  1. Are you describing Grant's Lancer? That's a ricer if I've ever seen one Rice comes from Rice-Burner, which was used by yank Harley riders to decribe Jap bikes. It was then applied to jap cars, and later to cars that where dressed beyond thier performance (in the US it's usually Hondas). Grant's Lancer, like so many in Perth, is a classic example with a full body kit and massive rear wing on a Lancer GLi. Needs some Apexi/HKS/Blitz stickers though. Beauty is the eye of the beholder, and my last car was Civic VTiR with a body kit, so who am I to talk. My exhaust on my R33 is viewed as comedic by many, including me (5" tip).
  2. I think it also burns hotter, so while adding a lot is good for octane/spool time/boost it is bad for O2 sensors.
  3. Try a google search for "bmw 335i". Check out this one also http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_1735/article.html . Stick with BMW engines I reckon.
  4. Is it a 7psi spring or a 5psi spring? If the stock 2-stage solenoid bleeds off air to get more boost at high RPM, wouldn't it be a 5psi with the bleed allowing 7psi. I don't see how it could do it with a 7psi spring to only get 5psi boost. I have asked this before in threads where people have suggested removing the stock solenoid to have 7psi throughout the range, but no answers. Anyone?
  5. Control Systems Engineer, mainly in the mining industry
  6. If it only has 3 wires, it probably just scales the AFM signal across the range. ie. more fuel through out range, or less. There is article on something like this on Autospeed.com
  7. Your ECU runs closed loop with feedback from the O2 sensor at low load and open loop under the hammer, so it uses both. I am not sure how this would apply to an EBC. The feedback in that case is the MAP sensor, but I don't know why it would run at any time ignoring the MAP. That would be just operating like a manual bleed valve.
  8. There might be something in that. I have a R33 and married a red head.
  9. Do they make clear indicators for decent cars? I thought they where only for Civics/Lancers.
  10. Jaycar and Autospeed have kits (might be same). www.rev-lite.com has them also
  11. Or you could thermowrap cheaper and uglier. There is a thread in here somewhere about pricing ceramic coating and thermowrap. Rev210 wraps his doesn't he, or was that the dump pipe?
  12. T1H5TA3 - The king of plates (Best viewed in rear view mirror)
  13. Yes. More than that you need one to use it. It still gives 0 - 5VDC, but the 5V is a high flow. Putting it in without something to rescale it would mean your ECU thinking there was lower flow that what you are getting. Bad
  14. I think MRT sell the aquamist.
  15. MC have training days with instructors 16th Feb…..16th Mar….. 20th Apr.….18th May…..29th Jun….. $55. Don't know about down south though. It last about 3.5 hours, with about 8 to 10 one minute runs, depending on attandance.
  16. Ewwww. I though only Hondas had under car neons.
  17. Mine has Apexi coilovers which where far too low when I bought it. It used to scrape the tyres in the arches, and scrape exhaust bits on dips in the road. I lifted it 25mm, and it still below legal, but because I have stock body it rarely scrapes now. Except in my own driveway which has a big slope and a lump at the top. That 25mm didn't make a huge difference in handling, and its still set firm, but then I don't know how a stocker handles. Might want to have the wheel camber checked, or make friends with tyre retailers
  18. This Autospeed article that says that tyre width is not main determining factor in tyre grip. It said car weight and tyre pressure determine contact patch on the road. eg. a 205 has the same area on the ground as a 235, but it is longer and narrower, for the same weight, same pressure. Food for thought.
  19. I think the VTiR integra does around a 16 also. My last car was a Civic VTiR. It was a nice car, but the GTST pulls a lot harder. Probably the biggest difference is the wide torque range. The GTST pulls well from 3000-7000rpm, the honda from 5500-8000rpm.
  20. The fuel tank has a vent to stop pressure build up when it warms up. Combustable gases under pressure are dangerous, so don't block it. The carbon canister strips some of nastiness in fuel getting in the atmosphere. Removing it would be illegal, and if you do it at least make sure it doesn't vent onto some thing hot, like engine bits, brakes or some bugger's cigarette butt.
  21. Just over half way
  22. Try this one (from lowlux). I haven't been able to get the editing software to run properly, but I will have another crack when I get time. I want it for my RB25DET though.
  23. Or a T-SPORT Flat-Shift can do the full shift rev cut what ECU you have. $280. Can someone please try one of these, so I can find out if they are worth the free plugs I keep giving them?
  24. I promised to post video of GTRKen drifting it up at the Pro Max thingo. Better late than never. Video is 10Mb and the pics are 1.5mb. I will leave them there for a few weeks.
  25. Yeah posted by me. When I first found it 6 months back, I noticed the was R33 wiring diagram on their FAQ, so someone has one on a 'line. The only that has stopped me trying one is that I intend to try and make a controller that can do this, amongst other things (ie. AFM intercept, boost control, data log, and maybe traction control)
