  1. It should cost about $50 to get your lights checked and general road worthiness. Then stamp duty on the valve of the car, then rego. I can never remember paying a $8 fee for anything. I'd just like to see the paperwork saying the rego can be transferred over for $8, which is what was implied first off. If it's true, I've been ripped off twice by Service Tas! Cheers, Greg.
  2. Meh, I don't do the whole MSN thing. Have better ways to waste my time! If you think you can do it for $8, and can get away with it legally, you deserve a Knighthood!
  3. To my knowledge, there is 3 of us now. We have a Pearl White S1 RS-Four, a flat white S1, and yours. Apparently another one has come down from NSW in the last week or two but I don't know who has it down here.
  4. No offence but you're on drugs! Have you registered a car from the mainland down here? I have twice so unless the rules have changed somewhat in the last 2 months....
  5. Can you please PM me a pic of the 3" muffler? I may be keen. Cheers, Greg.
  6. Where in Hobart are you?? Look in the Tassie section of BoostCruising. There was a thread about this about 3 weeks ago with lots of suggestions. I know it's Boost but there is some good info on there.....sometimes! Cheers, Greg.
  7. Easiest way is to draw up a letter of sale, with both your full names on it, and witnesses preferred, stating date, time, price etc at time of changeover. That way there is written proof if speeding tickets happen on the way back down, or earlier that morning (to cover both of you!), plus it also acts as a recipt for Service Tas when you go to register it down here. Where in Tassie are you? As long as the car is in good nick, just take it to a servo who does inspections, pay your $50, then take the paperwork to Service Tas, pay your money and get your plates. Also, get insurance for the car now. Tell them when you are picking it up, and as much info as you have on the car. They will cover you and give you a couple of weeks to make the first payment. Well, Shannon's do! I've brought two cars from the mainland, both this way, and apart from dickhead sellers, never had a problem with the process I've just described. Hope it helps. Cheers, Greg.
  8. Spotted a white Stagea with the hatch spoiler (and R34GTT mags?) down at Tas Laser Skirmish today at lunch time. Whoever it was, I was the fella who shot up the guy doing the demo for your group to show you what happens when you get shot! WAS SOOOOO MUCH FUN! Cheers, Greg.
  9. Spotted a white R33, and a dark green over grey (I think) R33 getting around Old Beach today near the cricket ground. Both sounded tough, but the white was tougher! Cheers, Greg.
  10. There is a R33/S1 Stagea turbo for sale in the Stagea area, but he want's $400 for it, in Bathurst. Cheers, Greg.
  11. Ta! Typo's suck! Especially when it's $100k difference! Cheers, Greg.

Link is : http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rsear...p;tm=1203497466 Cheers, Greg.
  13. Pic of the R32 steering wheel for condition? Might be keen for my R31. Cheers, Greg. P.S. Where in Tassie are you?
  14. Hey all, As the title says, I need the oil and water fittings for a R33 turbo. Was sold a R31 being told there was a R34 turbo fitted. Turns out it's a VLT unit and the fittings are different! (Only found this out after buying and modding a R33 turbo to suit my setup!) Need the items in Hobart. Cheers, Greg.
  15. Sorry to jump in on your thread but I also need the oil flanges for a R33 turbo (changing from a VLT unit). From the looks of it, the banjo bolts will go across but the 2 bolt flanges won't. I also have a RB25 actuator, with bracket, sitting in my garage. Cheers, Greg.
  16. Hey all, I need / want to make a custom dump pipe for my R33 turbo, but I can't seem to find anywhere that sells the blank dump pipe flanges. After the flange in 10mm mild steel (not stainless). Cheers, Greg.
  17. Pic added, showing damage.
  18. I have 4 x 235/45/R17's under the house with camber wear on outside edge, rest of them are fine. How does $10 each ($40 for the set) sound? They are street tyres, not race tyres but they are black and round! And I live close to Baskers anyway but can deliver into Moonah easily. Cheers, Greg.
  19. Item: R34 Neo turbo. Age: 1999 onwards I guess! Condition: Damaged front wheel, swallowed a piece of rubber and snapped the leading edges off the front wheel. Still balanced fine, still spins fine, just not making any boost (just whistles!). Price: $250. To Fit: (What car) Any RB engined vehicle, or whatever manifold you have that takes an RB flanged turbo. Location: Hobart, but will post at buyers expence (about $20 to most parts of Australia). Contact: Me via PM on here. I check PM's regularly and have email alerts. No need for phone numbers yet! Comments: I'll get a pic of the damage tomorrow when it's light outside. My car still drives fine, up until 0psi, then it just makes a small whistling sound when it should be making boost. This turbo would suit hi-flowing (although it may have already been done as it had a metal front wheel, not the nylon one), or just getting a new front wheel put on. I'm just getting a R33 turbo to replace this one as I don't have the time to get this one rebuilt. Cheers, Greg.
  20. Hey guys (and girls), I want to know how much a Neo turbo with a damaged front wheel is worth. Got one on my 31, mate left some rubber in my pod filter while doing some work on it, turned the rubber into powder and my front wheel into little chunks! Cheers, Greg.
  21. Have found a R33 turbo for $320 delivered so I think I'll go for that, and sell off the dmaaged Neo turbo I have to make back some of the cost. It'll fix my immediate problem and should do what I want it to do with a 30DET, lots of grunt down low and not spin the bugger past 6-6.5k! I'm just not one of those 'live on the limiter' kinda guys! But thanks for all your advice. It was all taken in and listened to. Cheers, Greg.
  22. Subie, Neo turbo was already fitted to the car when I got it. And for some reason, my Neo is running with an external gate. Don't know how or why, but I'll get some pics when I get home tonight. This might make a V-band type turbo easier as all I have to do is adapt my dump pipe to suit. As for response, I don't have a drama in getting something that is boosting by 2000-2500rpm and runs out of puff by 5000-5500rpm. 7k limiters are for drifters! Any recomendations? Cheers, Greg.
  23. Thanks for your advice guys. For the kind of money mentioned, I can buy a new turbo and sell off the one I have to re-coupe some of the costs, and still come out of it cheaper. Bearing in mind, my motor rarely see's more than 6k and I've never run more than 10psi, don't drag or drift. It's just a work shitter to take me welder and gear to and from work sites! Thus, I don't really care if it's not the ultimate in what can be brought, it just has to be functional. Have been offered this for $450 with all the lines needed to bolt onto my manifold. I know it's a bit big for a RB20 but I have a 3L in the building stage as we speak. Cheers, Greg.
  24. Hey all, I'm hoping somebody here can point me in the right direction. I have (had) a R34 Neo turbo with a metal front wheel. When re-doing my FMIC pipe work, my mate left some rubber inside my pod and the turbo sucked it up and chewed the front wheel pretty badly. Turbo still spins fine, just makes no boost and a strange whistling sound (I'm guessing from the buggered front blades). Now, my mate has admitted fault to this, and is helping out with getting this fixed, but I want to know what my options are. I'd love to keep this turbo as it's really nice on my RB20 Silvertop but it comes down to $$$. How much is involved in replacing the front wheel with what was there? I've been told I can replace the internals with that from a R33 turbo. Or am I going to have to get it rebuilt professionally (in Melbourne or Tassie preferred). I have tried to search for the info I'm after but not really sure what I'm searching for! Thanks in advance for your input. Cheers, Greg.
