Check the Nissan R32 service manual. Chassis section page 57 to 113. It's writen on the top of every page. The entire section refers to ATTESSA E-TS Electronic Control Torque Split 4WD System. Can't post it as its a BIG pdf file. Anyway, I don't care, I'm not pedantic. As long as we all know what it does.

It's spelt ATTESSA if you're realy padantic

All R32 gtr's do not have finned diff covers. V-spec, early model and the AUS versions did. Models after 93 do not have finned diff covers. There was a post about this only a few days ago. do a search.

Rear Wheels Shuddering / Skipping
my_gtr32 replied to my_gtr32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just an update, changed both front and rear diff oils to Nissan recomended oil and the shuddering has almost gone away. Will take a few 100 Klms for the oil to work through both diffs. Be warned using Redline Lightweight shock-Proof in you're diffs! Mine had no problems what so ever until shortly after I used redline. I'm no blaming the oil, maybe using it highlighted an existing problem? Reline lightweight is a 75W140 and Nissan recomends a 80W90 LSD oil. So its a bit thiner. It was causing the rear diff to bind when turning slowly. Like a mini spool diff, strange???? -
Yeah, filter relocation kit is a must. I hate changing that dam filter on a gtr. I had a look at a diagram of the Trust cooler setup. The models with the in-block / internal thermostat are interesting. From what I can see, if the oil is too cool, the thermo bypasses the cooler AND the oil filter! There are only two hoses comming off the adaptor where the filter used to go, so it must bypass the oil filter aswel. The external thermo models have the thermo fitted between the hoses going to the cooler only and alows the oil to still go through the filter when cold. Am I right? I hope not, but I can't see how else it can work.

Had pods on my GTR and went back to the factory airbox running an Apexi filter with CAI. Save yourself lots of mucking and just fit a high flowing panel filter like Apexi or K&N to your standard airbox. If you are realy keen, fit a cold air intake to it. This works VERY well and looks neat and stock rather than some 'homemade' crap looking box or sheild around a pod filter.

Hey, Thanks for the info. There are a number of Trust kits listed, all with different size coolers and hoses designed to fit in varrious locations. Some mount behind the radiator and others behind right side of front bar, near BOV's. The behind front bar type, (near BOV's), is the one I'm after as my car is mainly street driven. I think its only a 10 row cooler that fits in this location. I've heard of others that mount under somewhere, not very sure where exactly. Can anyone help?

Hi guys, Looking at installing an engine oil cooler with a filter relocation kit. Seen a couple kits, and like the Trust / Greddy setup. I'm thinking of buying the vehicle specific kit to suit a R32 GTR, with the cooler mounted on the right hand side of the front bar. Has anyone tried to fit this type of kit? Do the instructions, mainly diagrams, help? Assuming all the words will be in Japanese of course. Are the hoses the right length, brackets fit, etc? I’ve read the tutorial section about installing an oil cooler and that’s a great help, but I would like to hear from people with any experience installing the Trust kit or other kits designed to be a simple 'bolt-on' installation. Thanks in advance

Rear Wheels Shuddering / Skipping
my_gtr32 replied to my_gtr32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Can't remember the grade of redline lightweight shockproof off hand, but it's compatable with the Nissan's recomended grade. I think many skyline owners are using this oil in the diff. Its just strange the problem started hapening after I started using it and the pain is, it doesn't do it all the time. I'm having trouble pipointing what is causing the shudder. -
Dam nice car. $16,800! If only it was true........

Hi, My R32 GTR has developed a strange shudder skipping feeling comming from the rear when taking off or going around corners on light to normal throtle. Feels like I'm running a locked Ford 9 inch diff or something. Recently I changed the diff oil to Redline Lightweight shockproof and shortly after this, the problem started. I'm not saying it's the oil or even the diff at this point, I'm just after ideas. It could be related to susspension also. I have fitted Whitline springs, swaybars, and camber kit along with Bilstein shocks some time ago but there's still many original (OLD) bushes there. I thought it might be the lower bushes the skocks bolt to. I don't know what it is just guessing. Can anyone help???

G-tech Pro Are Thay Any Good
my_gtr32 replied to RB SANDY's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Log onto the G-tech website as there's plenty of information about them. The one pictured above is a very old model and not supported by g-tech. I have seen them on ebay going cheap. The real one is worth much more. I don't have / used one but did some research on them a while ago. Would be handy but, like I said, costs around $400 I think. -
R32 Gtr Cat Back Exhaust *sold*
my_gtr32 replied to my_gtr32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Still for sale. Just want it gone and will take resonable offers. $80? $70?..... C'mon people, turbo mufler is worth that alone! Note: The exhaust was fitted to a slightly longer cat (10mm), so you may need to modify the pipe /flange to bolt up to a standard cat. Sorry, only found out about this recently. Anyone? Upgrading To A Nissan Skyline
my_gtr32 replied to Shakiel's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
R34GTt is a nice car but don't have a lend of yourself thinking you can beat a R32GTR. R32 is around the same weight, more powerful and is 4 wheel drive. Maybe the person driving the R32 GTR that you say you beat, didn't care if you passed them. -
Upgrading To A Nissan Skyline
my_gtr32 replied to Shakiel's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Here we go again... I agree totally, if you buy a good, well cared for R32 gtr, it won't cost you a heap of cash to maintain. It's only when you get the BUG and start improving it or upgrading things, when costs start to soar, as with any car. What do you expect when you buy a early R32 gtr for 20K or less? Remember how much they were new??? It will not be in mint condition so budget at least 5K for turbos, suspension and other wear items. Those old ceramic turbos could let go if boosted, and cost you lots more when you destroy your engine. running costs are -
Yes I have a template of sorts. I was going to partition the pods and use the bonnet as the seal for the top. It would have looked at bit 'home made' as I'm no expert using sheet metal. In the end I decided to use the standard airbox idea.
-
Yes maybe? But what if you modify the standard airbox and fit a CAI onto it plus a high flowing Apexi panel filter ? That's excatly what I have been doing on a gtr. I currently have apexi pods (like that when I bought it), but no CAI. I have been messing around with varrious designs to at least, partition the pods and feed cold air from the air ducts built into the front bar. Not happy with the products available plus the cost of some, what I did was modify the standard snorkel that takes air from behind the headlight, and fit a 90mm pipe to where the ressonator box usualy connects on the snorkel, and position it behind the air duct in the front bar. Looks totally standard, is very well sealed as it's using the factory air-box, and it works. Now I'm going to utillise the resonator container and the windscreen washer bottle for a intercooler water spray set-up I've been working on. I can post pics soon as I'm going to remove the front bar for some other mods
