  1. Thanks for the feed back so far gents.. Its good to see other peoples opinions on head work re the RB.. 380rwkw was just a figure I pulled from the sky, I use to drive it at 300kw so I was merely adding a reasonable factor on top.. Hell the more power I can screw out of her the better.. But in reality I want to make sure I do everything right. Keeping in mind I'm still retaining the purist RB25 standard capacity approach.. As for 5K worth of slicks, well I'm sure that could occur but far far later down the track as well its still in bits/undrivable at this point in time.. Now another question, I have heard that the bronze guides have a pretty quick wear rate?? If this being true is there any other guides in which I can use?? Keeping in mind I want to use the 1mm oversize valves.. Cheers..
  2. Was speaking to Daniel from ERD today. He has recommended going with supertech. Have been doing a little research on them and have found a whole valve train kit ( 1mm oversize etc ) Has anyone else purchased one of these kits? Did the kit come with everything for a pure swap in solution ( keeping in mind machining ).. cheers..
  3. Does anyone know where you can source the other 12 retainers ( exhaust ) needed when using the tomei type B springs?? The only ones I can find are for the RB26. Are these retainers interchangeable with the RB25??
  4. Thanks mate, will definately keep that in mind regarding lift/duration. How has yours turnt out so far? Turbo/power/happiness factor??
  5. Hmmm, perhaps your right. But like I was saying I'll be happy with anything above that, hell the more the better right I wasn't planning to drive this as a streeter, as I'm moving down the coast later this year to get into the car scene/action. I work in the mines, so money wasn't really an issue, just damn availabilty of parts..... Can you suggest things to remove or perhaps change then?
  6. Would love to see anything above 380rwkw above out of it. Going with Procams with solid lifter conversion not Poncams.
  7. Goodmorning, I seek your advice with my RB25det head rebuild. Its been too long since I have been able to drive my car, approx 4 years since I cracked a few pistons, and decided to move onto new projects. But the time has come to bring her back to life. I'm currently looking at doing a full head overhaul using the following equipment: Tomei Procams: 1418270102 ( Nengun $315.20 ) Nissan - RB20DET/RB25DET - Exhaust - High Type - 270deg 10.25mm Lift - Solid Lifters 1417270102 ( Nengun $315.20 ) Nissan - RB20DET/RB25DET - Intake - High Type - 270deg 10.25mm Lift - Solid Lifters Tomei solid lifters: 163006 ( Nengun $521.69 ) Nissan - Skyline RB25DET - (24x 161008) Tomei valve springs: 163022 ( Nengun $521.69 ) Nissan - Skyline - ECR33 - RB25DET - Type B - Lift 10.25 - Solid Use Only Valve guides: TOMEI Valve Guide - Exhaust RB25DE(T) ( RHDJapan $19.00 each = $456.00 ) Stem seals: Ferrea VS1022 Exhaust 6.00 mm valve stem. Now the few questions I pose are: 1. Do you think this is too overkill for a head job?? Looking at high HP applications. 2. What size shims do you normally require? 3. Does the head need machining to fit these size cams? 4. Is there any one shop I can seek all these parts from, rather than buying around the world. 5. Any other input with branding or recommendations would be much appreciated.. Thanking you in advance..

  17. 22 years young here...
  18. anyone interested in perhaps trying to make a copy of this plenum?? Also anyone know how to contact Workshop X??
  19. Yeah carbon Fibre FTW. Was searching on a new zealand version of ebay, and found this dude selling his rb25. First time i've seen a carbon fibre intake, looks s3xy. I'd imagine it'd be pretty good on the airflow side of things, being a very smooth material. But expensive!! Would love to know who makes them. Another pic:
  20. Hey guys, While searching through some sites i found this unique intake manifold. Just curious to see what you think about it. Oh and how much you reckon to get one made?
  21. Hey there fellow Skyline owners, As the title suggests i've gone and destroyed my baby, and it was all my fault. I own a 96 model series 2 Skyline GTST Mods before the destruction: Garrett GT35/40R Turbo Turbosmart 38mm ultragate Stainless high mount Manifold Splitfire Ignition Coils Denso 550cc Injectors Apexi PowerFC Monkey Frontmount Z32 AFM Bosch 040 Fuel pump Blitz SpecR Boost Controller Standard Internals Making around 270rwkw.... Okay so this is how it happened. Just cruising around one day and decided to give it a foot full lol. Then all of a sudden i lost all boost and a dreaded sound come from under the bonnet. Upon further inspection i had found the $1000 dollar stainless manifold had given way... DAMN... Well anyway i disassembled everything, got the manifold re-welded and bolted it all back together. Now in my rush to put everything back together i did the stupidest thing!!! Anyway i backed out of the drive way and took it for a spin. OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL!!! was my next response as the car boosted to 2.6bar and went pop! , I slowly drove it home with smoke billowing out the back. Upon investigation i found I had put the lines to the Wastegate around the wrong way..... STUPID!! lol. I expect to get flamed for this... So anyways i've pulled it all apart and have discovered i've only cracked number 2 piston... Okay so thats my story and now i pose a question to you all. I have got around 12grand in the bank and want to re-build my baby to make it stronger. So in all honestly people what should i do with the cash. What pistons, rods, cams, etc. should i get?? Name anything and everything i should buy (keeping within 12 grand please) Currently i've got rid of the turbo and wastegate. I wanna upgrade to a T04z but i'm up for any suggestions. Looking to achieve over the magic 300rwkw mark. Thanking you all in advance. Gordon.
  22. Z32 is right before intake plenum, sits right near the top of the radiator. I'd have to agree on the abuse side. <_<
  23. nah don't think so, only running 15psi (producing 268.1rwkw). The Z32 was 2ndhand when i got it, so not too sure of it's life. Problem fixed though.
  24. hey all, thanks for all the help, i actually found the source of the problem. I've got my Z32 in series with the intercooler and the Z32 had actually cracked underneath. Replaced it and running like a beauty again. B)
  25. would that cause the rough idle though?? i'll check her all out in the morning and get back to ya. thanks
