  1. Or just run 6 little short pipes through the bonnet... ah ah aha Nice work though... hanging out to see the results!
  2. Here's a good little pick for plumbing as stolen from another thread:
  3. I would highly recomend using a surge tank if it's a drift car! Unless the tank is chockers all the time, the fuel will slosh around in the tank causing your pump to momentarily suck air instead of fuel... not good for your engine, as it will cause a very fast lean out... Yes, you do need to worry about it... I would try not to use the malpassi reg... they're not terribly reliable. You don't need to run a new fuel line either. The standard line is fine to at least 350rwkw. The gts-t pump will flow plenty of fuel to the surge tank... If you find that (because it's old/broken) it can keep the surge tank full then replace it with a small drop in replacment or good condition GTR pump. A pump's flow volume will go up as the pressure it's pushing against goes down. There should not be too much pressure in the surge tank (as it has an overflow back to the tank at the top). I used my standard GTR pump as a lift pump and the 044 as the high pressure pump. I also left the GTR fuel pump voltage controller as standard, so it will slow the intank pump down at low speed (there is no point heating the fuel up by pumping it constantly at full flow). I'll ty and dig up a pic Justin
  4. 5m x 30A (over estimate) 12VDC should be around 10 or 12 guage. Sorry, I havn't looked at my car in 4 years... Just get somone to switch the ignition on and test each wire with a multi meter. When you switch the ignition on the fuel pump will start, then stop when it comes up to pressure.... when you start the car, the pump will start again, but only at low voltage. Use a good quality 30A automotive relay. Run a 30A fuse close to the battery. Once you have it all running, borrow a multimeter with an amp clip. Test the Amperage draw on the main supply wire at pump start and idle when its hot. What ever the Amperage is, add 20% and that's what the fuse should be. Your gts-t pump is easily going to be able fill the surge tank... all pumps will flow more with less pressure. The 044 in my GTR supported over 400rwkw.
  5. It's all relivant... 455wkw. 9 sec to 12 sec ha ha ha... It's not as easy to drive fast in a straight line as people think.
  6. Alot of people who have had experience, don't fully understand nitrous either! Couple lack of knowledge/experience with rubbish nitrous products and it's usually a recipe for disaster or disapaointment... There are a couple of guys in the UK running nitrous an NA rb25's... 2rismo is running gas on his 25/30 and previous 25.
  7. The existing wiring and fuel pump controller is not big enough to handle the load from an 044 pump.... Run a decent size wire from the battery (with a fuse near the battery) to the 044, through a relay. Swith the realay using the power feed to the origional pump. 1 wire, 1 realy... easy.
  8. Put your stock airbox back in with a good washable panell filter, then run an extra duct to it. Install a front mount intercooler, I wouldnt bother with a 34 side mount. If you still have any budget left over, install a reasonable dump pipe and down pipe (from the back of the turbo to the cat). After that, install a boost guage and bleed valve to run 10psi (Adjust it at night when it's cold).
  9. That would be super handy... (for my titanium hoop)Bah ha ha ha... I'm so funny. Steel, blaaa.
  10. Yeah in 1985... The rules havnt been revised in 25years... Nice hoop paul. You going to sell it when you part it out??? ha ha ha ANDRA is going to have to review they're rules and regulations if they plan to stay viable in the next 10 years. As an organisation, they turn away from anything new: Vehicles, technology, good buisness practice. As the "Import" generation gets older, we're bound to spend more time and money on racing... Why can't the ANDRA see that? It's not just "imports" but all modern hi-po cars on the drag strip. Maybe we all should start supporting "independant" drag facilities... Or private test sesions on air-strips- Standing mile, style of thing.
  11. ...ha ha ha must be nice to have spares! Just had a thought... do you have gear spesific boost controll? If so, ramp the boost in a little slower in 3rd.... race-break-fix-repeat
  12. A1000's are make more of a racket than a pair of 044's!!! Walden make some good- quiet pumps. I do like the sard style surgetank with submersed pumps.
