  1. Hi there.. Dont know if this is the right area, but... The demister in my R32 hasnt gone since I got the car... anyway, measured the tracks on the back windows and there are no breaks... Pulled the switch out and found it didnt work... no problem, got another one that measured sweet.. fitted it and it still doesnt work (i.e no orange light comes on)... can anyone tell me if this is common with these, or if there is anything else I could check.. someone said to me once that you have ot leave the switch on for about ten minutes before the light "warms up" and comes on.. its not cold enough here for me to have a misty window to see if it works anyway, but I thought the light would come on at least? help... Damo
  2. worst case senario you could always just run a new wire from your battery.. .. have you been able to measure 12v on the ignition and lighting leads? might sound silly, but are you sure you have a good ground for your multimeter?.. cheers, damo
  3. hey there... i think it would be very unlikely/impossible for there to be a fire risk from the sub or its housing... the only fire risk possibilty would be if you amp was also on the back seat had wiring issues... as far as how to do it.. umm, pass.. but let us know if you can figure a way... but if you do figure something, make sure it involves haveing any subs/amps/boxes very well secured, theres nothing worse that have a heavy projectile parked right behind you if you need to stop in a hurry.. the other thing to consider is having you gear displayed in the back seat might increase the risk of theft.. hope some of that helps, damo
  4. Hi there.. from my understanding you need to buy a link cable of sorts to suit the headunit and it will allow you to charge the ipod and control playback... it pass's the sound through into the headunit for playback, like the same way haveing a cd stacker would work.. you can chage tracks etc.. on the pioneer headunits it passes about 8 charachters or something thgouh to display song titles. They do not transfer the songs themselves into the headunits, they stay on the ipod... I'm not sure about the photo ipods though, i dont think the images would be controlable.. Hope that helps.. Cheers, Damo
  5. Hi there.. Am going through a similar problem myself at the mo (although i'm using an R32)... I have posted in this forum (noise question i think is the subject title).. anyway, if you want some things to try and help you get to the bottom of it, read the other forum i have been posting in, there are heaps of guys trying to help me through troubleshooting it and im sure a lot of the same procedures could work for you (although i still haevnt solved mine yet).... go here: http://forums.nzicemag.co.nz/viewtopic.php?t=4971 Hope that helps dude.. good luck with it, its a nightmare... damo
  6. if your bored, and want a long read.. or perhaps even looking for some tips to try on your own skyline to sort these probs out, you can read post in the forum i have been trying to get help in... http://forums.nzicemag.co.nz/viewtopic.php?t=4971 cheers, damo
  7. yeah the earth points are all good aye... havent thought about upgrading the batteries earth though.. but i acutally unplugged my alternator to see if that would help (after haveing it prof. checked, to which it was all sweet)... most of the whine went away, but i still had noise... sounded alot like ignition tick actually... sorry to hear others have the same prob, but kind glad to know i'm not the only one at least..
  8. Hi there.. Dont know if anyone will be able to help, but I have a 1991 Skyline GTS-T M-Spec, 4 Door Sedan... I recently fitted my amps etc. insto the boot, and all was sweet... But hten i thought it was time to bling it up a bit, so removed some of the panels i had made and carpeted them... when i refitted everything, i got wicked alternator whine... Anyway, to cut a long story short, i have tested all my gear and cables, to which none are at fault... I have had the alternator checked, and all was sweet.. I even tried a supressor on the alternator (and just about everything else) which didnt help... I guess my question was, has anyone else had noise issue with this model of Skyline, and did anyone have any luck fixing it? Would really appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.. Cheers, Damo
