Obviously I mean everybody knows that it takes an entire 3 days to kill the big end bearings on an RB26. Your mate got the better deal, mine now has to try to find the money for a rebuild.
-
Understandably, he is too.
-
Yeah, except the bottom end of the engine has died on the new owner already.

I added a couple more photos, will try to get some more recent ones, including ones of the interior too. -
Smee Again! ( I think anyway, last night around 8ish? ) Taking the scenic route to my girlfriends.

It makes short work of everything

Yes I realise this and can see the benefit of having a proper reo, but (as with mine) if you get a fibre glass front bar it doesn't fit over the standard reo, so a lot has to be hacked off. I might put a stronger reo / front bar back on once I've put fibre glass guards and bonnet on, but at the moment it is reasonably balanced (could still benefit from being a bit lighter at the front). You learn something new every day, I had no idea that backing plate was required by law. I've just got a piece of cloth over that and where the back seats are. Yes and when combined with well rounded modification, (ie a little bit of everything) it becomes a very tough car. All up my running weight probably wouldn't be too far off stock at the end of it, because for all the weight that is pulled out, more stuff goes in. eg, My front mount probably makes up for the weight of the standard reo, front bar and air con pieces in the engine bay. Then I have a roll cage in the car aswell, so this would probably account for a lot of the weight thats been taken out of the interior as well. If your really keen you can take all the sound deadening out with dry ice as well, this has been on my to do list for awhile as well, I just haven't had a weekend yet that I can set aside to pretty much do that and nothing else.

The one with the blonde hair (looks a lot like Eminem at the moment.. haha). I was in the silver 33 (see avatar pic - it has a different front bar now).

Yeah that was me, I went over had a look at the cars then decided it was way past my bed time and I went home! And lol @ drdoof. I was just on my way back from Pac - nothing special!

Spotted a couple of grey 33s, a maroon 32 and a black 240Z(?) with SAU stickers on it at Thornleigh Maccas last night. That grey 33 that was stripped out looked good, it's good to see more people interested in going fast! (Mine is even more stripped)!

This is what I've done with my 33 so far, and it has made a huge difference: Removed (starting from the back): Boot Lining / Carpet / Plywood Spare Wheel cover etc Jack Rear Seat Rear Seat belts Rear Speakers Rear Parcel Tray Steel Backing Plate between the battery and rear seat HICAS Rear Wiper / Motor Superlight Weight Wheels (17 Work Equip Tri Spokes) Car Carpet (not noticeable if you leave floor mats in at the front) Entire Air con system, including coil inside the dash, compressor, cast iron brackets. (Kept heater though) 90% front bar reo, fitted fibre glass front bumper Front indicators (rewired parkers as indicators) Air bag steering wheel Plastic Linings Inside the guards Bonnet Lining Splash Guard Next to do: Replace factory front seats with something lighter and better holding Fibre glass Bonnet and front guards

It's going to be first time over there, on this trip I doubt I'm going to be able to find anything!

I'm also stinging for another track day, but I'm about to head off to Japan so I need to save my money. I'm aiming for the next Circuit Club day at Wakefield just after I get back (1 December) if anybody else is keen..

I'm an IT Manager and Web Designer. Right now I am so bored I'm actually toying with the idea of trying to break something to give me something to do. I'm so bored that I've paid all my bills, finished all the preparations for my Japan trip in a few weeks: Got Yen / Travel Insurance / Rail Pass Checked and Rechecked accommodation, flights etc. And it's only lunch time.

Yeah it's not too bad, I'm a member, so is Scathing. Heres the link for those who are curious: jdmstyletuning.com/

I'm looking into a better way to lock the pads in at the moment, individual split pins may be the answer, but the holes on the "bolts" that they get put through are very small - I'll post up a picture of what I've done with it when it's sorted out.
-
Yeah over 300 cars rolled through the gates last month!

Well it's that time of the month again; JDMST EOMM ----------------------------- FRIDAY NIGHT (Tonight) 7PM+ ----------------------------- IS MOTOR RACING Unit 5, 5-7 Bermill St Rockdale -----------------------------

The pads i did myself a few days beforehand, put new Ferodo DS2500s on all four corners. The pins were definitely put back, as I remember inspecting them at the time and thinking they should have been a lot thicker. Those pins I think are a bad design, but it was no better or worse than the other pin which held up. (For reference, they wouldn't be thicker than your average paper clip). It's all fixed up now, I just want to make sure a similiar thing doesn't happen when I go back again (because it is mighty hard getting a car without a brake pedal home when it's over 3 hours a way and you don't have a tow car or trailer).
-
Alright, fair enough, I guessed at it being because of heat. I think I was on my 7th hard lap and the pedal let go all of a sudden and I shot off into the paddock. By fell apart I mean (and this is what I'm guessing happened), The pad locking mechanism broke (that was the part I assumed was from heat) The pads came out one at a time, The piston seal broke Brake fluid started running onto the disc and caught fire And I made it back into the pits with a nice flame coming off my disc (quite hard to put out too).
