  1. Free revving it will go to like 8000rpm+ but hitting the limiter while driving it should be 7600rpm,sometimes it may go a few rpm more.
  2. Is the control box(What ever it's called)mounted straight to the car?maybe rubber mount it where it bolts to the car.
  3. Yes they are tight,I used a socket with extentions. I'm still having high idle probs with mine but I think it's how the values are set up in the PFC.Cold starts it revs at 1500rpm/2000rpm.

I had the same problem but it was a spark plug,the ceramic bit above the gap cracked and slid down to cover the spark gap.Everynow and then it would back to normal,must of been the comp pushing it back up etc. So yer as baselinez said coil pack coz it's not sparking. Also spray carby clean around the inlet manifold(where the top/bottom meets)join and see if the idle changes.Could be gasket or maybe just tighting of the bolts.
  5. Just over 20kgs heavier,I weighed them.I dunno about the ratios but I'm positive the 25det box's shifter sits about an inch rearward.

  7. Check the air reg down where the injectors are.That may be dirty inside aswell.There is 2 10mm bolts holding it down and 2 fat hose's each side.

  10. Mine does that and I don't know why,anyone else know?I have a plumb back bov so it's not running rich.
  11. I just saw you have a PFC,mine sucks balls at night sometimes to but after a recent tune it is so much better.Go into the Idle menu and write down what setting you have.But yer fiddle with those settings and see if it improves.
  12. I think you answered your own question dude.If your bov has a bolt to adjust the spring preload wind it in a few threads and go for a drive.Never know it may fix it.
  13. Dam nice Simon.What spark plugs/gap and boost controller are you using coz that is nice and stable.

  16. I'll get a pic tomorrow if you want,but yer it's right next to the weld on where all the pipes merge.It is stainless,one of those china ones and I paid $550 for it new.
  17. I'm not sure if it gives more power or not as I did alot of mods at once turbo,ex manifold etc It gives it a meaty exhaust note but it's got to go,time for some stock mani love
  18. Ok I just picked it up and it's fine so it was the sparkplug.So who wants a used china exhaust manifold for @$200? it has a small crack in it.
  19. Since my car is at my dads hes looking at it and put in another spark plug.He drove it around the block and it did'nt knock?what is going on.When it did knock that was just after i revved it.
  20. Dam thats bloody good responce Chris.So it must be a GT2510 then? With my motor one sparkplug had cracked the ceramic thing around the electrode and slid down and i'm guessing thats why it idled really rough at times and good sometimes.Still don't know about the knock thou and it still has lots of oil pressure!

Roy - I was a dick and did'nt let it warm up enough before the show,water temp started at 49degrees and when the motor stopped it was 99degrees.Knock went up to 90 but I was'nt watching the controller so dunno if it only hit 90 once or what. Chris32 - I was thinking other motors but I'm leaning towards another 20,gotta love the big revs!!I hope my next motor lasts longer ,I'll look after it more since I've had my fun.

Engine/Car: R32 S1 RB20det in a Oz R31 Type of failure: Not sure yet but it sounds very bad.Motor tear down to come Factors influencing the failure: big burnout at high rpms and 99degree water temps State of tune of the engine: First tune was horror,second tune had good power and no knock [email protected] 100,000km's on motor Suspension and tyres: Koni shox,lovel springs,dead 255's now Oil used and service interval: synthetic argip every 5000km's and filter General comments: it sounds like a rex,knocks very bad once reved,idles very rough when it sounds like a rex. *EDIT*The problem was a broken sparkplug,so it's all back to normal :jump:
  23. I wont now what happened till I open the motor up.One thing i noticed on start up yesterday is it had like no/very very little oil pressure!!Maybe the oil pump bolts went?they come loose sometimes don't they?
