Hey Guys, I bought one of these things on Thursday night and it's great value. The service there is great and the range is one of the largest in Sydney. I bought a MDS R series for $100.00 which I think are awesome while MDS may be one of the the cheapr ones, but they are a subsiduary of AGV (it even still had the AGV branding on the indside) and it had a great fit. I managed to get a free bag out of the deal aswell. I was a little suprised that I was the first person to actually take advantage of this group buy (according to them) considering there was all of this "Track Talk" buzz floating around. Cmon guys, get yourself a helmet and get your asse on da track!!!! Moot

HOWTO: RB25DET High Boost mode with standard solenoid
Kennedy replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Why bother with all this passive relay / regualr relay stuff? A simple 3 way switch(PTT) will do just as good a job? waiting for someone to shoot me down..... -
Go to "Reycycle Bin" then "ENGINES and ENGINE COMPONENTS". Scroll down about halfway

Turning A Standard Bov Into A Atmo Bov
Kennedy replied to lows_13's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I see.... So why do you want to turn a stock BOV (which you don't have) into an atmo one? Trust me...the stock one is loud!!!! If you wanna make it louder then get a metal intake pipe. The stock one is ten times better on a stock ECU. If you get a power FC then go atmo all the way End of Story. -
HAHAHAHA ROFL I'm gonna have a stitch for a week.

Turning A Standard Bov Into A Atmo Bov
Kennedy replied to lows_13's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No benefit. Much the same way as there is no benefit with running a atmo BOV. How about you tell us why you want a atmo bov? If it's for something other than then rice factor then perhaps we can collectively think of another solution for your untold troubles. Moot -
Not sure why but I had a mate that bridged it at the O2 sensor at the dump pipe and it shorted his stock ECU. Besides, it's much easier to run a wire from your dash/ A pillar to your stock ECU rather than run a wire through your firewall and onto your sensor.

Turning A Standard Bov Into A Atmo Bov

In Short No. The lack of air on the intake IS the reason why it stalls. Throw a pod on and it'll make a sound. or Block off the stock BOV with a pod andf it'll make a cooler sound. or Forget about sound and concentrate on other things like CAI, Hi Flow CATS and FMIC. Moot -
What brand is it? Different colour wires for different brands. Basically it's one wire for power, one wire for ground and one wire piggy backing off the O2 sensor wire coming off the dump pipe. Best to make the join at the ECU pin out. (number 29 I think...can someone please confirm?)

But you would want to try out the helmet first though. Best to go there in person. Moot

Who Likes Track Days? Who's Scared Of 'em? Who Can't Afford It?
Kennedy replied to Abo Bob's topic in New South Wales
Damn straight. Skylines are freaking brilliant on the track and makes novice drivers look good. If we were all driving S15's or MR2's then it would be a different story. Alot harder to drive around a track on da pipe. Stay clear of S15's and MR2's. I had 2 MR2's on 5 seperate occasions lose it right in front of me. WRX's are the same. Skylines rock! Slight oversteer?? BRING IT ON!!!!! (then bring it back) Moot -
Is it a GT wing or is it a wing that uses the existing wholes from the stock spoiler?

Mines R34 In Australia
Kennedy replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Saw the Autostyle "Mines" 34 2 days ago at Wakefield putting down some laps. It was struggling The car sounded fantastic on the straight but was sluggish through the infield. It washed off bucket loads of corner speed. It was really struggling with turn 8(the one that leads onto the back straight) and I swear he was grabbing second throughout the whole day. There are two reasons for this, either the driver was inexperienced (perhaps a recent purchaser) or the car had terrible street tyres with no grip. I managed to get a close look at the 34 at the track at the thing looks freaking sweet. Love the carbon detail on the spoiler and the overall FAT look of the car. get this....I lapped HIM!!!!!!!! TWICE!!!!!!!! Once on his warm up lap and once on his cool down lap . You owe me $100.00 Tosh Overall, I think the car is one sweet looking machine but I do think the genuine Mines 34 is miles ahead of it on the track. Is there anyone on here from Autostyle or someone knows the owner confirm what troubles it was having on Tuesday? BTW, I have a short video of the Autostyle 34 here. How do I attach it to my post? A Moto X helmet will be fine but a Moto Street bike helmet would be more comfortable. That Yamaha shop on Epping Road has them starting at $120.00 for a full face helmet. $60.00 for open face -

I thought all the 33 turbo's were ball bearing?

Abo, I noticed from your sig that your planning a track day at Wakefield mid year....Do you have a rough price yet? To be perfectly honest if the price turned out to be dearer than a "No Speed Limit day' at Wakefield well then I would choose not to partake in your event. Once again...I, and a alot of others here drive on a budget. But please don't think I'm saying anything derogatory. I can understand that your costs to hire out the track for our use could understandably cost alot more than a public track day at Wakefield. I enjoy SAU. I'm a full paying member, and not a whinging tight asse but I do want VALUE for my money. Moot -

No. I was in the Gun-Metal grey 33 GTS-T. Not the one that was throwing out flames...the other one. -

Hey Abo, Well I just did my first track day at Wakefield yesterday and I can tell you now.....I'm hooked. Got the bug bad. All day today at work I'm just daydreaming of the fantastic time I had yesterday rather than doin any work. Who likes track days ? - ME and forever will Who's scared of them ? - I was scared a little expecially after watching my first super sprint at Oran Park 2 days before my first track day and seeing WRX's slam into the walls. I was also scared of damaging my pride and joy with my limited budget Who can't afford it? - I can and I can't 1. Let me tell you the biggest reason for me that is....MONEY. I'm a budget skyline owner. Now the reason why I wen't to Wakefield. FREAKING CHEAP. $90 for the whole day and yesterday I managed to get out 6 or 7 times at about 20-30 mines each. That is fantastic value that can't be topped. (or can it?) Money for tyres - Alot of us can't afford the semi-slicks and it's very easy to go through 50% tread on your street fronts (especially at Wakefield) taking it easy. 2. Perhaps alot of people out there are unsure whether there car can take the thrashing of a track day. We should educate skylines owners that a bone standard Skyline CAN handle a track day IF driven sensibly and WITHIN it's limits. My car has no FMIC, no oil cooler, standard ECU, standard turbo. All I have is a unsheilded POD, 17's 235/255 and coilovers and CAT back exhaust. That's IT, and I was pulling 1.18's by end of the day (very first outing) I controlled my self when I thought the tyres were going soft and took 2 cool down laps before heading off for another 3 hot laps. I did the 3 and 2 combo all day and the car performed at it's peak throughout the whole day (plus it was pretty hot) At the end of the day, If an SAU track day is gonna set me back $230.00 plus CAMS liscence plus petrol well I'd rather go down to Wakefield and pay half. As much as I would love to have a get together at a track with you guys, at the end of the day for me...it's just money and I can't afford to throw away. My suggestion...If you can hire out wakefield for the same price and a closer track at Wakefield prices (i know that would be impossible) then I would definitly be in. As it stands now...I'd rather spend the left over $100.00 on a Oil and filter change post trackday. Sam -
I didn't bring my stop watch but my guesstamate was 1.15's as i saw the times other guys were pulling
-
Spotted the "Mines" copycat Autostyle 34 yesterday at Wakefield. The car sounded fantastic on the straight but was slow through the infield. the guy kept on grabbing second. Enough Said.
