Hi all,
I have a few questions I was hoping one of you nissan boys could answer for me.
I have a jza70 supra that I am looking to upgrade the brakes on. A popular brake upgrade is using spacers and custom brackets (which are relatively easy to find and purchase) to fit the jza80 rotors (324mm x 30mm) and Z32 or R32 GTS-T 4-spot calipers.
This doesnt appear to be a bad upgrade but I would like to go one better. You see, as you can imagine the Z32 calipers and pads dont cover the whole face of the large jza80 rotors. Therefore, obviously much more powerful braking can be had by using larger calipers.
I beleive that R32 and R33 GTR's both V-spec and non V-spec (although the v-spec models have the brembo brakes) use 4-piston calipers with 324mm rotors. I was wondering if I bought a kit to fit these jza80 rotors and z32 calipers (the kits dont come with the rotors or calipers), would I be able to buy GTR calipers instead and use them? Would they be a bolt on fit to the brackets (are they a bolt on fit to an R32 GTS-T as I will have the same mounting holes once the brackets are fitted)? Would they work with the supra rotors like the z32 calipers do but simply use the whole face of the rotor?
Does anybody know the rough cost of these GTR calipers, both the brembo ones and non brembo (sumitomo i believe). I realise they are fairly pricey but i dont know just how pricey they are.
Thanks heaps guys, i've been searching high and low for these answers but I dont seem to be able to get concrete answers and I dont want to buy the GTR calipers only to have them not fit....
