Cheers big ears. I'll give the Hamish a bell. How much do you want for the mani, AFM and comp? Sweet looking 33 too. Is Kutzie looking after you? Thanks Justin.

Michelle's RB20DET is a total loss. We need a replacment RB to go in it. Not shure what direction to go with it yet. So we're open to anything. Let me know what you've got for sale. Cheers Justin (and Michelle)

I don't suppose you have the motor and box forsale? Cheers J

Rb26dett + Direct Port Nitrous Injection Setup
XRATED replied to XRATED's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm not bent yet/ummm they're not bent... I'm going to stay with stock comp ratio and probably lower the boost a few psi when I use a largish hit of gass (to keep cylinder pressures under controll), obviously pull some timing out (depending on tume ofcourse) to keep it fron knocking on the initial hit. Also I'm going to keep the line length from solinoid to the fogger manifold longer than required to slow the hit (obviously have the fuel line a little shorter than the gass line). Then see how I go... I am a little nitrous proud... hell even my go-ped has 5hp and a 2hp shot of gass!!! -
Rb26dett + Direct Port Nitrous Injection Setup
XRATED replied to XRATED's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Basically I want to optimise the current set up in the car. I would like to keep the T517Z's for the response/power delivery on the street (I live in Tassie... there are LOTS of great driving roads). But come race day fitt the bottle, make some more hp and torque. I like to race my street car. Nitrous allows me to race more consistant from day to night, by controlling/equalising intake temperatures etc. It also gives me more immediate torque to get out of the hole a little easier with a full weight car, without bouncing the thing off the limmiter at the line. For the power gains, nitrous is cheaper and gives better results than race fuel. There are other options for more power, but they all cost ALOT more for smaller results. If this makes me a homo (Dirt G) then IM PROUD!!!! ha ha ha. J. -
If your going to start from scratch, a neo head is a feasable option. However, if you consider the cost of custom making exhaust manifolds, changing/adapting the aftermarket plenum, sensors, machining for head bolts?, throwing away the OS valves and port job you have in the 26 head it becomes very expensive.... I posted the VCT question in the RB30 hybrid forum because you guys have more experience with adapting VCT than plain 25 or 26 forums. Saying that, I would like to keep my 26 head in my GTR... For the same reason why I will never convert the car to auto, will allways keep it twin turbo (with a usable power band) and will never put an RB30 bottom end in it. I would like to add to/enhance/optimise the current package...

I'm in the states right now and a buddy of mine just bought a HKS V-Cam set up for his 33GTR. It has a fairly large single and pumps out 780 odd whp. He made alot more bottom end and especially midrange power with the V-Cam system set up correctly. I would like simmilar results for my own 26, however I don't want to spend 5-7k on a brand name item. I have an aftermarket ecu that I will be able to use to controll a pressure controll valve, I will have to get a cam custom cut, line up some oil pasages and use a 25 VCT gam gear? Then spend some (free) time in r and d... I'm just trying to find out if anyone has had any results (good or bad) trying VCT on a 26 head. Cheers J

Rb26dett + Direct Port Nitrous Injection Setup

The spare injector placments on a Greddy plenum look to be the go. BU5TER'S set up is quite neat, however it looks like they are 90 deg foggers that sit in the runner.... I guess it's a ballance, good even flow and dispersion of fuel and nitrous v's a small flow restriction in the runner. Obviously the gain using nitrous far out weighs the small airflow restriction the fogger nozzle causes, but what if the nitrous is not used... how much restriction will the nozzle tip create? Anyone have any ideas? Cheers Justin ... I'd better run out and get a Motec System Exhaust too! -
Yeah, I kinda want to keep my GTR head in my GTR. Not a 25 head in a GTR.... If you know what I mean.

Has anyone had any success re-fitting a 25 VCT system to a 26 head? HKS V-cam is stoopidly expensive... Cheers J.

Fastest 1/4 Mile Unopened Rb26 In Australia ?
XRATED replied to Butters's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ahh the good ol days. I wanted that 10 sec slip so bad..... At that time Tassie was the last state to run a 10sec GTR pass. I got a lot of help over the phone from Peter Hall for set up and some driving tips from Kier Willson... That engine lasted nearly 2 years... untill I un/intentionally?? blew it the day before I left to go work overseas. -
Rb26dett + Direct Port Nitrous Injection Setup
XRATED replied to XRATED's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thats probably where I'm going to end up. Straight shot foggers, threaded into the second injector boss in an after market intake plenum. Was there any serious clearance issues with the plumbing around the fuel rail? -
I'm embarking on a direct port approach to my nitrous injection. I have run 50 and 100hp sucessfully through a single fogger. However to ensure even distrobution at higher nitrous flow rates I need to go to a individual tb/direct port- 6 fogger injection set up. I have a good Idea on the way I would like to go, however I havn't seen too many individual set ups on a 26 before. It would be super helpfull if I had some photo's of other peoples set ups to compare too. Or any advice from those who have completed an install similar. Please note: This is a street car 70% of it's life and I'm trying to not install 90 degree fogger straight into the runners. Cheers Justin This is my current set up:

Fastest 1/4 Mile Unopened Rb26 In Australia ?
XRATED replied to Butters's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
10.675 @ 137.89mph from memory. It did have 260 deg pon cams and cam gears set to zero (I still class it as an unopened engine). It was also with a 50hp shot of gas. Just good bolt ons (T517z's). The car was raced with full furnature, street exhaust, street legal tyres, stereo etc.... -
Hp Limmit Or A Gtr Apexi Gt Spec Cooler?
XRATED replied to XRATED's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
There arn't too many flow benches in tassie.... sepecially that do performance work. I'm looking for some real world figures/results from people who have run this cooler. Cheers J -
Who's used an Apexi GT spec cooler in a GTR? I'm currently using one at around 400rwkw. Will it pose a flow restriction or limmit power production around 500rwkw?

Help Me Decide Which Turbos For A Street/track Setup Gtr
XRATED replied to BoostdR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Any updates guys? Who ended up with what... and how did it turn out? Also, had anyone got a head to head t517z 10cm to t618z 10cm comparison??? -
Ha ha ha ha... I remember going for a lash in it with Andrew (the origional owner) the day it rolled off the boat. It pushed 240 odd rwkw later that week. It was fast back then.... especially compared to my r31 gts-x coupe!!! Ahh.. the good old days. We allways wondered what was under that head....

Sweet. I have a datalogit! What VH AFM's are the best to use, VH41-VH45? Pre or Post 1995??? Or are they calibrated and wired the same? Cheers J.

Big diesel rules!!! I say bring back the TRUCK RACING SERIES!!! -
Is there a Q45 AFM "option" in the PFC??? I havn't looked at my PFC for a few years. If not, is it alot of work to re-calibrate/tune with Q45 compared to Z32's? Obviously there is a wiring/plug change. What year AFM's should be looking for? Cheers Justin
