water jet? if you get can get somone to do such a small job. I've had parts cut to .75mm tolerance... OR Manufacure your own sloted set screw from mild steel. If its a hydralic application, mild should last a long time. Justin

Post it up bud... Is it hard buying gear and getting it shipped from the J-Land yahoo auctions? I've never really looked at it. Cheers Justin.

Rb25de (supercharged) Project
XRATED replied to r33_racer's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
It's about time someone had a decent crack at SCing an RB. What is the hp drive requirment? Where are you going to mount it? Under the intake manifold with a sandwiched water to air cooler? I've allways thought about a twin charge rb26 set up... especially with the new rotrax centrifugal SC's available. Anyhoo... looking foward for the updates. J. -
Contact SPG- Nick Summers pushes out some great tunes. Also Mobile Mechanics- Martin is handling my install. Both in Hobart/Moonah.

istdercollen: That is super cool. Not to many people have the balls to take a sharpie to they're car. It's hard to stand out with a skyline these days.... Well done! I cant wait to see the whole car done. I've seen the Lambo around Miami... It's very unique, but if you get close- the detail is a little rough.

Dude, if you want 350bhp+ using a rb20.... there's going to be lag. You'll have to build it to rev. Go the TD06L2. If you want to keep the rb20, use a rb26 crank and rods with custom pistons. Keep the bore as close to stock as you can.... bored out rb20's seem to split blocks regularly. Port the head, thow some rb26 cams and solid lifters. Then throw as much boost and fuel at it as you dare...

Billet Aluminium Engine Block & Heads

I'd still like to know what they're asking for a 26 block... -
Dont you mean ROOAAAAAAR!

I know I'm digging up an OLD thread but..... Has anyone got any better Idea n where to get any of these r32, option parts new? Cheers Justin

What kind of amperage dose the coil draw? (Or what size wire goes to-from the coil?) 2 or 3 Amps? Cheers Justin

Dude... I'm not getting into one of your typical keyboard warrior arguments. Especially as your a mod (you will just delete my post... yes you do.) I did write that they take longer to come onto boost than a pair of gtss's... BUT WE'RE NOT COMPARING TURBOS! AND this is not going to be ANOTHER Trust v's HKS turbo comparison thread. You can't... they are completly different!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN prove that a td05 kit WILL make more power and spool slower than gtsss. I'm not and cant say they will spool faster or are comparitive- where did I post that? Horese for courses... They will however, produce the same power as a pair of gtss's at less boost, less exhaust manifold pressure and timing... thus easier on your engine. Personal note- Nismoid, I do find you very abrasive at times around the forum. Justin

This thread isn't about singles, 540bhp or how hard turbo's are to work on... reguardless of what else has been posted elsewhere. It's about TD05's... We've all thrown around different ideas, asking peoples opinions on different setups... why not? This site's purpose is to gain from others experience and share information. Back to the OP. A td05 kit would be unique, powerfull and look good in a S15. Yes the td05's will take more rpm to come into positive boost than gt-ss low mounts... They will also flow -ALOT- more air/hp with much less exhaust back pressure, less shaft rpm and cooler intake charge (all will atribute to more power and easier on your engine). If you have a built bottom end- even if you dont, 20+ psi of boost will nab you well over 400rwkw... even with a standard head. I made 398rwkw with smaller turbos on 98 pump fuel with a standard 15yo rb26. Trust turbos produce some good numbers... Cheers Justin
-
If the guy wants top mounts... he wants top mounts. GTSS's arn't the b all and end all in rb26 turbo's.... If he want's top mounts, td05's are going to be about the smallest top kit he's going to find easily. Response is relative...

Dude, grow up. That is a stupid thing to say. There have been plenty of stock engine 26 to reliably push over 400rwkw when tuned correctly. I raced a 15yo stock bottom end 26 for 2 drag seasons with nearly 400rwkw's... mid 10's. Willall's put a tdo6 kit on a stock re-build bottom end GTR with well over 400rwkw... that was 4 or 5 years ago at least....... A correcly tuned td05 kit would actually be easier on a stock engine, as compared to smaller turbos for the same power level. I'd suggest a set of drop in 260 deg cams to compliment them. Obviously you will need a fuel system and other supporting mods to get the best out of them. Cheers Justin

I have a td05 low mount kit for sale if your interested... 18-20 psi should be siliar response to a pair of T517Z 10cm and result in around 390+ rwkw Cheers Justin

Is it an N/A VL? I'm assuming it is. Your gearbox will limmit you to around 200 rwkw... after that it will break. (If it's a VL turbo box.... 250 rwkw and not much more.) Dont bother with a twin cam swap... Basic Recipe: - Basic re-build, with turbo pistons, good bearings and good oil pump. Clean the head up and use a new timing belt - New injectors, z32 afm, upgraded ignition coil, nistune and a VL turbo computer. - Front mount intercooler, VL turbo exhaust manifold, T3 flanged- internal wastegate turbo of choice and plumbing. - Ancillaries... clutch, consumables, hoses, pipe work, exhaust, intake, plugs etc... Tune it and go... BUT- Dont forget to upgrade your brakes, suspension and brain. If you want a quick streeter, keep it simple. if you want to go fast... how fast do you want to spend??? cheap- reliable- fast ... pick 2. If this is your first build up... be warned, cars and speed is addictive! Cheers Justin

Hey Benny, check out the link. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2009/11/17...i-p2-g1-gp.aspx Nice one.. Justin

Can vouch for Nick Summers (via SPG). I have also used Kutzie- Pro automotive... Very professional. Cheers Justin

Hey 9k, any updates with the T618Z's? I'd love to see any results if you have them. Cheers Justin Not to hijack 9k's thread, but in answer to your question... I made just shy of 400rwkw with a pair of 10cm T517Z's on a 150k bone stock 26. They wouldn't make any more boost than 24psi... even with the actuators wired shut. That was 5 years ago. The numbers were backed up with 136-138mph mid 10 sec 1/4's. That set up lasted nearly 2 years. Bolt on's only... even the stock exh manifolds were un-ported. Serously, keep the re-build simple if your staying with the T517z's. Stock- block, crank, rods- all prepped correctly, good oil pump, clean up the head and a 260deg drop in cams. GL Justin

That is insane! I love the rear guards... I saw this car in the flesh in Hobart 5 or 6 years ago. I was driving my 10 sec 32GTR and was still jelous. GL with the sale Justin

AWD Dyno Update: Car is getting a new plenum and individual tb... going for 900 at the wheels. -
The boost controller kits arn't all the same. You can actually fry a FC board if you plug in the wrong model boost controll kit to the wrong board. I'll take it for 120 delivered to Lutana/Moonah Tas. Cheers J
