Autometer boost gauge There is a vacum line that goes from the intake manifold to the fuel presure reg (CRD fitted a new one). The boost gauge, PFC and the boost controller are all plumbed into this line. Thanks.

I have an R32 GTR with R34 N1's, PFC, Blitz Dual SBC and lots of other stuff. It recently got tuned by Jim at CRD and made 285 AWKW @ 20psi. (Jim said his gauge was only showing 17 but it showed 20psi on my gauge on the street.) After a trip home from Sydney I noticed that by my gauge I was only running 15psi and not 20 any more. I had not touched the boost controler or anything else. The PFC handset use to show about 1.35 to 1.4 bar when the gauge showed 20psi. Now at 15psi on the gauge it still shows about 1.28 bar on the handset. I tried to turn the boost up at the controller to see what sort of control I had but it required a big increase at the controller to get a small increase on the gauge. It didnt really want to go over 17-18 on the gauge. So, at first i thought it may have been a leaking cooler pipe so i checked all them and they are fine now. I then removed the 'out' hose from the boost control solenoid in order to basically stop the controler from controlling the wastegates. This resulted in the turbos spinning freely to 20psi on the gauge where I back off. So from this i take it I can rule out a leak or a stuffed turbo ?? The strange thing was that the PFC hand controler showed 1.6 bar peak hold at 20psi on the gauge, when it use to only show about 1.4. So I have a few problems here I think. How did I loose 5psi on the gauge?? Does it mean my boost controller is playing up because when it is conected to the gates it wont allow over 15psi ?? Why is the PFC showing me strange and inconsistant figures ?? Any help with this would be great. Thanks. Tim.

I will be going to race my GTR in the drags at the wellington airport. Although it is a toyota event, all cars are wellcome and I have a few friends that own some quick toyotas. It is also only 1h45min from here. There will also be a 10sec 2.7GTR there from newcastle along with at least 2 1J powered cars with over 600 hp. Tim.

I live in Bathurst. Only been here for about 8 months. Its great living so close to the best race track in Australia. Should be able to do a few more events up there this year. Esses descent sounds interesting. Tim.

I had a great weekend and was happy with my times considering it was my first event ........ with corners Had lots of fun taking on 2 tricky and famous pieces of road. Good to meet you all and it was good to see a few skylines and other imports at this type of event. I think i need a few tips from Greg as he really knows how to push a GTR to its Limits. Well done Greg. The silver GTR seems to be well set up and driven. It would be interesting to find out what his engine mods are as that may explain why it sounds SO different to other GTRs. 3L ?? or could a set of cams make it sound like that? Tim.

Today I joined BLCC, got a cams licence and entered Speed weekend. I got the last spot in the Hill climb. It is now booked out with about 85 cars. About 15 spots left in the supersprint and they will take 100 all up for that event. Anyone know what sort of timing equipment is used for these events? Does the timing start when u break the beam like at the drag strip or does the time include your reaction time? Tim.

I will be there Saturday and Sunday. I have always watched it on tv but now that I live here I will be going up to watch. Its going to be huge this year. Heaps of people in town already. Saw all the team trucks parade down the main street today. Tim.

I ended up getting Falken 452's from Payless in Chatswood. Very happy with them so far. Got a quote for the federal 595RS in 255/35/18 from payless - $410.

Not the best cruise I have been on, but that is understandable. Still a good bit of road out there. It was the first time had had driven on it. We will have to do it again some time and I may actually be able to meet some of you under better circumstances.

I was also under the impression that all 4 tyres on a GTR need to be the same width in order to keep the attessa system happy. If not, I would run 265's on the rear and 255 up front. I could get both front and rear in 35 series so that the rolling diameter stays the same. Can anyone else confirm ? Thanks Tim.

I was quoted $434 each for 255/35/18 for these tyres. Does that price sound about right ?

Thanks for the replies. Ronin 09 ...... So you have those wheels fitted to an R32? Do they rub on the front guards at full lock? What is the offset for R34 GTR wheels? 700HP-GTR33 ....... I got the Bronze ones. Get them tomorrow. Now just got that difficult tyre choice.
