ive got the white face for the dash cluster. but with mine its just all white and glows blue or green. it was a pain to put in because i had to take the needles off and it is a bitch to get them back on, spot on the right spot (adv to have a digital speedo and tacho). but the rest was easy. just a mater of taking it apart, sticking them on, hooking up the wires, placing the dimer and back together again.

Hills Motor Sport in Castle Hill is good. great prices there. fixed my clutch up last time for hardly anything including parts and the guys there know what they are doing. payed around $300 or so for the gear box in and out 2 times, new fork and thrust brace (is it called race or brace? part that holds the thrust bearing) and alot of fiddling around figuring out what was wrong. had all the work done on my car there recently and its top quality work for a good price. 02 8802 0777

Got A New Clutch Installed
ranicx replied to Nic19's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
when i used to have a standard clutch, it was fine with no shudder, but when it was almost worn out and dying, it did start to shudder when sliped. the longer the slip, the worse the shudder got. shudder went away when i replaced the clutch -
get Mr_G to do it. although i didnt end up getting it done by him (straped for cash as the time was the only reason), he was very prompt with his replys and good advice! highly recomend him.. its a bitch to do your self

spoted a black r33 (gtst or gtr couldnt tell. had a gtr wing though), heading down lane cove road towards epping road at 8:50 on friday morning. i think he waved, and i tryed to wave back, but my hand hit the A piller and got stuck lol.. also spoted, same day, black r34 gtt in hornsy hights coming back from the galston gorge area as i was heading towards the gorge at about 10 to 6 or somthing.. i was the one who reved it a bit at the lights. was easyer then waving when trying to change gears
-
no sure what i got put on, but ive had them about a year and a half, and they could bite a bit more, but they are ok. $140 for the front ones i think. wouldnt mind getting some Endless pads next time though

just an update.. car rego'd today, and the blue slip that was used to pass the defect was good enough for rego because it was a full inspection, although they did have to over ride the system or sumthing anyway who.. im broke! yay! .. stupid rego
-
always seem to be spoting you on that road
-
i dont have one ether.. hmm marss, check the usual. cluster plugs at the back, there is 3 there. also the parker fuse in the boot. and of course, the globes them selves, might of had a short and blown them all? duno. but not hard to check for once the cluster is out. its not hard, easy enough to pull out in 15mins or less.
-
where abouts did you try and jump start it from? the batt or the conection points under the bonnet? ive heard that if you charge it or try and jump start it from the batt in the boot, it can blow fuses and so on.. which is exactly what happend to me. blew the parkers fuse (dash lights, tail lights and parkers). best to just jump start from the point under the bonnet thats made for it. when you put the batt back in, did it tick over at all or just stay dead? just thinking the batt may be totaly dead or need a top up of water.

nar thats cool vic, dont worry about it. yeh now i just got to give the RTA a call and see if the blue slip i have is good enough so i dont have to get a pink one, and then get the defect cleared via the RTA and pay for rego, and then give Just Cars a call and update my insurance policy....... hmmmm so busy, so many car things to do
-
ok well got the defect cleared today.. payed $240 for a 30min job that i could have done my self. all he did, was take the intercooler pipe off, make up and cut to size a rubber boot, put it over the pipe, so it fitted between the hole and the pipe, and put it back together. not happy jan.. although for the blue slip i had to get done, it was just a simple, are your tyres ok? do your lights work? is there any majoir damage on your car or parts that are broken. do your brakes work ok? and so on.. and it was all good in that regard. so i guess in a way, it was cheaper then having to go get it engineered, which one place wanted me to do before they would pass it. as for the fine, i have contacted our local MP (and close family friend) and explained everything that happend to him, and why i think it was unfair and reasons why i may have mad a mistake and should be just let off with a warning this time.. he said he will see what he can do to help me out. but even if all goes well.. i still have to borrow money to be able to pay my rego. ah well, such is life when the cops hate your car
-
yeh they are real pricks to skyline owners alot of the time aye.. dont get my wrong though, alot of cops that have pulled me over for RBT are not too bad.. but some are just out to defect you it seems like.. i just happened to get that one guy.
