  2. Standard R30's rule!
  3. YEAR: 1984 MODEL: MR30 BODY: Sedan COLOUR: White Modifications: According to the Skyline Nationals last year, it's standard enough to be runner up original! What a joke!
  4. Everybody knows that it way too expensive to get decent power out of an 'L' series anyway!
  5. If I'm thinking along the right lines, one is a sign wave and the other a square wave, so they need some sort of electronic wizardry to talk to each other.
  6. I have an '84 MR30 on gas for sale in SA. It does need some mechanical work but overall is pretty good. The tank needs it's 10 year inspection. It's done 365k. It's a 4 speed auto with lockup on 3rd and 4th (Yeah I know it's very unusual) but that's the way I bought it for my son. We've spent over $2k on it and will sell for $1200 ono. It needs rego but will put on for a serious buyer. PM me if interested. Rob. BTW it's my sons, not my little baby!
  7. Hey Marc, here's the shot of yours coming into turn 1.
  8. Hi Blue, as you say each scrutineer has there own pet thing they look for. I look for perished/old fuel lines and stuffed brake pads and rotors. I think my only conern with your car was the slight scuffing of the seat belts as they pass around the seat frame (quite sharp), but I made a suggestion that you are aware of it and perhaps do something that makes the edge less sharp. If any scrutineer makes an unreasonable request, politely ask them to show you in the CAMS manual where it is required, as that is an item you may have inadvetantly missed.
  9. Some of my photos of the 2 days. Enjoy! http://cid-85e9a6d8c6fa4be0.photos.live.co...012%202010?uc=1
  10. Can I ask what you are referring to with this comment? I was one of the scrutineers and from my part, the majority of the cars presented was of a "very high quality" (quote from the chief scrutineer). "Any issues that were encountered were fixed with no fuss and no problems". Especially considering that a large number of them were first timers on the track and had little or no knowledge of the requirements.
  11. Do not get me wrong, I was stoked to get a trophy/recognition for the time, money and effort I had put into my car over the years. But standard? I was not aware of the trophies for the peoples choice etc. I believe that they could have said something like "I know theese people are not here but let us just quickly go thru the winners of the other classes" or similar. It left us all wondering about how such cars could be ignored. At least now after your explanation some of these questions have been cleared up, so thanks for that.
  12. I agree with you. No-one was more stunned that me when my car was named as runner up in standard class!!!!! The standout was indeed the Black C110 and should have taken people choice award.....oh that's right, there wasn't one of those either.
  13. The last thing I want is to come away from this with a label and from previous cruises I can see that happening. I tend to go along for a while but if they get out of hand I get out of the cruise!
  14. Yeah, I have to travel all of 3km to Glenelg. I'm not sure the heater will have started working by then.....
  15. Not sure why you want to go with Weber carbys (for the sound maybe) but if you go dedicated LPG, emissions are no longer relevant as they are not tested with an LPG setup. My car is proof you do not need to spend huge $'s to get performance. I will be at the Nationals on the 11th at Colley reserve. come and say hi and we can chat.
