uh huh. you still fail to see my point. so i'll keep this in mind for next time.

No, no problem at all from the other night. Simply making a perfect statement that a thread such as mine got closed for the same activity that your doing. Though your not deterin anyone away from a club sponsor, you are detering people away from a site sponsor. Perfect example is ISC coilovers (i think thats what they are called) and also business traders who also sell suspension. then to further go on, the thread is also detering people away from using our club sponsors who can install this gear for us. All in all, what im saying is closing my thread but not yours yet they both carry out the same reason and/or purpose to some degree can be found to be a bit unfair.

Ok, so wouldn't it then be best to work on the creator of the thread (my thread) to which we can possibly work out a way to inform people of other people's problems that they may of had? And as for the whole 'whitepages/yellowpages' thing.... my thread was being updated purely based on those providing contact details from other users. I nor does anyone have time to ad a million businesses to that list so, doing it over a long period (months/years, etc) would of worked out and if a business was to close, then those who actually called that business or went to the workshop/business address i'd be sure that they would inform us they no longer exist and in turn i would remove it from the list. I think what mods/admins need to start is working with the users on threads in discussing the thread further with them about how to resolve/fix any issues before actually closing it. As we've seen many times on here, closing or just deleting a thread without any reason pisses them off through the roof. Working/discussing with the user before any action is taken is a better way of dealing with such things. It's not the mods/admins that make this forum... its the users who in turn post up everything and donate to it. The mods/admins are here just to help make the further that much of a better place to make for everyone.

to answer this. i'll give you an example. a noob comes on here and simply creates a thread asking "hey, i need my car tuned and all this stuff installed, where do i go?". What do people usually do? well, they clearly refer them onto workshops that they've used. Instead, what should be happening is that people should be refering them onto site/club sponsors. As a result of people not doing this, meanin they refer them onto places that aren't site/club sponsors means that they are advertising a business that isnt a club/site sponsor which in turn is detering people away from site/club sponsors which has been pointed out that is what my thread was doing which ended up gettin closed cause of 'complaints' of such things explained here.
-
let me refer to this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=160614 this thread alone is purely advertising another company which isn't a site sponsor not a club sponsor. in fact, he's advertising a company exactly like i was doing except he's highly recommending this company which i wasn't doing nor allowing in my thread which means, he's gone one step further. so, what i mean is that if a thread such as mine is complained about in terms of advertising other businesses that are not site/club sponsors, shouldnt action on any threads then created by others soon after also receive the same actions that mine had been given? if my thread is detering people away from site or club sponsors, clearly the above thread is also doing that.
-
That being the case, then those who ask 'where can i go to get this' or 'where can i get this done', etc would also be a result in advertising businesses which in turn deters people away from club/forum sponsors. its much of a much really where removin a thread of mine based on complaints and advertising would also result in those advertising 'non forum/club sponsors' threads/post as well.
-
As a result of closing the thread though, its allowed everyone to now open more then just this 1 thread that helped everyone which has resulted in this thread shit fightin against everyone. All seriousness, maybe a thread needs to be created and stickied such as mine as well as others like the one mud has created for noobs to introduce themselves. We can probably all sit here all night and fight about what is and whats not right either way, difference of opinion will always be in the way and no matter what way everyone may look at it, we are probably all right to a certain degree.

A while back I created the following thread - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=130753 This was a list of wreckers, tuners, workshops, etc etc. Clearly before this thread was created a few of us were sick of seeing new threads being posted up asking "where can i go to get this, etc etc". Since I created this thread which I was keeping up to date with people posting up the contact details, threads were no longer being created probably because more so the thread was also a sticky which people saw straight away and didnt need to use the search function. Since this thread was closed and have been unable to keep it up to date, etc threads have been created left, right and centre. All seriousness, threads like what i created - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=130753 stopped threads being made askin where can i go for this, where can i go to get this done, etc etc. The reason behind the thread being closed was "because it was advertising businesses on a forum". Ok, fair enough I see that side but if someone creates a thread asking "where can i go to get this, etc", either way that itself with a response from someone "call alljap at slacks creek on this number" is also advertising them.

this happened to me a while back. hit a pot hole, stuffed up the right hand drivers side suspension. brought a 2nd hand strut and that, had someone install it and then sent the invoices and bills onto BCC to reinburst me for the cost along with some photos of the pot hole. 2wks later a cheque was sent out to me.

