Gtr Wing - $100
Mr-Toy33 replied to druzilla32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
If it was for a r33, I would of taken it! damm! -
It's been determined that it's actually the turbo by 3 mechanic's now. There inpropella fan is rubbing up against the housing. I'm able to pull that inpropella fan back and forward about 1mil, maybe less which is not good at all. All 3 of stated that it would be ok if you can go side to side about 1mil or less, but not back and forward. It is a ballbearing turbo. Car has been booked in with Hardcore Racing to have the turbo rebuilt and high flowed.

Any other recommendations as to who I should use to have my turbo rebuilt and high flowed? or reviews on the ones that i've mentioned in regards to good and bad things about them? I need to book the car in either tomorrow or thursday to have it put in next week!

Has anyone got any images/pictures of the skylinesAustralia stickers that can be placed on the cars?

Cool. Thanks for that.

Need to get my turbo rebuilt as it has the inpropella fan rubbing up against the housing and making a squealing noise at 4,500RPM and higher. I'm wanting to get the turbo rebuilt and high flowed to get that bit more power out of it. Just wondering what people's recommendations are in terms of which workshop you would recommend to get this done at? So far, I've sourced from - Hardcore racing (quoted approximately $1,500). - Mercury Motorsports (quoted approximately $1,700). - Millennium Motorsports (quoted approximately $1,500). That all includes labour, rebuilding of the turbo and also high flowing the turbo as well. Any other recommendations would be appreciated and I'll source quotes from them as I'm wanting to put the car in first thing next week. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Alot of people have highly recommended Hardcore down at Slacks Creek to me over the past week or 2 since I've been meeting a few other skyline drivers from here. I'm taking mine down this weekend to have them check out my turbo for me as it looks like it's up for a rebuild.
-
I've heard of other skyline drivers being able to purchase the intercooler and piping kit for around $500.00 and thats not within a group buy.

I'm going just for the weekend. The champ car plus the 2x V8supercars that roared around the Brisbane CBD the other Thursday just gave me a heep of motivation to go. I CANT WAIT FOR INDY!

Ok. Had someone professionally look at it last night and they've determined for me that it is actually the turbo. It's the propellar fans (i think thats what they are called) inside the turbo which are actually hitting up against the wall. This now explains the noise as well as the great lost of power that it once had. So, I'm up for a rebuild of the turbo. All up, the rebuild of the turbo is going to cost me a bit under $2g which they'll high flow the turbo for me giving me more power. So, the car will be booked in to have all this done within the next few weeks and I should be back on the road after thats all done. I can still drive the car, but highly recommended not to hit high boost as it'll just cause more problems

I didnt think it was going to be me. But I've been around on rode road area for the past few days visiting friends. But only at night.

Might have been me. About what time was this? What did the nismo decal sticker say?

Anyone know of a workshop within the Brisbane (Woolloongabba/kangaroo point/stones corner/coorparoo/south brisbane area) or Logan (slacks creek/underwood/springwood) areas that would be open on a Saturday? Seems I've either got some loose bolts that are holding the turbo on which explains the air escaping and not feeling much of the power from the car anymore OR there may be a crack within the manifold somewhere. Refer to the following thread as to what is actually happening. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85946 Anyone know of any workshops that are open on a Saturday so I can get this looked at within the above areas mentioned please? Name of the company and if you have their number, that would also be pretty handy so I can call them to make sure its fine for me to take it into them. Thanks.

Sounds like this is just goin to be a costly issue to have it looked at. Sounds like I rather just give the machanics the go ahead to fix whatever it is. Would cost the same to have it fixed then to have someone look at it. But, knowing 99% of the machanics these days. They'll say its one thing just to get the extra few $$'s out of you when really it was something little and simple that would of cost me alot less to have fixed.

I just completed a oil filter change and oil change to it on Saturday just gone. Running the Motul 4100 turbocharged oil in it now. There is no oil leaks though.
-
I've read the PM's but after diagnoising the problem a bit last night, thought people may be able to further help as to what it could be. Also to note. When the car was idling last night at lights and in the drive way. The oil guage was sitting between the bottom line and the quater line. When driving, it would then rise up a bit just past the quater line but doesn't go past the half way line.

I hit about 5,500RPM last night on cold start when I first started the car and their was no squealing noise in first gear. Hit 2nd gear and still no squealing noise. I then pulled over for about 2mins and then took off and hit 5,000RPM and then it squealed. So what could this possibly be then? A belt or the turbo or possibly the manifold? If it is the manifold and a new one is needed? How much am I looking at for one?

Deleted reply.

When I hit 4,500RPM (which is probably when I'm hitting full boost) in the gts-t R33 skyline, it starts to make a squeeling noise and does it in all gears when hitting 4,500RPM. Anything under 4,500RPM, it doesn't make that noise. It's pretty much a stock standard skyline (apart from the exhaust from the cat back, turbo timer & boost guage). It's done 120,000k's and I just did a oil filter & oil change to it on the wknd plus radiator fluid but was making this noise before I did the service. Just wondering as to what it might actually be? Someone has said it could be one of the belts that are making that noise. Another person has said it's the bearings in the turbo (dont know about that one). Any ideas or anyone know anythin from this happening to them? It's a 1993 model. Thanks!

So, how do you reprogram it to autolock once you reach 60k's instead of 20k's?
-
With the intercooler kits, does that only come with the piping for the intercooler or does it also include the intercooler as well?
-
As topic states. I'm after a MSPEC Front bar for a gts-t series 1 R33 skyline. Colour must be in maron/red wine colour. Looking within Brisbane/Goldcoast area. Please PM me if you got one available or know of where I can get one. Thanks!
