  1. Hey guys A few days ago i noticed an unusual noise coming from my motor after as soon as it cranks over on a cold start. Within a couple of seconds after the motor has cranked over this weird humming/grinding noise was apparent. On cold start it is very audible (sounds like a cow mooing), when revved increases in pitch, quiets down somewhat after a few minutes then once warm it is very quiet/not even noticeable. Last couple of times I've started the car in the mornings I've left my bonnet open to find the source - It seems to be coming from the turbo side of the motor if not the turbo itself. I'm hoping the turbo isn't eating itself away as a couple of weeks ago I've installed a manual boost controller and set it to 12-13psi (stock RB20 turbo) - car is still boosting fine to 12psi, goes exactly as hard as before i heard the noise so it's got me scratching my head. My car has turbo-back exhaust, fuel pump, front mount, filter, ecu remap. I'll be taking my car to my mechanic so he can have a look at it in the next few days but just want to see what people on here might think this could be or have had this sort of problem before. Cheers, Steve.
  2. Hey Nic! Great to see that you're moving even further ahead with your R32 - That paint/wheel combination will look sooo good! Great choice there. BTW i just got my boost controller installed and dialed in at about 12-13psi and the car has responded very and goes heaps harder. Bit of tight squeeze to try make the dyno day today but will update you whenever i get another chance to put the car on the rollers. SEE THIS MAN FOR YOUR REMAPPING NEEDS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! All the best with your car mate. Cheers Steve.
  3. Hey mate, as bubba advised I'd be looking through the RB20 dyno results thread up top of the forced induction modification section. For a comparison i had my car on the dyno over 3 months ago with everything stock (motor, turbo, injectors etc) bar the following modifications: - Hybrid type 600x300x76 FMIC - gktech dump + front pipe 3" - high flowed std cat - 3.5" cat-back - Apexi Power Intake - Bosch 040 fuel pump Without the boost touched i managed 159.0rwkw or 213.22whp running real rich AFR's and pretty flat through the mid-range. My car will be placed again on the dyno tomorrow morning after having my std ECU remapped to suit these mods that touched up some ignition timing, lean up the fuel mixtures and got rid of a few restrictions. I'll update you soon. If you want more power an easy upgrade would be to an RB25 turbo and add a little more boost. If looking for a lot more power for a lot more money go a 2530, bugger injectors and probably Z32 AFM with a new tune to suit.
  4. I'd say mid 13's should be on the cards at least - From what i remember a few years back when i got a seat in that thing it was mighty quick and had me smiling for a while BTW, I'm your mate Steve's cousin if you remember. I'm hoping to tap into the 13's with my car: stock RB20 + 3" split dump&front / high-flow cat / 3.5" cat-back + FMIC + bosch 040 pump + APexi power intake + remap (boost restrictor/speedcut removed + ignition timing advanced with new fuel map) 160kw atw before remap, was quoted a 10-15kw gain after remap & between 10-12 pound ATM - car running extremely well. Cheers, Steve.
  5. Happy Birthday Abu! All the best mate and hope you had a good one. Give the members a birthday skid!
  6. All the best with the sale Trent - Those wheels are amazing and well worth the money. Wish i had a larger income
  7. Your BEST and only option if you don't want your car looking like a truck is to get a roll done. I've got R33 GT-R wheels on my R32 GTS-t with coilovers and 235/45 rubber all round - it scrubbed violently over rough surfaces, even after i tried lowering the car and the wheels sat in a little it was still useless before i had a guard roll. My guards did not get flared out as it was unnecessary with these wheels - only the lip got folded inward with no dramas and the guard looks like normal: Cheers, Steve.
  8. Thanks mate....Style of exhaust looks a little worse in the photos as it's dirty. As soon as i polish up the muffler it looks sweet and is a decent size aswell which does the trick....nice fat cannon would look better though i agree. I used Urethane to bond it to the boot, it does the trick as long as no one tries to pull it off That Fcucking dint came from some mutt banging a trolley/door into it while i was at work Real pissed off about that - Not sure if i can get it flattened out or not as it looks more like a kink than anything. Find me a direct replacement fat cannon and i'll swap my exhaust for it - 3.5" BTW after the cat.
  9. Just a few quick snaps with my new N1 spoiler lip - as requested by Abu!
  10. Hey Abu, shame the wheels don't suit your liking....I think R33 GT-R wheels will look the bomb. You're more than welcome to trial fit mine if you like I was thinking of powdercoating my wheels black again but need some more dough and don't know if it will suit so great - standard silver is really good. In regards to your lip i would prefer it black, even though color matching gives it that lower appeal. BTW got the N1 lip on my car....Now i need to take some new photos All the best, Steve.
