  1. Why not try a Q45 AFM? It's larger than a Z32/RB25 etc. Run a 4" intake all the way from AFM back.
  2. Yeah, "they" also said that about the r35 GTR... electric motors and tubo's. Ferrari have enough warranty claim problems as it is.. I doubt they need more.
  3. Most of the marine jet turbine power plants I deal with on yachts use ceramic bearing technology. Ceramics are used to deal with thermal demand, more than the difference in friction. Also ceramic ball bearings are supposed to be more true or round... Hope it helps Justin. Back on turbocharger technology, if your interested.... we recently did some back to back road testing on billet compressor wheel turbos if your intrested. The billet comp wheel turbo was slighly bigger and rated higher, however it was ALOT more responsive and progressive. With the old tune, on the same boost the engine was very lean right from 1500rpm. With a touch up to the fuel and timing maps, the car jumped from 780 to 860bhp on the same boost.... the ignition was breaking down, once the misfires are sorted 900bhp should be easy.
  4. Damn that looks awsome... I just hope 6x 45mm tb's isn't to much tb for a little 20... either way it's going to sound awsome at 9k!!! ... yeah, these gts-t builds get's me thinking. ... overbore, shortskirt light weight pistons, lightweight rods, prepped crank and lots of ballancing. A little port work, some big ol cams, gtr itb's/inlet, ported stock manifold and small billet turbo. Super light flywheel and 4:11 gears. Uuuuuber revvy.
  5. stock 15yo 120k bottom end T517Z 10cm Greddy intake and dump pipe work 260 pon cams Apexi drag cooler Pump 98 23psi of boost (it wouldnt make any more boost) 396.8rwkw (made 402.5 but a little too lean) Hope it helps. J.
  6. Now thats an awsome Idea... ha ha ha. Especially when you charge 500 for instalation and 500 for removal. Whats with the new screen name Paul? ... then repeat. Drag racing or not, with well over 400kw at the treads it's likey to go pop. Even if it dosn't, it's no fun having to worry about "when or if" it goes. like beer baron said... it's not fun if you cant use it. I'd start saving for a new box, or turn it down to help it live. J.
  7. T78+RB26+GTS-T= FUUUN! I cant think of anything more fun... with your pants on anyway. If your woried about the "tune", invest in a oil pressure, fuel pressure and a/f ratio guage. Buy it- drive it like you stole it- enjoy. J.
  8. When I bought my GTR, the g-box was replaced in J land (on warranty from the auction yard) with a new box. 3 race meets later 3rd gear went bang. I had a brand new R3C installed as soon as the car hit aus. I was racing around 400rwkw and was into the low 11's before the box went. I was aware of the 3rd gear weakness, so I was taking it super easy. GL... your box will need it. J.
  9. Thanks for the info big fella. I'm diggin the black powder coating too. I'm seriously considering a similar theme applied to my 26 greddy plenum... Could you post up a pic when you have i all plumbed up under the plenum. Cheers Justin
  10. Box that pod up man!!
  11. Finally... an educated approach. As I understand them, the "hooning laws" completly bypass the chain of evidance or proof required for conviction.... Not to mention power to confiscate private property by "opinion"... Not even drugs lords in Miami get it that bad... at least the courts have to find the drug son of rajab "guilty" and the IRA has to collect back "taxes" before the government re-posess his yacht, house, 20 cars and his missus boob job. Hell the civil court dosn't even take his cars, it the fkn tax department!!! It's like having the police knock on your door and charge you with murder, because you look like the guy. Or your grumpy old neighbour handing you a speeding ticket, whenever he feels like it (because your driving a -japanese- car.... god damn japs). or if a police officer is having a bad day, then decides he dosn't like you- pooff! there goes your pride and joy... Hell hooning laws are very similar to new homeland security laws in america... the merkin government can walk into your home declare you as a potential threat to national securtiy (terrorist) and do what ever they like. no rights, no requirment for proof... just knock knock bang! If you follow this lodgic of evidence, why do speed cameras or red light cameras need calibrating... hell why do we need them at all? lets just stick all the sad, lonley people (who obviously have nothing better to do- on top of poles) at each red light and on the side of the highways??? - If they think your speeding then it must be so - What would you do if the police confiscated your big screen TV because your neighbour down the road said you were traveling to fast on it. Same thing... it's not the car's fault you were speeding. I bet they dont impound to many saab 220i's or volvo 240's??? and I've done more than the legal limmit in a volvo 240... was I still "hooning"??? And what the hell is hooning anyway? Apparently I'm a hoon (who hasn't been caught, actually never had a speeding ticket or trafic infringment ever) and I don't even know. Am I a hoon in a brand new mercedes or just in a highly modified dddaaaa skyline? I'm all for punishment that fits the crime... not punishment for all and tarnish with the same brush.... then if you escape it good for you. If I get pinned for speeding then I'll cop it. If I take off from the lights and give a little squeek (because of my tripple plate clutch) the accelerate in a controlled manner to the speed limmit- then no way! I can tell you now, no one will take MY car and crush/sell it... No one! This is not a rant, I just want people to start thinking about it as a law that gives a controlling body toooo much power. I love living in tassie, I love not having to worry so much about bs defects etc... I hope it stay's that way. The government needs to clearly define hooning and it's application. They need to have a good hard look at civil rights and the power for individual police to confiscate legal private property. Cheers Justin
