It was a brilliant night, smallest crawl ever, but definitely one of the best. I can't wait to see Chris's pics they should be good. I don't know quite what happened but I ended up in a bit of a clepto phase. Justine still has the salt and pepper shakers, and i'm not sure wtf i'm gonna do with 1L of hand soap AND I still have that sock!!! That poor bastard must be so pissed off

Bang For Buck Tyres.
impact_blue replied to KezR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i did actually say that, no where did he state he needed R compound, merely a tyre that he could use for occasional track work, skid pan and from what i gather street. Having used R compound for street and skid pan stuff i can say from my personal experience they are quite crap for it as they dont heat up fast enough for skid pan and street and on the street go through too many heat cycles and quickly turn rock hard so i was just throwing up something that is a good compromise from what i have seen from one of the guys using those tyres for exactly the same purpose as the thread starter! EDIT: Bunta here, didnt realise my girl friend was still logged in! -
*whispers* think about it

yeah agree, i have read that most are 120,000 to 150,000 at full boost dependant on what boost level is set

Comp is something you definitely want to have, it's like health insurance really, I forked out ridiculous amounts of money all year long, but when it came time for surgery, it saved my wallet good and proper. It all comes down to whether you want to gamble. If you're feeling lucky, punk, then just get 3rd party. There's no way any of us can say if or when you'll be in an accident, you could be in a nasty one but it might not be your fault. If that is the case, and you don't have it, and THEY don't have it, you are left with nothing. The only thing you will be covered for is their hospital bills. So it's really just another one of those shitty personal choices. In reply to your actual question though... No, you will not find cheaper than Just Car (or Shannons in some cases). Andy paid just under $3K when he first got insurance on our old R33 gtst, then he wrote it off 22 hours later. We got the agreed value back, and ended up making $1500 out of the whole ordeal. Second time around he paid the same amount on the same car, then every year since then it's gone down. Also, once you've been with them for a year or so, you are then eligible to pay by the month, which is great, no more big lump sum payouts every year! We are currently paying $102 a month for the GTR for both him and me insured, with an excess of $1900, so your costs will decrease with age and good driving history. Good luck!

So far i've had a great experience with them, plenty of communication (lack of communication is my main beef with workshops), and they've been patient with my shitc**t of a car so far :-) And they like cupcakes.

OFFICIAL SAU PUB CRAWL – 2009 Saturday 17th October 2009 Firstly, i’d like to take this opportunity to mention that this year’s pub crawl runs 1 day short of being exactly a year from last years!!! Secondly, the layout has been changed this year, due to much confusion and a different format and method (no runners, no kitty, no jobs!). Welcome, to the 5th SAU Pub Crawl. The Crawl is open to forum members, members partners, and esteemed guests (ie. a friend who has been declared to the crawl organisers before the event). The Crawl will have 5 locations, including dinner. Participants will be expected to endure peer pressure to drink 2 drinks per pub in light of the fact that it is a shorter crawl. The evening will kick off at 6.30pm for Dinner & drinks at Venue 1, and follow on from there following the layout and ruling below. Venue 1: Hollywood Gardens (Spring Hill Hotel – 100 Leichhardt Street, Spring Hill Venue 2: 320 on Leichhardt – 320 Boundary Street, Spring Hill Venue 3: St Pauls – Cnr Leichhardt & Wharf Streets, Spring Hill Venue 4: O Bar – 52 Astor Terrace, Spring Hill Venue 5: DownUnder Bar – Cnr Ann & Edward Streets, Brisbane RULES Once you sign up you better have a bloody good reason if you cancel! There is a maximum of 1 hour spent at each location once the participants have their drinks. After participants have had their fill of said location, OR once 60 minutes has elapsed (whichever comes first), the crawl will move on regardless of unfinished drinks/urination breaks etc. This means you WILL be left behind!! -----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*----- PARTICIPATION You must indicate your availability by replying in this thread. All participants must have nominated themselves by Friday 16th October by 3pm. So there you have it folks. This is a great opportunity to do something when the vehicles are left at home. If there is anyone who lives a little far from the city and needs a place to crash, there is a double bed and a double sofa bed available at our place, as well as 2 swags so just let me know. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions if you have any, get your replies in as soon as you know you’re available, and I hope to see a lot of you there! PS. I've been pulled over several times with old rego label, I keep a copy of the renewal form in my glovebox with the paid reference number on it, just incase, but this one time (NOT at band camp), I didn't have it, he just punched my rego into his little computer and came back to say 'no worries, see ya'. He should have checked! Loser.

I've never paid a cent. BOOM! Well the sil80 is now in a better place. Took him to EFI last night, I really hope they find what's wrong with him! I could do with a bout of 'my-car-now-runs'.

Sarcastic much? We like to have 2 different execs count it to make sure we get the correct amount. El Presidente would like to announce it, I will get onto him now.
