  1. St ives show ground also has an indoor circuit from memory, is that the track race you were going in Randy? Or did you mean the out door one?
  2. Oh yeah I think this thread should be deleted...........its craptacularrrr
  3. This topic has been done to death......its like flogging a dead horse with a bat; Sure its fun for the first 5 minutes but seriously get over it and move on.
  4. Its funny that you say that because all the guys on the holden LS1 forums reacon hes a top bloke who has always been happy to give them advice on track days. Oh yeah I was driving home the other night in my Charade when a R31 Blasts past me, then he slows down then accelerates then rips up the hand brake and slides into a side street (Residential area) nearly taking out the other parked cars. Import or V8 it doesn't matter what car you drive, its who you are that makes you the dickhead, regardless of income or appearance.
  5. Whats worse Bogan Commodore Driver/Import bashers or Import Bogan drivers/Commodore bashers You tell me Rb20inside. A car doesnt make you who you are.
  6. Great another movie that will spawn a generation of kids who think they can drift in their parents cars, which will then result in media bashing car enthusiasts
  7. hrmm, the VN didnt share the same 3.8 as the VS did it? because I think that the VS commodore had probably one of the best 3.8L engines ever put into the commodore. VS commodore - Ecotech VN commodore - Protech?
  8. Note that an engine is no longer blue printed once modifications are done to it. A True blue printed engine is quite rare...........so my Automotive tafe teach tells me. Good work with the re-build though! notice better/worse/Same fuel economy? better/worse/same performance?
  9. On the same topic, I understand that converting a 33GTR or 34GTR to rear wheel drive is quite the task. What needs to be done?
  10. ^^ well someones a ford fan
  11. Oh theres definately lots of lemons around. Back in Feburary 2005 Motor tested a Typhoon and the first day they had it the clutch f**ked up hardcore and couldnt be driven so Ford rushed them out another typhoon and after 8 laps around winton the Clutch in that f**ked up aswell and couldnt be driven at all. hahahhaha ford Accused them of flat shifting (Keeping the gas on while sihfting gears), while they said they didnt do that at all they raised the issue of why this wouldnt of then been tested anyhow knowing that certain drivers would do this. Seen a Territory on the northern beaches with a big similar sticker saying what a piece of shit lemon it was raving on for ages and ages.
  12. The black one led me back to a quick question. Is it possible to fit a 34 GTR carbon Fibre bonnet to a 33GTR?
  13. f**k your tough man, I wouldnt wanna fight you.
  14. Ill trade ya for my 37kw Charade..........f**king bargain!
  15. Just go under the dash grab a whole bunch of them and cut them, If you have any doubts, think weight reduction
  16. Apparently Bolger and another fella were in complete control the whole time and this 3rd guy span out like 6 times or more beforehand. Theres gonna be a wholeeeee heap of car hoon bashing now
  17. oh okay. well I know for a fact that it runs perfectly no smoke blowing, its had a re-build. I just thought I should of had the Turbo looked out for turbo leaking (explain to me?) I was told to get a Hi Flow test.............isnt that just the exhaust check pretty much?
  18. Hey, Im currently looking at purchasing a VL turbo (its what I can afford for now)................anyhow I was just wondering what sort of test's I should get done to the turbo to check for any leaks. How Much they will cost roughly and how much does a Turbo re-build set you back? Any help will be much appreciated.
  19. Wow I cant believe how much better it looks than the 32 4 door....................matter of oppinion I spose. .................I cant believe its not butter.
  20. That actually doesnt look bad at all in my oppinion
  21. I think the GTR that did hold the record had no speed limiter either. Something on the forums earlier with a big article From memory. They took a bunch of new cars out and a stock 34GTR to race round the ring ahhhh heres the post were all looking for http://www.caterham.force9.co.uk/ring.htm Our goal could scarcely be more simple. We want to break the production car lap record for the famous old 12.95-mile Nurburgring. Currently it stands at 7min 59sec, set by a Nissan Skyline GTR in 1995. But given that the Skyline set the time during its development stage and was free of the speed limiter that prevents UK versions from doing more than 156mph, we can no longer count it as the true production car record holder. Especially as it's far from clear how much turbo boost the GTR was running during the lap, or how much tweaking the rear-wheel steer system had undergone. So for these reasons and more, the standard production car lap record will no longer belong to the Skyline after this event; it will instead hold the record for a modified road car. Unless, of course, the unchipped, unfettled GTR that colleague Allan Muir is due to arrive in tomorrow can match, or perhaps better, that 7min 59sec time...
  22. yeah okay ill try to put it more simpler from my point of view. Just for this convo lets say that the turbo spools up at 2500rpm. So you rev it to 2500rpm and hold it there as there is boost is being created. Therefore when you take off youll be taking off whilst boost is being generated resulting in a much better launch. If you were to take off from idle it would not be creating boost so just imagine taking off from a normal 2.5litre engine car, but once you get to 2500rpm the turbine starts to spool creating boost forcing air into the engine making it go faster. Now a BOV wasnt invented to "sound cool". When you rev your car up and you get boost it puts pressure on the inlet manifold which can be bad if its re-tained there for X amount of time. The BOV then vents the pressurised air so that there is minimal damage done. In rally cars you wont often hear a BOV because if they were to vent the pressuried air they would be back to square one and would have to generate it all back again making their cars slower etc etc. now what I was saying was that If you rev'd it to 6500rpm and the BOV went off, then your boost has been released right? So when it comes back down to 2500rpm there is no boost, and it has to make more (Turbo Lag- Waiting for the turbo to spool up and kick in).........which takes time which kills your 0-100kmh times. Turbo Lag Side Note For Dummies - Were you to race lets say a V8, they have large displacement and dont need to wait for a turbo to spool up to get going. Say you were racing a V8 they might get off the mark before you (if you wern't launching on boost) its the time that you wait for the turbo to spool up and kick in that is known as Turbo lag as the exhaust from your engine will only have enough force at 2500rpm to spin the turbine to create boost. (Im sincerely not trying to sound like a know it all so if I come off that way........sorry)
  23. The idea behind twin turbos was to eliminate lag (sequential that is) well yeah, turbo lag.....Example you have to wait for the turbo to spool up to get your good speed. Where as a Supercharger is run off the engine and not the exhaust so you get no lag. What i was getting at though is if the skyline creates boost at what was it 1800rpm?? And youve revv'd it up and the BOV has gone off, then you wont be spooling up if your just letting the revs drop. But if you have the revs sitting there then launch youll be launching whilst on boost, instead of comming down in no boost then launching. If im wrong please correct me, because thats the only way Ill learn more.
  24. I could be very wrong here but a blow off valve releases the built up pressure on the inlet manifold to help reduce any damage right. So whilst you rev it high and it releases all that pressure, on the way back down through the revs your not gonna be spooling up so when you do "launch" youll be on no boost so no big launch.........
