Wife said no to spacers. She drives the car all the time. End of discussion! Guess who's married!! Cheers, Greg.

Well, bad news. Test fitted them onto the Stagea (R33) and they were rubbing on some suspension parts. Need to have the offset's about 5mm further out. Shame too, they looked really nice. Cheers, Greg.

I have seen a short dump pipe for a R33 GTSt at a local speed shop down here in Hobart for about the $150 mark, and that has a splitter built into it. Personally, for me, a short one is better because it gives me more freedom with my design of the exhaust (I'm a welder who fabricates exhausts from scratch for fun!), so I shouldn't have the firewall clearence issues you guys seem to be having. I'll try and get some pics of the dump pipe I'm looking at. And the one I'm looking at is polished. How can I make it black so it don't stand out? I was thinking just a light sanding and some VHT heat proof paint. Feel free to keep the suggestions coming! Cheers, Greg.

OK peoples, I'm looking at getting a new dump pipe for my wife's S1 RS4, so I can make a new 2.5" exhaust for it, in the hope of better fuel economy(and a better exhaust note!) And I'm going with 2.5" because it's stock boost, have some 2.5" mufflers handy, and I have plenty of it floating around in my garage I've tried to follow bits of other threads that have wandered on and around what I'm trying to find, but can't really make much sense of it. Seeing as I'm so stupid, can people list where they have sourced their dump pipes from and how much (roughly) they were, and if you had any issues with them. Thanks in advance, Greg. P.S. It's raining so I'm not going out to look now but do the Stag's have any kind of sensor's in the cats that the ECU requires, or can I remove it altogether (or perform taxidermy on the cat instead?).

Show me some pics of these rims. Could be VERY keen if my wife likes them! Cheers, Greg.

Yeah, going RWD would be fun but my wife loves the ability to have AWD when needed. After the Subaru Liberty, she's stuck on the 4 paw grip! Would the R33 auto box work in the Stag?
-
Agreed, the whole point of the RB30DET is torque, which in a Stagea, is really what you need!
-
I'm learning more and more that this isn't going to be as simple as I thought it might have been! Might can the RB30DET, or put it in my 31! Anybody ever bothered measuring up for a RWD conversion with a VQ45??? I know they fit in a 31 so logic would say it would fit in a Stag!
-
Lee, sorry for going OT but I like your eyelids for your car, where did you get them? And why do you have mesh over your licence plate? I'm thinking for simplicity sake, a R34GTT SMIC and water spray kit is going to be the way to go for our Stag. I can't imagine my wife letting cut up the front bar of HER Stag!!! Cheers, Greg.

Was only planning a blueprinted RB30E bottom end and keeping the boost capped at 10psi, so nothing drastic. Mate is doing the labour (with me helping and learning) because he just wants to see a RB30DET in the bus and kill some HSV's! Have seen these adaptor plates on Ebay, but surely it's as simple as getting a RB25DET and RB26DETT sump gaskets, overlaying them, then getting a 10mm steel adaptor cut to suit. I'm a boilermaker with access to everything so that can be done at a fair price. Are there any online shops that sell the adaptors so I know exactly what I'm looking at? Cheers, Greg.

Hey all, I've been told that the 4WD Stags have a different RB25DET block compared to the R33 Skyline's. Is there any truth to this? The reason I'm asking is because I'm having nasty thoughts about a RB30DET swap. Getting the labour for free, just paying for parts but I'm told the RB30 block won't bolt up to the Stag's 4WD sump and gearbox (auto). Cheers, Greg.

I had a look in the back when I was pulling out the sat nav system and there are 2 cargo bolt holes behind the back seats but no child anchor points. And we have 3 baby seats in the back quite regularly (our two (10mth and 2yr) and our baby sitter's 3yr). Lots of room for the big people in the front and the little ones love trying to get balloons out the rear sunroof! Cheers, Greg (Cheryl's husband!)

Hey all, this is my auction on Ebay for a Kenwood sat nav / TV system that came fitted to our Stagea when imported. We don't want/need it so it's for sale. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Kenwood-in-car-Sat-...1QQcmdZViewItem Cheers, Greg.

Hey all, Mate of mine and i were talking today about the fuel economy of the Stagea, and the fact that the R33 Skyline has a better state of factory tune than the Stagea. Then he asked me if the ECU from a R33 automatic Skyline be able to installed into the Stagea. I just don't know!! Also, while I have your attention, I've asked Sam (Dr Drift) about retuning our factory ECU and he has quoted around $1300. My wife didn't like the thought of spending that much money, but then I had another idea. My R31 wagon (RB20DET Silvertop) has a SAFC2 fitted. Can we just move the SAFC2 from my car into the Stag, then get the R32 ECU chipped in my car. Thanks for you time, and constructive comments. Cheers, Greg.

Just like to say that we got one from chuckie, and the quality is spot on!! Fits like a glove. I can personally recomend these items. Cheers, Greg.

Hey all, As topic says, looking around for a set of nice rims for my wife's Stagea. Currently has R33 GTST rims but they are in average condition. Would consider a swap for other R33 rims in pretty good condition with a small cash adjust. Our current rims would me perfect drift rims. Don't need tyres. Cheers, Greg. P.S. Could be talked into a nice set of 17's too!!

does anyone haver a picture of where the anchors points are on the floor behind the seats? I would prefer them over the roof mount ones I currently use thanks Cheryl (Greg's wife)

Does anyone have this same problem when braking? I get the shudder happening then -
Hey all, Does anybody know the CC of the combustion chambers of a RB20DET (Silvertop) and R33 RB25DE? Pretty sure the RB25DE is around the 62-3cc mark, just can't find the RB20DET info. Cheers, Greg.

Meh, saw it once when I was drunk, and it was a burned copy at that, so I'm not the one to be quoting lines from it! There is bright yellow S2 manual with all the goodies in it down here in Hobart (I know the guy who owns it, his son sold us our Stag) and he get's every boy racer trying to do him at the lights. So he just drives his BMW X5 everywhere! But then again, I do just love white cars. Nice and clean paintwork, no rice, no chrome......my R31 wagon like that, so is my wife's Stag. Cheers, Greg. P.S. Mr. RS4, I know you're only taking the piss!!

Sooner the better. My wife drives the Stag 95% of the time and it's starting to unsettle her with the bounciness in the back. We have to drive through twisty off camber roads to get home. I've driven behind the Stag and I've seen the rear tyres tuck well into the wheel arches while bouncing. At 80k's, it's not a nice feeling! Cheers, Greg. -
What's the link? I'm sick with this flu that's going around and not up to sifting through crap to find it! Cheers, Greg.
-
Hey all, I really need to find a pair of standard rear suspension struts for a 1997 RS4 Stagea (auto). Buggered struts are beyond a joke now! Cheers, Greg.
