a PowerFC door stopper or a stock ECU If you're using a configurable one, you can set whatever voltage is the floor for the the ECU to you know you're at 0% throttle to enable the idle strategy and/or decel fuel cut. Really hard to say, best way is to incrementally ret4rd it on the dyno and graph the differences between runs.
  8. LOL... I've had a taste of adaptive cruise, lane assist and autonomous braking and unfortunately those Jap dictator cars don't have those features Too many morons on the road - and we know computers react faster than humans. Tiguan has saved me from rear ending a few cars and a dog's life when he ran across the road. Car stopped for me then threw on the hazard lights automatically - cool aye? LOL they're ugly bro LOL... Sure, $60k and comes with a free built & resprayed R33 lol I think the best solution is I have 3x cars, but that's not possible because if I park both in the garage and the family car is outside my wife would not be very happy getting in/out of the car in cold/rain, etc. If I park one of the shit boxes outside, it will get stolen within hours where I live lol.
  9. WOT is wide open throttle, Nistune allows you to adjust the minimum voltage before the idle strategy is enabled. Easier to leave it how it was before as the TPS calibration in Nistune isn't as straight forward as a modern ECU.
  10. You should have left it as is! Your tuner would have already calibrated the voltage range in your ECU. If you play around with it your ECU won't know what a WOT and idle condition is anymore. Since you've played with it, you will need to recalibrate your TPS in your ECU (I recall you're using a Haltech) - not a hard task, but you've essentially just undone his/her work. Try ret4rd it by 3~5 degrees however you'll need to take some timing out in your peak load area - best to be done on a dyno to load hold and knock detection.
  11. Your cranking table and prime table needs work.
  12. I'll even supply tyres lol. Let's see, maybe we might move even sooner! In other news just got under stairs cabinets fitted, Chris from Concinnity Kitchens did a fabulous job. Better than the other guys that re-did our laundry and light years ahead of the property developer's builders. On the pointy end is actually a blind cabinet too, other designs the end point is just closed off. More space to store junk (or car parts 🥲)
  13. I think at some stage when the kid(s) are out of school, my wife and I would probably move to Adelaide. We could sell up here, move to a nicer area, bigger house, next to the beach/25min from the CBD and break even! Just right now our jobs/livelihood is attached to Sydney CBD. LOL... that's very hurtful for GT-R owners with twins
  14. well.... that would be ideal, however having only a double garage, no backyard and no space for a shed means can't have 2x toys Not sure who/how I can rent a M3 and allow to drive it how I drive all my cars - however that could be a way to properly experience it
  15. OSKO seems to sometimes hold payments for 24 hours (at varying amounts), there might be a bank algorithm that does a risk assessment and challenges you with a 24 hour hold period. I've had payments go through instantly and at times small amount being held for 24 hours before they're released to the recipient.
  16. I'm quite set on a 4 door car, easier to move the family around than a 2 door, seater car. M2 "could" work but 4 doors would make life easier. LOL... I'm sure the dash has been wound back by Edward Lees, the previous 10x owners (previous owner I recall said he was the 2nd owner in Australia).
  17. Just buy mine when you're ready, everyone on SAU knows me and the entire history (and my house renovations) are in my build thread LOL. Happy for bank transfer at the bank, and then keys/paperwork, etc. all done in the branch.
  18. @robbo_rb180 totally agree with you there, instant coffee is comparable to a well done steak. It's just dreadful! For the money these machines are packed with value and it's making coffees that are actually better than my local cafe! However I suppose that also depends on the bean choice and the grind size. Good question, I'm not too sure either. I really need to get off my arse and tune the car too. No joke, I've driven it 5 times since I've gotten it back from fabrication. Been so busy being a dad, and work just barely have time to be a child myself lol. I'm aiming to work on the tune in the next month or so 😊 And great idea, should properly document the car and do a proper feature video on it. Might fetch the kind of money that makes moving to a M3 even easier lol
  19. In other news, espresso machine broke again, this time the pump failed. Ordered a new one and Sendle the pricks took 2 weeks to get it from WA to NSW. Meanwhile I ordered a phone for my mum from Amazon UK and it came in 4 days! Been drinking a mix of cold drip, instant coffee (yuck) and the local cafe for the past 2 weeks. So good to get proper coffee going again! At the same time I did all the temp probe and boiler hose seals. Lucky I did too, because they were all brittle when I removed the original seals. Overall, pretty solid machine. We've had it for 7 years and on average before covid we would pull 4x shots a day, now as my wife and I predominantly work from home it's seeing on average 6 to 10 shots a day (higher end when the in laws come over to look after our son). Previously the 3x way water solenoid died but that seems to be a common issue with these Breville Dual Boilers. Pretty happy with this espresso machine, the volumetric and PID controlled boiler always gives me consistent extraction.
  20. I want to sell the entire car actually 😂 But will go track it a few times and hit the drag strip before that happens.
  21. Those words always come back to haunt you.
  22. A few twin turbo advocates here turned single turbo activists. That's saying something. One guy *cough* Pig.. *cough* gaz famously said "I wouldn't change a thing" on his twin GT-RS RB26 with Tomei brap cams. Well not sure whatever happened to that setup.
