the exhaust size comment is not my oppinion as i have no knowledge of that kind of stuff. i trust the oppinion of what he said and maybe i heard him wrong or misunderstood. but there is some logic somewhere in there... maybe i think the point he was tyring to make is that for engines to have the best breathability (if that is a word) is to have a larger exhaust than what is expected. this is coming from a final year mechanical engineer who has actual built a rocket engine so he must know something.
  3. gt wings look good on 33s! but i think it should only be done as the final addition to the car.
  4. just curious, is that the standard front bar? plus im interested in buying your rims
  5. i dont think a harness is legal no matter which way you install it
  6. does that mean that at Japsport you take the cars you compliance for spin around the block? i would say thats exactly what the owners dont want to hear!
  7. yeah 150m seems a bit extreme. i remember in the book you read before going for your liscence they had stupid figures like that. i did a driving course a while ago and we were stopping from 60kmh in the wet in 15m - much better than i thought possible. its just propaganda to get people to drive safer.
  8. better yet, ive heard rumours of a place in sydney that has made a power adjustable silencer that goes somewhere between the cat and muffler and can be flicked between silenced and open from the cabin. very good idea. i want one!
  9. a resonator is going to be less restrictive than a silencer therefore better for your turbo and you can still give it a decent go with it in, then for track days screw in the original piece and there you have it.

most cars out there are running undersized exhausts. ive been told that a car running around 300 rwkw should have a 5 inch exhaust. theres a few cars running that power but i doubt there running that exhaust size.
  11. yeah, were talking about different things. are they really 4k for the raws plates??? thats sh*thouse! i thought that it wasnt going to be more expensive. or at least that was what i was told. yeah i was wondering how someone was planning on getting a car in complied before the cut off, but by the was the thread started i thought the the car was almost landed but just needed a plate.
  12. how about FILTH or TRASH, always wanted to get a really nice car and get plates like that.
  13. apparently you can't bag the workshops on here but i dont give a f*ck about what the workshops think of me, its just that i know someone else who is about get compliance from there i dont want them to find out and make it worse for him or even not do it. the indicator repeator is the second indicator that sits infront of each of the doors on the front guards. its an australian design requirement. Hint: the workshop has been mentioned before on here and seems to be quite a repected place within the import scene.
  14. doenst one of the v8 supercar drivers own one that has only done a few thousand ks?
  15. those are always very safe estimates but think about how much ground you would cover in a few seconds when slowing from 100. it might not be that much but it would still be quite a bit of distance.
  16. whats the point of driving around with a silencer in a loud exhaust? if you want loud get a big exhaust if you dont then dont get a big exhaust, its not rocket science. or just get another resonator put in (thats assuming you already have one).
  17. a friend of mine had his car complied recently and is slowly learning just how dodgy a job they did. i noticed some of this on the day he picked it up when i saw that one of the indicator repeaters (which by the way are the ugliest things ever) was about to fall out. with a slight touch of the hand it did fall out and we found that there wasnt even primer around the inside of the hole which was bare metal. after driving it for the day he found that it couldnt reach 1 bar when it was previously running 1.1. he searched around and found that they had installed a 2 inch cat on a much larger exhaust. obviously they didnt give a flying f*ck what went on the car as long as they got there money. word of warning: if getting your car complied bring these things up before hand cause when its done its too late.
  18. funky monkey, where are you getting a plate now? my was the last and it only cost me 2200 for the plate plus compliance. UPI were trying to get the last plates and im not sure if they got them or not, so they would be the only ones with unused plates.
  19. all right fine, ill give you 1800 for the damn tyres... geez you drive a hard bargain i still want those tyres... mmm lots of tread
  20. i got a plate for my 32 probably 6 weeks ago and im the last that i know to buy one. good luck finding one now cause im pretty sure that they cant sell them anymore. only chance is off a wrecked car.

if you were concerned about noise then why didnt you just put 2 resonators in? two cats... WTF?

a mate of mine had flames coming out of his exhaust until he put a cat in.
  23. how old are the tyres? ill buy them off you...
