Genuine R31 Gts-r, What Are They Really Worth?
Ravenoak replied to yellowneo31's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
I assume it is the one on carsales: http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...p;category_id=3 that has been listed for donkey's years. I guess it proves you have to be an enthusiast to pay nearly GTR dollars for a R31. Then again I am a mad bugger who bought a DR30. -
It is the centre cap from these rims http://www.otomoto.com.au/showroom.htm if you scroll down you can see the GT-P rims with the caps on them The cap covers the nuts and the centre and on my 16 inch GT-P rims the overall diameter of the cap should be around 145 mm.
-
Looking to buy 4 centre caps for Volk GTP rims. I dont know if other Volk centres fit but the caps should have a threaded section that allows for the cap to be screwed over the open centre (if that makes sense). I know it is a long shot but there is no harm in asking... cheers

Got my Peter Jackson Racing DR30 poster signed by Fred Gibson, drooled all over the Nissans (and a few A9X's if the truth be know;-)) got the Nissan shirt signed and throughly enjoyed the Skyline's in action. Top day!

I have tracked down the rear wiper motor and arm on fj20.com. Booster is also supplying me some other R30 stuff. The parcel shelf from an Aussie R30 wont fit as I think the rear glass curves around too much and the trim wont fit against it. Fortunately, the trim on the parcel shelf as it fits to the lower glass area is ok. What I will do is fabricate a new section for the flat area, join it to the old parcel shelf and re trim in black carpet or vinyl. As regards to your earlier question re the Pioneer box speakers Dennis, they are in good condition, Cant decide whether to fit some new flush speakers or go old school and refit the Pioneer speakers to the new reinforced parcel shelf? What are your thoughts? I contacted SSS and they dont have parts I need. I havent contacted JustJap yet as I dont have the cash at this stage for seats or a retrim. The seats are non electric so that removes that problem. Long story short, very soon I will have most of the stuff I need with the exception of the seats/retrim and some trim for the boot area, in particular the trim panel that covers the rear lights and the space saver spare strap.

Sounds good Dennis. We can put the 2 R30's side by side at the next Skyline nationals. Thanks. My big challenge is now hunting down some missing bits from the car (rear wiper motor and arm included) and tidying up some unsympathetic modifcations down in Japan (bodgy boost gauge, rear parcel shelf stuffed up from big box speakers etc). I have already located some of the other missing bits though and in the next 12 months (no money at the mo for expensive retrims). I will need to hunt down 2 matching seats for the front (the seats currently dont match) and then probably get the interior retrimmed to make sure it all matches and the sun damage on the top of the rear seats is corrected. I will have to get to work on the boot area as well as it is a bit of a mess as well. All good fun. Cant believe the stares you get on the road. People just have no idea what the hell the car is! However, I have already been "challenged" to a traffic light race by a FPV GT...I just let him go. My street racing days are long over. He would have beat me anyway but no need to admit to that.
-
It will be babied and I am going to show it at the Skyline Nationals next year. It needs a tidy up in a couple of places (trim mainly) but otherwise it is good as you could find. My wife has ordered me DR30XX plates for fathers day so look out for it on the road on a sunny Sunday....

Last Chance R30 Parts Giveaway
Ravenoak replied to B0oStEr's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
I am looking for an ashtray (black preferrably), cigarette lighter and a centre console (for a manual, without power window switches). If you have any of these items will you psot to Sydney at my cost? cheers -
Bought Adrian's (Discopotato03) DR30. Its all good No longer looking. cheers
-
Sorry but a couple of more questions I just thought of: Air con? if so, working ok? Power windows and/or mirrors? not sure if this model had them or not Rego till? All import documentation including engineers certificate for side intrusion bars etc? Any finance owing on vehicle? Apart from the clutch change any other repairs in the last couple of years? Window rubbers ok?
-
No rush. Whenever you get the chance. My tax return will be funding the purchase anyway. The scanned article will give me a good idea anyway as it sounds like the car has had very mods and little use since B.E's ownership. cheers

Eagerly awaiting some photos How many k's has it done? cheers

Look forward to the pics.

Sounds pretty good. It will definitely not be a daily driver so I can probably live with the clutch. Look forward to the pics. Do you have the original drivers seat?

I have put this in the for sale section as well but I thought I would try the targeted approach by posting in the classics section as well: Looking for a fairly low km DR30 turbo 2 door in immaculate condition. Mild mods ok but the more original the better. Would prefer iron mask front, although will consider a mint non iron mask. No particular colour preference although I am not interested in non factory colours. Given the hassle of shipping, RTA inspections etc I would prefer a NSW regoed car. I know I am demanding but if your car fits the criteria and you were tossing up about selling, here is your chance. PM me with your details. cheers

How much did you sell your DR30 for?
-
It is a GL auto, nothing special except its condition

Hey Alfadaog that is a very nice 240k (nee GTR) you have. Do you still run the L series motor in it or has it been punted for something else? cheers

How Much Is A Hr30 Pnv Worth?
Ravenoak replied to Zapata's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
In NSW the new no turbo's for p platers would be having an effect on cars less than $10 grand (typical p plate buying territory). As a side, I noticed nearly 1 mil new cars were sold in Oz last year. That is a NEW car for every 1 in 20 man, woman or child in this country Most of those people would have offloaded a car to get into a new one. No wonder second car values are shiite. Old supply and demand for second hand cars has very much swung it in the buyers favour. Still being the original owner of Zapata's Skyline I can tell you it was a nice car but as many of you have said, trying to explain to someone why they should pay extra for car named after a man more famous these days for spaghetti sauce is a tough ask. As a side note all of mates nicknamed the car "salad dressing" when I owned it. Not derogatory mind you, they just didnt understand Paul Newman's connection to cars. -

I think people who own some of the Nismo special & NUR spec Skyline GTR which were only made in the low 100's as opposed to 1000's may disagree about the rarity issue. I also thought (and I will stand corrected if I am wrong) that there were 5000 PNV's made?
