  1. Have sent you a PM NismoGirl.
  2. Hrmm!!! I'm actually leaning more towards joining. Will look into it more within the next week or 2. When is the September events coming up? As in, the dates for them.
  3. Is that tyre discount with all Bob-Jane stores or just certain ones under 1 owner of several stores?
  4. Just wondering how one would go about joining Skylines Australia car club? I know the thread above points you in the direction of the form that needs to be filled out. But what I also would like to know is what the full cost is, involved in joining an what exactly do you get for your money when joining? I did read somewhere, where you can pay like $55 and you get this discount thing and a sticker, etc etc. Then there is this $95 thing I think it is where you also get a shirt or jacket or something. Can someone please enlighten me on what the full involvement is and exactly what you do get for your money? $55 or even $95 is a bit steep to join a club if you get very little. After all, I'm sure most skyliners would agree that, that money could be better spent on the car if you dont get much for what you pay for. Anyway! any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Didn't say I got extra performance just from the coolant. I also did a oil service (oil change and oil filter change) to which would of helped with whatever extra performance I may of felt. Then again, cold air could of also been part of the factor for the turbo. Or fact I probably didnt drive the car for a few hours to which had let the engine cool down. Plenty of facts could of been apart of the reason to what performance I may of felt.
  6. Ended up doin the coolant change over the weekend. Got a 5L bottle from Autobarn. Autobarn plus many other skyline drivers I talked to about this on Friday night recommended that I only put 50% of the radiator's compasity of coolant in and the other 50% of the compasity of distiller water in. This, I have done and can see somewhat a bit more performance since the change. Then again, I've also done a oil & oil filter change as well which really I think needed to be done. Anyway! this weekend is the spark plug change. Just got to sit around the place I'm doing it at for 2hrs to let the damm engine cool down. OR! I could buy one of those huge industrial fans and let it blow on the engine for 10mins. LOL
  7. Need to change whatever is in my radiator tomorrow as I'm doing a minor service on the car myself (oil filter change, oil change, spark plug change, etc). Just wondering as to which coolant is recommended to be run in a stock R33 GTST skyline these days? Dont really want to go to supercheap and buy some cheap $5 coolant and then to find out it'll destroy the engine after 4,000k's like people have reported Mobil engine oil to come out all gluggy after 4,000k's when they serviced it. So. Any recommendations?
  8. Anyone able to help at all?
  9. Refer to this thread I just found - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=27387
  10. I noticed yesterday after not driving the car for 2 days that the BOV wasn't going off. I kept driving the car for a few hundred more metre's and still wasn't going off but I could still hear the turbo spoiling up. I knocked it back a gear and took off and hit about 5,000rpm in 2nd gear and then it actually went off. Any idea's as to what might be causing this? Got me a bit worried as to wheather it might be the BOV screwing up or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  11. My opinion, its all well and good to learn how to do all this yourself. But all seriousness, its better to also have someone who knows what they are doing there with you so incase something does go wrong, they can help fix it. After all. It's better to have someone help fix the car then wait several days, weeks or even months till someone can help fix the problem and get the car back on the road for you.
  12. Would much perfer someone who has more experience in working on a skyline to work on mine then some joe off the street. But if it comes down to the crunch of things, I much rather have Lubemobil do my service for me at half the price of labour cost that mercury is charging.
  13. Think i might just take my business else where with those prices on labour pricing hes charging me. im not a female where i can easily be ripped off for the mech to make a quick buck himself. these prices however really do show me that mercury motorsports charge through the roof.
  14. Car has done 119,000+ k's. I only brought the car Wednesday night last wk. Previous owner told me he done the service at about 111,000/112,000k's.
  15. The engine oil and filter change i could probably do. But for the rest, a hoist would probably be needed plus I really dont need/want things to go out of timing. First skyline i've owned and only learning a heap about them now.
  16. Just got the following quote from mercury motorsports and was wondering if this sounds right to anyone? Motul Engine Oil (4100) $50 Oil Filter $15 Oil Change and Inspection $115.5 Gearbox Oil – Motul FF Comp $135 plus $35 labour Brake Fluid – Motul RBF600 $50 plus $60 labour Diff Oil – Motul FF Comp $90 plus $35 labour Fuel Filter $90 plus $50 labour Spark Plugs - Iridium $130 plus $77 labour Really, that all comes up to approximately $935 just for a service. Sounds a bit to much in my opinion to have this type of small service carried out.
  17. interested in the gtr wing for a r33 gtst. price offer of $200 and can pickup from you here in brisane. send me a PM if interested in the sale.
  18. What is the cost for a button clutch? fibre clutch? single plated clutch? twin plat clutch? heavy duty clutch? Got a stock standard one in the r33 gts-t right now and just wondering what the cost would be to upgrade to one of the above clutchs.
  19. Sorry. It's a rb25det. Totally off the ball with things today. It's just a stock r33 skyline with the exhaust from the cat back.
  20. What would the cost be for a standard service for a r33 skyline stock these days be? Edited: re-worded.
  21. I also would recommend AllJap. They are also down on Kingston Road in Slacks Creek if your a southsider.