  11. With or without enclosed lid it is still defectable anyway as I've also got an FMIC - My stock airbox is sitting under my bed if i ever do get defected but I'm not fussed. My pod sits too high and making a lid would look ugly as there would be a big bulge in it. Ben: I made sure my heat shield was cut out to specific dimensions by making a cardboard template so it sits in as tight as possible. I was gong to drill a hole and feed through an existing screw just behind one of the bends next to the strut tower but there was no need as it's real tight and doesn't move anywhere without one. For those not wanting to cut a hole for an CAI for legality issues by all means don't do it - There's a couple of other ways you could probably squeeze some piping in but would probably mean a less efficient passage for air to flow through and a smaller diameter pipe. I've already cut through a plate for my FMIC so i couldn't care less about cutting another hole through a thin plate for the CAI anyway - I believe there are holes there on the R32 GT-R for the intercooler piping so i doub't it will affect the structural integrity of the R32 at all.
  12. Hehe cheers Abu - I was going to make it like my cousins airbox but my pod sits too high up and couldn't be bothered getting an elbow made up to extend the pod further. The shield is enough to prevent most hot air from being sucked in anyway.
  13. For my heat shield I went to my nearest Bunnings - Just as for an Alluminium sheet of 0.5mm thickness. You can then choose how large you want the sheet to be as they've got cuts already made. As benm said create a cardboard template as it will will save you plenty of hassles.
  14. The plate i cut through was very thin. It's the only thing you need to cut through to feed a pipe from the hole to the front of your car. All i did was draw a 70mm circle and drilled around the lines very closely then punched it out. The drill went through without much effort. For a better reference just make sure you're not drilling into anything else underneath as there's only a small section you can cut through - probably best to remove your front bar and have a look underneath where you're planning on making it.3 Hope that helps. Cheers, Steve.
  15. Just as rsx84 explained it is how mine is set up - Here's how it looks: Should give you a good idea. Cheers. Steve.
  16. WTF - Never thought i'd see this thing up for sale! I'm shattered for you Abu! This thing is sooo fcking mint i love it! Inspirational car - Can't believe you're selling it! All the best with your sale anyway, I'm sure it will be snapped up real fast if people know what they're looking at. You're nuts lmao. You're more than welcome to keep my car for a few months and build it up for me if you ever have any abandonment issues with getting rid of your car Take it easy mate.
  17. Yeah definately helped me out big time when installing my boost guage - Much appreciated!
  18. Just ask for an Alluminium sheet of 0.5mm thickness. Then you can choose how large you want the sheet to be as they've got cuts already made. Well done on the effort again Steve Very neat and looks professional. I'm changing mine to just the side heat shield - decided not to make a top cover as i can't be bothered. BTW i might need to borrow a drill off ya Cheers, Steve.
  19. If you're referring to the type i have on my car, I've got no idea as well: All i know is that it's 3.5" from cat-back (possibly mild-steel? I dunno) with 2 big oval mufflers and 3.5" tip - Only markings i could find on the exhaust was under the muffler where it had the JASMA Japanese emissions label stamped on. I'm also interested to see if anyone knows about manufacturers that have produced these type of exhausts. Cheers, Steve
  20. LOL we talking about Eagles Cue? I think on tuesdays they've got a tightass 2 for 1 offer - Pay for 1 hours play and get 2 hours on the table Pool is so frustrating to play, but sounds good to me - got the day off
  21. How the fcuk did i miss this!?!?! I would've been in sunshine in 2 minutes damn it! Ball scratching FTL Someone PM me when this shit happens again - Shattered.
  22. Hey Matt hows it going? I've got no problem with you bringing out your Senator and didn't have a problem with chirks coming out for a drive - Was a laugh when you brang it out later on and at maccas Had a blast that night. Would've cruised past tonight to see if anything was going down but i was busy unfortunately. Definately keeping my eye out on the next organised meet - I'll most definately be there. Cheersl, Steve.
  23. I also can't believe they talked you out of the turbo installation. I was looking forward to seeing your outcome as i'm going down the same path myself relatively soon. All i need is the turbo and re-map. Very unfortunate for you mate, but if i were you i'd look into another work shop and get them to put it in for you, from what i've seen and read it will definately be a worthy upgrade. If you're content with the way your car is now and want to sell your RB25 turbo with supporting bits for the RB20 consider me very interested and throw a price my way. Please let me know as soon as you've come to a decision. Cheers, Steve.
  24. 92' R32 GTS-t Mods: - Internally standard RB20 - GKTech split dump+front 3" - super high-flow cat tongue.gif - 3.5" cat-back - Apexi Pod - Hybrid Front-Mount - Bosch 040 Pump - Running on standard boost = 159.0rwkw - Pretty happy with that. Cheers, Steve.
  25. I got insider info that BP will be introducing 102 unleaded in Aus in the next couple of years. Hopefully it's reliable