Far from a waste of time for me dude. Got out of paying $300 in fines and got my 3 or 4 points back that they took off me for no reason (that being, car wasnt defectable nor require a mod plate). And if dad wasn't a lawyer, I would of run it myself easily as it's not brain surgery to gain all the evidence needed to put forward your case. I just had dad run it for me cause well, he is a lawyer which in turn puts a bit of a scare into the justice system that someone who knows the law will fight what was clearly wrong. I'm seein my father this weekend, so I'll be seeing what in turn I can do about this cop and his harassement of those within the import scene. more then likely I'll just be told to write a letter to the police commissioner in complaint to the actions of this cop and take it from there. Blood on the other hand will not be seen unless he accidently paper cuts himself which by all means stupidity has already been shown by giving me the fines so it wouldnt surprise me if this happens.

there's 16 switch's here in qld. all switch's are 48ports and are worth around 8k each. then on top of that, we have to also replace the telephones as well. each phone is about $800 each. if we connect these phones to the 1gig switch, then the screen goes all weird and not able to do anythin with it. and we're far from bein able to upgrade to vista cause of the security complications between vista and windows2k3 server.
-
all sites need to recoup the cost for the switch's before they can upgrade. SRWP is a new site and opted to pay the additional cost for the 1gig network as they r a project, not run/own by who we work for. and we aren't upgradin to vista.

Yep, all well and true. One thing no one has ever thought about when it actually comes to ACA/TT is also recording the whole interview themselves so there is more then 1 copy of the video/voice recording. Once ACA/TT turn the story around to become yet another "hoon" story, in the end it could blow up worse in their face with a recording coming from my side proving what TT/ACA gave the public was a load of bullshit if I was to send it to other media resources (for instance, newspapers, etc). In turn, this could turn the show into shit for them as is alot of the corby case going on right now as well as that other inncident that happened to TT last year. I think though in the end, alot could backfire in both ways but its a risk either way.

I'll be talkin to dad when I see him next which will lead me with what I need to do about the abuse of such powers the cops have been doing. If it isn't a change to the full extent that I would like, then possibly something could be done in regards to what police do with the law they have. Of course if nothin can be done, i'm sure Today Tonight would have a feild day over this or maybe ACA? Cops hate have the media jump in and have the public be told that they were in the wrong, so one can only see/hope somethin could be done to avoide the media gettin involved. but, I guess from here onwards while I'm out drivin that car, the cops will further harass me to which will end up makin things worse for them when i clearly will not tollerate it. If they cant see that when I told this cop I'd take it to court that I wasn't joking, by all means I'm happy to use another cop as a perfect example that I'm not joking yet again. heheheh

Wouldn't have a clue. Wish I was there to be able to have my say on the issue to the judge to further recommend any higher punishment to the cop if any is given to him. The cop who issued the fines to me ignored all letters, request, phone calls, etc requesting for the fines to be dismissed before taking it any further through the courts. Of course, the cop being the fella he think he is "being above everyone and think hes top shit" ignored all request. Dad knew his boss through the courts in dealin with other cases and even his boss suggested to the cop to drop the fines which he didnt. Was only the other week when dad and the cop's boss produced the evidence we had to an inspector who then suggested that the case be dismissed and not go any further. Unfortantly the boss of the cop who issued me the fines couldnt have the fines dismissed, it needed to come from higher ranks which it did. To those who have been fined incorrectly by this cop, probably best to either a) go and see if you can have the matter heard in the courts to have the points given back to you and reinburst for the amount you paid in the fine b) dont worry about it. I would probably suggest not worrying about it because law see's it as once you've made any payment to a fine, you've admitted guilt straight away. But like the cop said to me, he goes through the courts every week which to me sounds about right cause he's far from being able to do his job properly in giving out incorrect fines. All seriousness, the fine for not having a modification plate was a complete joke to me and everyone else who's been told about it has just laughed.
