The SSD dock I bought came.. Got the SSD in there and plugged it into my old laptop...recognised it straight away, but its only showing up in the devices in the system tray, not as a hard drive in file explorer... Am I missing something? It says 'usb mass storage device' like I'd expect, but can't actually access it as a drive...

I just said CD as it was easiest but I meant hard copy.. For reinstall etc. I upgraded to Windows 10 via windows so I guess that means my copy was legit... Having it on the drive doesn't really help when you're laptop is a paperweight though...

Even if I don't back up before I send it off there'll be minimal loss... Pretty much everything is on my network hard drive.. Got all the shit off the sata, just wanna double check the SSD in case I've got shit on there.. Leigh pls confirm the eBay links above are what I need so I can order one.. Pls respond

Bought heaps off scorptec back in the day, but centre com is sort of on my way home from work... I'll get this thing off ebay, just wanna get shit off the SSD before I send it to msi and they wipe it... Even if they fix it, it's not really good enough... One minute you're using your laptop, the next you've lost your data through no fault of your own...

I'll have another look for the receipt today, but if I can't find it they can blow me. I can't see them trying to weasel out of something that seems to be a pretty common problem for their laptops, and that shouldn't happen. Kunce should give me a new one for my inconvenience too

It's out of warranty so they can probably charge me whatever it costs to fix... Maybe they'll be nice given it seems to be a common issue, but we'll see. They sound pretty Asian, but they've got an Australian office if that's what you mean..