  13. My advice to you is to check that eveything else on the car is right before you go modifying anything else: Brakes Susp/Bushings Belts, plugs and consumables Lights Saftey equipment. Then if you still have budget leftover, look into highflowing your turbo or installing a nistune board.
  14. I belive the tomei un-split dumps fitt. Most of the open style dumps should fit. I have T517Z 10cm and used the trust dump pipe kit... great set of pipes.
  15. Wow that auto really keeps it on song nicely! Well done.
  16. Yeah... Insane amounts of money. Alot of wealthy people with really cool toys!!! Actually the guy that won last year was really pissy that hiss heffernan twin turbo'd 08 Lambo got beaten. It had veeeery big turbo's on it too... from a rolling start, it took 60 or 80 feet just to come onto boost! He's now looing at a full wizard of nos nitrous set up. It blows me away the kind of money people are throwing at these things.... And I work on SUPERYACHTS!!! ha ha ha the biggest rich boy toys of all. There is somthing like 700k in the development of the GT40. Naa Johnny was overly exited more than nervous.
  17. Although the stock input shaft are known to break after a while on a big hp car, I don't think you'll have to many problems with a higher rpm launch. 1st and 2nd are quite strong... hell Last weekend I watched a 650bhp GTR limmiter launch 5 or 6 times and bang through 1st and 2nd... very easy on third and ripped through the rest. Eventually 3rd broke. Changing gears like granny wont substitute insufficient metalurgy. It's just easy on the cyncro's... If you drive a 430rwkw GTR with a stock box and an R3C, expect 3rd to go... simple as that. I say drive the thing properly and ease the clutch/power in at 3rd gear. Cross you fingers and hope your lucky. J.
  18. Tell your "buddy" to have a look at http://forum.nitrous-advice.org/index.php . All the info you need is there... Personally I would never run anything but - http://www.noswizard.com/ - products. N2O is an oxidiser... it's like injecting highly compressed "super" oxygen into your engine. Obviously if you add more oxygen, you need to add more fuel to maintain an acceptable air/fuel ratio. Unless you have a programable computer, you must use a "wet" nitrous kit. A "wet" nitrous kit adds fuel as well as nitrous, where a "dry" nitrous kit only injects nitrous. Nitrous wont work consistantly if it's not set up correctly. If it is... it can work fantastically!!!
  19. Yeah... to easily. Stay tuned for more soon! I just found out there is an event shceduled for April 10... there is a jet car scheduled too!!!
  20. Trust T618Z 10cm's as far as I'm aware.
  21. Unfortunatly I didn't take my big camera. But check out http://www.mysmokinride.com for the full story soon! I belive there is another mile event next month. If it's close I'll try and cover it with some better shots. J.
  22. Yeah it was absolutly mental!!! It actually makes you sad to see that only 200 or 300 people spectators turned up to watch. But there was 80 odd entrants for the event... These yanks throw some serious cash at top end cars! Also, the only skyline GTR at the event ended up with a hole in the block as big as your fist!!! But his first run was 192mph..! Cheers J. PS Off to moroso next month.
  23. Hey sports fans, I had an intersting day in Miami (well west of Miami) at the Top Gun Run- Miami Mile. www.topgunrun.com The event was held at a private airport... it was very fast and the furious "race warz"!!! ha ha ha... lots of top end cars, with some serious modifications!!! No less than a dozen vipers (8 were forced induction), 6 forced induction Lambo's, 5 brand new GTR's, 4 GT40's and a bunch of other exotics... I was invited by Trevor from wizard of nos http://www.noswizard.com/ ... who buy the way set up the world class, record setting nitrous kit in 12minutes. Trevor was there to run some new equipment on Performance Power's 1400hp twin turbo GT40. Insane!! The car runs around 10.5:1CR, boost spikes to around 37psi, twin precision turbo 75mm turbo's AND 100hp jetted shot of gass... Nut's just nuts. The car struggles for traction at 200mph in 6th gear! The first clean pass for the day resulted in 232mph. Then an hour later, with no set up changes other than activating the nitrous the car ran 252mph- with a missed 4th gear and average launch!!! I belive 252mph is the standing mile record for USA and I'm fairly shure the rest of the world... Here's a few pictures:
