Is it possible to retrieve data from the SSD? backed up the SATA drive with the dock, if I can back up the SSD I'll be set.. After that, will doing a fresh install of windows solve my boot issue, or am I gonna have to take it back to centre com?

Just put the drive in old laptop, but realised this thing had windows 7/8 or something new one had 10... Didn't boot but I got into bios.. Anything I can do to get to a point where I can see the drive on the network and transfer files or do I need that cradle and a working computer?

Forgot to call msi today... Gotta get one of those cradle things too... Or maybe I can take the drive out and plug it into my old laptop and upload everything to the network drive.. Guessing you can't upgrade the ram and hard drive with that deal..?

I'll get one of those cradle things Leigh posted before sending it anywhere... There's not a whole lot of shit on the drive as I keep it on an external drive connected to my network, but still wouldn't mind backing up what is on there

What's the idea behind no battery but running off power? If the hard drive, ram or mother board etc is f**ked isn't that just game over regardless of how it's being powered?

Two year warranty, haven't found the receipt buy searched this thread and found I bought it around September /October 2014, so about 7 months out of warranty.. That's why I opened it up, no warranty to void... I'll give em a call see what they say... If it's not a ridiculous price to fix it, I'm happy to keep it, hasn't really given me any issues

So anticipating the need to purchase a new laptop, unless I can get this one fixed for a reasonable price, what's the best way to retrieve the data from the hdd in this one, without opening up the new one and putting the drive in there obviously...

Removed it, there's no spare slot to move it too though so probably a pointless exercise and fair chance I f**ked something else in the process

It's removable but underneath the motherboard... Working on getting to it now, more than likely need a new laptop as a result of breaking something in the process..

Got it open at the moment, google search found it seems to be pretty common... Few people said take hdd out and boot, if it works it's the hdd, but mines out and still won't boot... I'll try battery..

Speaking of laptops, I think mine just died... Won't boot past the logo screen... It's done it before and a few resets seemed to fix it then, but not working this time... Also won't open the bios anymore either... Pretty sure its out of warranty, have to look harder for the receipt, but if it's f**ked, need a replacement. Must be powerful, fast and not an apple product.
