  1. From my experience: Buy a cheap house as soon as you start working, this stops you getting into the habit of having money (after being at school, uni, on the dole for awhile you can live on anything) and make sure to pay alot more than the minimum repayments. Drive a low maintenance, low fuel piece of crap holden nova for 8yrs. Once you have enough cash available in redraw on home loan go and buy the sucker outright. The arguments on here for never owning a car are legitimate but I did find a big difference in insurance quotes when I let them know the car was owned and not financed at all. - Now the happy owner after oh so long of a 2000 2 door bayside GTT and pretty damn sure the novelty is never going to wear off.
  2. Just to keep the numbers up in blue.... rear_angle_passengers.bmp front_angled_drivers.bmp Took delivery Tuesday, thrilled to bits.
  3. I have often been told (and it makes perfect sense) that when parking in an area known for druggies to remove everything from all consoles and leave them open so they can see there is nothing worth pinching for quick cash. I guess this doesn't only relate to druggies but the info seemed useful nonetheless.
  4. Check out an aluminium window/door manufacturer. My company sometimes uses what is often called 'DVA' or 'one-way' mesh in security doors instead of normal flywire. It is hard to tell from your pic but this may be the stuff you are after. It is aluminium and available in a heap of powdercoat colour finishes. If no luck, get in contact with the company "Al-Spec" (Aluminium Specialties Group). They are a wholesaler we buy it from. They are nationwide and should be able to put you onto someone in your area who uses the stuff if you ask nicely. Hope this helps somewhat.
  5. Not looking forward to hacking away at anything but if that is what it takes..... I don't mind, I am sure most people here have a pretty good idea what things cost anyway. All up, on the road I will be looking at around $28k
  6. The short height of the coloured plates will leave nasty gaps above/below on the front by my guesstimates. Might just wait til I go see it when it comes in and take a template of the plate size with me. Would really like the coloured plates but if need be, the NSW 2+3 letters/numbers white on black should fit nicely.
  7. Thanks, but bar is different to a 98 model. Trying to attach a couple of pics, here's hoping they work.
  8. Hi all. I have a 2000 R34 GTT incoming and have just started thinking about number plates for when it arrives. After looking at the pics I have of it (standard body kit) I have no idea how/if I will be able to fit coloured (as in the blue ones) NSW plates to it as they seem to be much too wide and short for the plate space provided. I trawled through the forums here with no luck finding a similar sob story so thought would be as good a reason as any for my first post and am hoping someone else has had to solve the same problem. Cheers.
