Another R30 Pic Thread....
Ravenoak replied to Factory 5's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
I have got that same Gibson motorsport poster but autographed by Fred himself. -
Some awesome shots you got of my DR30... cheers! Great day and big thanks to everyone involved. Must say what great venue too and can't wait till the next one.
-
Fax going off today and payment in the account. Will be in the DR30. cheers
-
Spotted YLDDR30 (his SAU name) in the red DR30 with the RB singing on Friday arvo in Castlecrag (Eastern Valley Way). Dont think you saw me but I was heading north in my DR (getting its monthly exercise. Must be the first time in a long time 2 DR30's have crossed paths in NSW. cheers

This is the second time this year the car has been for sale. I think it was on ebay. The bones of it look ok and provided you can get it cheap enough to reflect it is not a real DR then it wouldnt be too bad.

Eoi Or Swap: Dr30 Rs 1984 Sydney
Ravenoak replied to Ravenoak's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I have now pulled the car from sale as I have moved and have somewhere to keep it along with my other cars. As for value, I suggest you actually look at the cars before you comment. I had a buyer at $14800.00 but as I no longer have storage issues I have now removed it from sale. cheers -
That is the right sort of money to be asking. I have someone looking at mine on Saturday and he knows that is roughly the price I want for mine and he is still keen. The only stumbling block could be his finance. cheers

R30's Represent At Canberra's Jdmfest 09
Ravenoak replied to Factory 5's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Are you still selling the R30 or are you going keep it. Depending on the price I may know someone who would take it off yuor hands. cheers -
Dont have a matching Cam Cover as well? I would be interested if you have a matching set. This will save me repainting my own manifold and cam cover. cheers

Not A Skyline But "classic" Nonetheless
Ravenoak replied to Ravenoak's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Looks like I have managed to secure a new house with room for both the DR and TR8. This means unless someone is going to offer me good money for the DR I will pull it from sale. -

Lol...true most Triumphs have already been to Sims for conversion into scrap but then again most DR's have gone that way as well after succumbing to tin worm. At least it is the wedge shape R30 and R31 coupe owners love... Despite its age, the TR8 is a weapon. I guess after dumping the rubbish British stuff like the gearbox, diff, suspension etc it has a chance of being a good car ;-) -
I am no expert on R31's but these machines seem to be up to $15k depending on condition. It has low kms and if it is in showroom condition it would be around that mark. Then again, in this current used car market who knows?

Ahh yes the noise. It well and truly hooked me. As much as I love turbo cars, there is no substitute for a grumpy V8. -

As you are aware I have the DR30 up for sale. The reason I have it for sale is because I now have the racecar together with my Mazda6 MPS daily (which occasionally has been a track toy). Too many cars and not enough room. For those with some interest in other classic machines here is my new beast at Eastern Creek last month. Unlike most British cars it has been reliable so far with only a few minor niggles I am sorting at the moment. The noise is just fantastic and despite the short wheelbase it is not as much as a handful as you think. It certainly gave a lot of M3's something to think about at Eastern Creek. Specs: Triumph TR8 3.9 litre stroked to 5 litre V8 (around 300 odd horses) roller rockers, ported heads, 600 holley engine moved lower and rearward for better weight distribution supra 5 speed VL rear axle, LSD diff Commodore studs and brakes Koni suspension, swaybars etc 15 inch minilite wheels comp seats and harnesses monza red paint and Group B rally flares race weight about 1000 kgs all engineered and regoed for Sunday afternoon "sorting" runs -

Eoi Or Swap: Dr30 Rs 1984 Sydney
Ravenoak replied to Ravenoak's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I not really sure on rego requirements in Victoria. My golden rule has always to buy a car in my own state to avoid those hassles. Nevertheless, it has import improval (TIC sticker under the bonnet) and had an engineers certificate lodged with the NSW RTA when it was imported (i.e australian spec seat belts, side intrusion bars fitted etc). Everything works so a RWC should be no problem. The only thing that would need to be done for a fresh engineers approval in Victoria (if required) would be to re fit the child restraint harness bolts in the rear parcel shelf (I removed them when I put in the new parcel shelf as my kids are old enough now). I suggest you contact VicRoads and ask them as I would hate for it to go pear shaped!! cheers -

It has adjustable strut tops on a Bilstein suspension but not coilovers. -

The only pic I have is when I bought it over 3 years ago. It is a bit cleaner than this now but you get the idea. -
Send him my way...my DR30 can be had for less than $20k! I expect like most people I have encountered he would pay $20k if he had $200k in the bank but alas they have less than 20c to their name......

How Much Is Your R30 Valued At?
Ravenoak replied to GTR30's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
It is difficult times to get a true value on the R30's. Mine is for sale at around $15k. I knocked back a genuine $20k offer 2 years ago but times have changed. Compliments abound and people express the view if they had the money they would buy it. Only problem is that most dont have that sort of money, especially when it would be a 2nd or 3rd car. Fortunately I currently have somewhere to keep mine so I am not that stressed about it not moving. The market will improve again and values will go up. -

Now on carpoint. My new toy has arrived and I dont want to wear out my welcome with the Skyline in my mate's garage. Price obviously pretty flexible to a genuine buyer. http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/NISSAN...csn7264527.aspx -

Ravenoak replied to Ravenoak's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
My new beastie has now arrived and whilst I have access to my mates garage to store the DR30 I dont want to wear out my welcome long term. It is now on carpoint but the asking price there is not reflective of what I sell it to a genuine Skyline enthusiast. PM or give me a call if you are interested. cheers
