Think i know wat your saying, on the side of the block is a coolant supply for the turbo, theres also an oil supply for the turbo, i dont know of a third coolant supply or "bleed" bolt being on there too, and if you use the Greddy plenum, though i dont have one or have much of an idea how they work i beleive the coolant supply still comes off the intake plenum somewhere, though alot of 26's use a coolant line off the top radiator hose to supply the turbo. I think this is rite...anyone know if im talking crap or not?
  4. i had a odd problem, loosely related that fkn did my head in for like 3 days. Had exhaust leak, i was certain it was T3 flange gasket from manifold to turbo so i pulled it all off...put it all back together using all genuine nissan gaskets, new nuts etc...started the car..same leak. I could feel the exhaust gas coming from the same spot, now i was sure i did everything right but went over it again and pulled everything apart as i did the previous time, gaskets were all fine. No sign of a leak except for the bearing had black exhaust marks all over it. Put everything back together...same leak so now im pulling my hair out. Then i noticed a bolt just holding in the thread of the exhaust housing of the turbo...somehow it had worked its way loose and it was coming straight out of the compressor housing onto the turbo centre..lucky i found it coz i was ready to incinerate the car...was so unnoticeable just by sheer chance i saw it... Sorry thought id share that heh..
  5. Hey dude, i c ur from Mackay, oddly enough ur name is SS eater, did u ever c a Black VEss up there wit big comp cam and stupidly loud exhaust wit RDP motorsport sticker on the back, had 19" chromies too. Curious as my mate bought that car. dunno how big Mackay is but was wondering if u saw it.
  6. yea, my mates have had shitloads of work done wit mick, he's pretty switched on. Building a R34 drag car too, more like a funny car style tho, GTT with huge tubbed rear end etc...no 4wd.

  9. Yep Mick's Motorsport 9771 3301. On Milperra Rd near the new bunnings just off the Milperra exit on the M5. Cheap and good at it. As far as i know i think its only side feed injectors tho...sorry all u R34 lads..but check tho, dont take my word for it..

  11. wat turbo u putting on? i needed 20mm spacer for gt3582 with 25mm extended studs. i have a set of 4 as spares when i got local engineer to make them for me. they are a different thread on both sides. Pretty simple though, the coarse thread is what goes into your manifold, the finer thread is where your turbo flange must tighten with. Just take one of your studs out and tell them u need the same stud as it is with the fine thread side extended 12-13 or 25mm depending, obviously in a heat tolerant metal and they will mill you studs to suit. Edit: the 12-13mm 25mm extension in stud length is to clear the additional gasket thickness also. 25mm longer studs on a 20mm spacer was perfect.

  14. is the oil on the inside of the compressor, like where the turbine is? if so its not uncommon for a little bit to leak out over the course of hard driving. All the GT35's ive seen do it including mine.
  15. Mate of mine got his hi flowed to 620, theyre now in my car. Watched the process of how theyre done, cleaned then flow tested. In seeing it done it gives me plenty more confidence in the process. Also while we were there he flow tested a set of sard 550's that a customer had brought in. One of them was out by nearly 10%. Said that sort of thing is actually not that uncommon. So i guess its all up to the luck of the draw sadly...interesting but.

Hi all, didnt know where exactly this post belonged so here it is in forced induction.. my dilemma, had a 5" Splitfire tacho in my car, so today im installing the Autometer Cobalt tacho the same way as any old tacho, Constant power, ground, signal wire and illumination wire all good so i thought til i turned it on. No illumination, if i turn on the illumination the tacho goes to display the shift point and shift light comes on. revs arent accurate to my true RPM (though i expected this as it came off a 4 cyl wrx) but also doesnt have any switch to select 4 6 or 8 cylinder as your regular aftermarket tacho does. i dont know why the hell its behaving so strange. The back of the tacho has the following wires, And how they (so i think) correspond. Black - Ground Red - Constant power White - Illumination Green - Signal wire. Also there were some tiny wires coming from the back which were 2 blue and 2 red (very small not sure what they are for but on the car they came off they werent connected and everything worked fine). Im stumped if any1 knows what ive screwed up lemme know... Cheers!

  22. DYNAMIX lol im pretty smashed rite now n i was looking at the compressor diameters at the bottom of one of your posts, that bug that runs round on the screen had me fooled, i tried to squash it half a dozen times before i realise it wasnt real...hah...stupid fake bug...