  12. This will be interesting if you can get a result...
  13. Now thats an update!!! Out of interest, what are the engine mods limmitations for targa? Origional engine and capacity Origional head, but unlimmited mods? Origional turbo? In origional case ecu? Model spesific- cooler? front bar/aero? Unlimmited susp and brakes? Cheers Justin
  14. Your obviously loosing alot of spark energy. Take your coils out, clean the boots and replace any cracked boots. Wrap the boots in electrical tape or loom tape. Then spray silicone over them. Make shure the springs are in good nick and stretched out a little, also sake shure the the little black contacts at the ends are clean and square. J.
  15. If you have a drill press, use a "gasket cutter" I assume the hole your refering to is the center. Gasket cutter: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=...IwBA#ps-sellers Or you can make your own with a centerpunch, piece of wood and a scaple. Or you could peen it out... ever wondered what the rounded end on a ball peen hammer was for??? Or make a jig and route it out Or cut a hole in a piece of wood with your hole saw, then use that hole as a guide to cut it out with somthing sharp J.
  16. Dyno's are a tuning tool... the numbers will only really mean somthing if you start with a baseline on the same dyno. Did you do a baseline run on the same dyno before you thew a bunch of parts at it? Dyno's will vary by more that 30 or 40kw... think about the variations as percentage. People really need to get into the basics of an engine... and understand how things work, before they go spending up big on mods. Saying that, you have some work to do.... Basic fault finding! J.
  17. Nice... very nice. There is some hours in these pictures. I'm to embark in a nut&bolt re-build myself next year. Who did you use for plating? Also what prep was needed for the chroming on the plenum? Again, well done Justin
  18. Go find a more "happy" dyno...
  19. They're obviously stronger with a gear set. There are a few different options. Honestly I dont see there being much acceleration advantage with 6 gears, unless you have custom ratios. Fuel economy???? dude, it's a GTR... Top speed... how fast do you want to go? I did 312kph with my 5 speed PPG box and it had more in it (It was scary!). I have a 1-4 helical cut PPG gog box. It's quiet and I find it easy to use (used to drive professionally) and 5th is standard- cyncro and ratio. 1-4th ratios are different ratios. But if you do big miles, go for the PPG cyncro gear set.... better 1-4th ratios for acceleration, standerd 5th gear for highway driving and will take plenty of HP. Honestly a 34 6 speed conversion is alot of money for the result. J.
  20. XRATED

    Need Rb26

If you get super stuck, use a stag 25 bottom end with your 26 head.
  21. TBH we are making 860bhp and shooting for 900bhp+ with a china manifold... who knows how long it's going to last? However... If you buy one, to make it work/last you usually have to machine the flanges flat, grind the dodgy welding dags out and re-weld some of the joints... If you don't have the gear, it gets expensive. So you might as well buy a decent manifold to begin with. J.
  22. Why though?
  23. ... ha haha, oh yeah- just knocked em out. Nice one. Quality parts- if that's any indication, this SC install is going fantastic. I think evryone has to keep a lathe, mill and cnc lazer cutter in they're shed!!! Keep it up, Justin.
  24. They're the animals... I throw them in all my cars now. If your getting a washy feeling in the front end, I'd def. get the shocks and springs bench tested and matched back up.... While they're out, check all your bushings, wheel bearings, links and joints. Also invest in a strut brace... HR isn't well supported in the front end. J.
