  6. my plan was to change oil prob every 2nd track depending on how much driving ive done between track days if monthly then prob every track day should i do this with the brake fluid as well?? RellikZephyr
  7. ahh Oil PUMP sorry my bad but you think changing oil filter is easy?? i took my plenum off for different reason and changed oil filter while i was there no i dont think filter is a engine out or plenum off job thats why i thought it was strange and a bit extreme well i feel like a bit of a idiot now ok im gonna go hide for like a week and not post and hope you all forget what i said RellikZephyr
  8. just wondering what people would recommend i do to my GTR before hitting the track (to keep it alive) i have a Oil Catch Can and will be putting a sump baffle kit and oil cooler on have just changed gearbox over (stoopid syncros) and turbos (cause of shaft play, but still stockers) have an EBC and will run no more than 1.0 Bar i have a twin plate clutch and triple core radiator other than Pads, Oil and Oil Filter what do you recommend i do? keep in mind it is a daily driver 90% of the time and only really a weekend warrior Thanks RellikZephyr EDIT: Oh yes and i will be getting a HICAS locker kit too
  9. thanks djr81 luckly i already have a Oil Catch Can i think i will start a thread posing some questions about this so keep your eyes open and two common problems i have seen with RB26 is the AAC valve and the vicious hub (radiator fan) might be an idea to give them a quick check RellikZephyr EDIT: left "H" out of thread
  10. HAHA well done funny just one problem its a 32 also that unique bodykit is fully sik (just ask thorpe) and Intel !?!! shoulda gone AMD their better    funny but a little cruel G_man could be serious RellikZephyr P.S to bad about the decent mags ruins the whole "Flash mate, Flash" image
  11. ive heard of oil problems but no one had ever really elaborated may i ask exactily what the oil problems are i intend to track but only as a weekend warrior/club level thing i will be getting a sump baffle kit, oil cooler and filter relocation before it hits the track is a N1 oil pump really needed for this application considering it will be daily driven 90% Thanks RellikZephyr
  12. HAHAHA the VN i like that one good one cubes RellikZephyr
  13. i think its high time for a model war after what has been said GO THA 32 !!! *whispers* unless you can afford a 34... but GO THA 32 !!! RellikZephyr
  14. i had this choice years ago and i went the VL got a VL Calais it was a good car i quite enjoyed it never owned a R31 but now own a R32 GTR but looking back on it i think i would have enjoyed the R31 just a little more so yeah another vote for the R31 but do you really think a skyline forum is the best place to ask? if you went to a VL forum it would be VL most voted for RellikZephyr
  15. simple answer F*CKIN HARD i dont agree with engine out would make it sh*t loads easier though just seems like an AWFUL lot of work to take out the engine just for oil filter change it is possible to change without removing engine but it is a absolute bitch!!! i changed mine with the engine in BUT i did have the plenum off at the time and it was still a mongrel i recommend get a oil filter relocation kit ASAP RellikZephyr
  16. according to reference.com the top speed is 257 km/h there you go theres a official number and im guessing reference.com is a trustworthy source....?? and from when i was doing a top speed run in my GTR from speed and revs i was doing i believe thats right on the money of the gearing (for a R32 dont know if others have different gearing) RellikZephyr
  17. a techinical description on how to do it is in the GTR service manual and also in HPI mag (cant remember which one around mid 50) its pretty easy Good Luck RellikZephyr
  18. that is a LOT of oil !! my guess would be yes turbo gone feel for ya man i just changed my turbos over but mine didnt fail but were getting close, found a bit of oil in my intercooler RellikZephyr
  19. i had my GTR at about 240 and it was doin 6k rpm so my guess would be maybe 255-260 mark not much futher RellikZephyr
  20. bolts on bottom of plenum are a absolute bitch to get to but 10-12 hrs DAMN i think that guy just wants some money out of you my mechanic with the help of the manual had it off in under 3 hrs but he was swearing and cursing about the lack of access if you got the tools and patience and a spare weekend i dont see why you couldnt do it yourself only reason i got my mechanic to do it is i knew it would be a headache and i didnt want a headache as for problems didnt run into any other than u need a trained monkey to climb in engine bay for you Good Luck RellikZephyr
  21. i did search!!!!!! and only ones i found were no where near the 3K delivered mark so if you know of the shops selling them for that do tell RellikZephyr
  22. ok most of the GT-SS kits im seeing are a single setup i want to keep twin turbo setup and stock location and all that RellikZephyr
  23. wouldnt dream of it thanks RellikZephyr
  24. what be the specs of GT-SS turbos?? RellikZephyr EDIT: arent they the HKS 2530 replacements??
  25. i was just wondering what do people think would be better bang per buck setup buy some R34 N1 turbos (steel wheeled and ball bearing core) or just rebuild my stockers (R32 GTR) rebuild them with steel exhaust wheel, change to ball bearing core (if possible) and hi-flow them or just put slightly bigger compressor wheel in them i know 34 N1's are about $2500-$3000 second hand and im guessin $1200-$1500 per turbo would be enough to rebuild them to my wanted specs Now keep in mind im not chasing BIG power just want good response and prob at most 300rwkw is this possible(rebuild to specs)?? or even a good idea?? wont be doing this for a little bit just wondering which is the best path Thanks in advance RellikZephyr
