  1. The Hks gt2535 has a fair amount more lag than the standard unit. In my application it is fitted to an rb20 using a front mount cooler (lots of pipe work ), matching dump pipe ect. ect. 3000rpm is 5psi 4000rpm is 15psi and 4400 rpm is 18 psi It has a .60 comp housing and .64 exhaust housing. The set up has made 196 rwkw at 1.3 bar on 2 different dynos in sydney both on hot days (35+ in dyno cell). This figure does seem a little low but really only when compared to the tilbrook dyno figures for the same set up. Tim.
  2. I bought my 2535 2nd hand for $2200 it was in excellent condition and came with a matching hks split dump pipe, all braided lines and first intercooler pipe. Tim.
  3. Thanks for the info. I will look it up on the computer at work (iam a spray painter). I just hope that it is listed on the computer as this colour has not been used in australia and bayside blue did not come up under nissan. Thanks Tim.
  4. Does anyone know the paint code for r34 gtr blue ? Thanks Tim.
  5. I have a 4 puck brass button clutch with a sprung centre and it is not to hard to use in traffic but bites hard when u need it to.
  6. Yes you may need to use a fair amount of force to break the seal . I have just finished removing my wing, covering up the holes left and repainting my bootlid. Looks great !
  7. If you are only going to have 205 wide tyres than i suggest you keep the power down to below 180rwkw. I have 196 rwkw and when i put 205s on the back there is a huge amount of wheel spin in 2nd gear when boost hits. Great fun but i dont think this is how you want your car to drive all the time. You would have even more wheel spin as your car is about 100kg's lighter. Tim.
  8. Thanks for the help. I think i will get a genuine one as 116 is alot cheaper then i thought. Tim.
  9. I need to replace my water pump as it has been leaking water. I would like to replace it with a new one if possible. will a vl comodore one fit ? or where could i buy one new ? Thanks Tim.
  10. The 3 litre would be great but i think to expensive as he only wants to spend about 6000 to do the conversion including an exhaust system and intercooler. ( he will do all labour himself ). what would you expect to pay for a low k's rb25 with computer, loom and gearbox ? what other parts eg crossmember, would be needed? Thanks Tim.
  11. I have a mate that owns a vl and he wants to make it get up and go. I have sugested an rb25det. How easily do they fit into a vl ? Why do most people go for the rb20 instead ? cost ? About how much would the conversion cost ? I need to know all complications that are involved in this conversion. Thanks Tim.
  12. Yes iam running 1.3 bar on BP ultimate with a computer remap by chiptorque Should find out my problem next week as it is going back on the dyno.
  13. I have the same problem with my r32 Running 19 psi through a hks gt2535 and a rechipped computer it misses at about 5000 rpm. Have tried lots of different things to fix it with no luck yet. Iam now running a gap of .65 and when i did this it developed a miss at idle (like adam32) . This does not worry me as all i want is for it to rev cleanly to redline.
  14. Yes my a/fs are fine, they checked it on the dyno. I rang my tuning shop today and they said to try a .65 gap, so i will do that tomorrow and if that does not work then i will try a different ignitor. If i turn my boost down below 1 bar then there is no problem and when i run over that it only misses once the car is fully warmed up. I have about 15 psi at about 4000rpm and the miss is sometimes inconsistant. Sometimes it will miss a bit then let you rev it out but most of the time it misses real bad and i back off.
  15. I have a very bad miss at about 4500 rpm and after puting it on a dyno to see what was going on they told me i had 2 coils (1&5) that were breaking down, so i replaced both of them and the miss is still there. I am running 1.3 bar with a .8 gap. should i run a smaller gap ? if so, then why would it only break down on 2 cylinders ?
  16. Iam allso in need of a shift light and would like to get an autometer one. About how much is the pencil type one and the control unit that goes with it ? How much for the larger type and the pill kit that u need ?
  17. Well done cam, its a shame that we didnt get to see the cars true potential after all the work you put into it, but iam sure it wont take you long to get back on the strip. If you have them, could you post your mph ?
  18. Yes chiptourqe tuned it with injectors and z32 afm.
  19. Injectors were $180ea. yes thats expensive but they are very good injectors and and i didnt have much choice. Not sure of wheel sizes but exhaust housing is .64 and compressor is .60. (iam going to find out wheel sizes). The first dynotune for my first setup was done in newcastle at SDT. (137RWKW @ 11PSI )
  20. My car made 196 rwkw @ 1.3 bar (19.5 psi ). It would have been good to crack the 200 mark but it is close enough. Dave at SAS, has told me that with the setup i have now it is safe to run that boost as long as i dont plan to circuit race the the car. Dave allso said that that other rb20's with the same setup and running 1.3 bar normally make around the 200rwkw mark on his dyno. So i think it may read a bit low as i would have expected more power at that boost. SAS ended up buying and fitting brand new Rochester 50lb (480cc) injectors as 550's of any sort would have been difficult to controll at idle. Car now goes like a rocket but i have hardley had time to use the power as soon after i picked it up from dyno it developed a boost leak in cooler piping which causes car to miss badly because afm is sending different signal.
  21. see first post
  22. and the dump pipe
  23. Pic of new turbo
  24. Thanks meggala, yes i have a z32 afm being fitted. i will try to find seires 5 injectors. Tim
